There might be a setting in the BIOS to turn onboard graphics off. Maybe there's something something like picking which type of card would be...

Don't see anything wrong with that Dell system you mentioned. You should be fine with buying the 1 gig of ram for it, but as for the video...

Best thing to do is report this to their technical support. Make sure to provide the map it happened on, and which henchman it was.
