That's not how it's worked in the past, Sith.
Bonus items usually are available before the game.
I remember using the Nightfall weapons in the "preview" last year, and pictures of them were posted from in-game even before that!

True, with the previous packs weapons were available as soon as you got the pre-order kit and added the key, which could be up to 3 or 4 weeks before release. So I expected it to be the same this time.
Would be nice if we could get some info on where/when/how we get them, cause apart from the 3 weapons and the preview acces, the kit holds little else.

So can we still get this? Or is it only avaliable to those who have already pre-ordered?
If it is still avaliable, when will the promotion expire?

If it is still avaliable, when will the promotion expire? It's not in stores yet. Some people who pre-ordered online have gotten it, but the weapons are not yet available.
It should be in-stores after July 20, and will be available on the online store at that time, I expect.
As long as you get the Key of the pre-release before August 24-26 weekend, you'll be able to access the event (if that's what you mean).
Raziel665, I agree the retail box seems to hold nothing of interest. Might as well buy on the online store, and get credit for the Bonus Missions.

Finnish online store http://www.puolenkuunpelit.com/kauppa/
In there, getting pre-order pack is easy, I just pre-order game and they send me my pre-order package automatically, naturally I pay from game when I pre-order it. If your online store can't handle it, I recommend to find better one.

If I buy the preorder and the game from the online store, how do I get all those fun little extras? Will A.Net snail-mail them to me?

But you still get the special weapons, right?

Again, someone from anet or ncsoft should know which stores the pre-release dvd was shipped to. Can you please provide a list of stores for each country, specifically for Canada?!
I saw it at amazon.com for $1, contacted amazon.ca via email and got a standard " we don't know, just check back" reply.
Checked Best Buy and Futureshop, nothing.
Called EB Games in Burnaby, they don't know anything either and do not have it in store.
I would be thankful for any information. Thank you!

In the past, Ive always checked the canadian online retailers for any new GW products (before I went to find out about it instores) and again Ive been checking futureshop/Bestbuy/amazon.ca since I first saw GWEN pre-order sales @ ebgames.com and amazon.com.
To no surprise, canadian retailers have not (and never) caught up to info and availability somehow.
In my experience canadian retailers would either get a hold of their stock later that day of a release date or that week of a release date for something GW.
For prerelease packs and such, it was never available online nor on time. Ebgames instore would be the best bet for them (but again, you called Ebgames already...)
So, basically Im going to get it in the ingame store this time to avoid all the mess (and if there isnt this time, good for you. )
*Side note: Just to show how ridiculous(annoying) it is sometimes over here w/ GW products. An Example: Futureshop/Bestbuy.ca has their own Pre-Order/Coming Soon section. They have games spanning release dates from Aug to Nov and even TBA (To be announced), yet they can never keep up-to-date w/ putting out anything GW info...I dont see GWEN (or prerelease)...my guess is someone at these companies'(retailers) end arent doing their job...lol.

Yes. Buying the pre-release from the online store will net you the 3 bonus items + the "sneak peak" August 24 - 26. It's possible they'll email you the Trial code, too.
The only thing you're missing out on is a DVD with Nightfall videos.
BTW, the full retail release of GWEN only comes with a 16-page mini-manual and map. IMO, not as good as the Bonus Missions.
So, it's pretty much an easy decision for me: Buy online and get the Bonus Missions. I don't need another box or manual (although the map would be nice, I might pick up the official strategy guide assuming they make one).

Hmm, I think we go through this everytime, is EB in Australia getting the pre-release?

So, cause I really wanted my weapons with the pack, I asked Support about it. Here's what I got:
Quote:
Thank you very much for contacting the Guild Wars Customer Support Team. Items such as this can be collected through the /bonus command, in-game. When running this command, please make sure that...Quote:
1.) Make sure you are in an outpost or city (a non-instanced area)
2.) Make sure you have enough free space in your inventory for all items you expect to receive (an empty inventory would be ideal)
If you do not receive the Guild Wars: Eye of the North bonus items when running this command, they may not yet be available. However, the latest date that these weapons will be available to players with the pre-order pack will be the day of GW:EN's release.
If you should encounter any further problems, please let us know and we will do our best to help you out.

http://www.guildwars.com Guess we'll have to wait a bit longer on that. Would be nice if they let us know when they become available, either trough Gaile or some sort of semi-official message.
I know I'll be doing /bonus when I log on each day...

It is in the stores now. At least in middle Europe. I ordered it yesterday and they delivered it today. However I cant use it till aug 24.

The sword is the winning entry of Andre Roux. Oddly enough, the concept art for the Hourglass staff didn't win, but it was posted on GWO, IIRC. I guess A-Net decided that it would be added anyway?

Let me clarify: You do not automatically get a copy of the preorder/prerelease bonus pack when your purchase GW:EN in the in-game store.
You need to purchase the prerelease bonus pack in the in-game store, and then when you purchase GW:EN in the in-game store, the cost of the PBP will be applied to the cost of the game.

PreRelease pack (PRB) and GWEN are *separate* purchases from GW Online store
can mix and match, buy the PRB from GW Store and get boxed copy of GW:EN elsewhere

I dont know whether to post this here or not but was hoping someone could answer this. On wiki it says that with the pre release pack we get access to the Tabula Rasa beta.My question is will I get it if I buy it online?
Fox Reeveheart
every warrior/wammo and anyone with a warrior secondary will be using that sweet sword, I know I will!
Seems like with the ice damage and 15% while enchanted would be good for a W/D or D/W build... hmmm... obviously a W/E build would be nice or E/W

I was really hoping it was not that sword from the contest as it was one of the best designs and now you have to get the pre-order and also are stuck with lousy stats. It has use but would much rather have a fully customizable one. They have never been fully customizable, which is really lame. 15% Enchant and Icy, and 15 -5 and 20/20 Sundering on a bow. Boo.
Staff can be functional for a monk or ele, but as much for a mesmer or rit. Ah well.... more weapons to look at but never really use. I think the NF set I let my heros use until I could find better ones, but after that not much use.

Gamestop better have my pre-release pack. Last time I called them they were clueless on even the exactly release of GW:EN which was a few days ago telling me the release date was Sept 1, I laughed but then sighed lol.
Anyway, as long as I get my copy before the event weekend I'll be a happy camper.

Am I right in thinking that we need to purchase the pre-release pack from the online store, and that will reduce the cost of buying GW:EN? In which case, could we buy the pre-release pack from the Online store, but not bother actually buying GW:EN?
I really want the pre-release pack, but absolutely no where in the UK has even heard of it, and I'd much prefer a boxed copy of GW:EN. I know a place that sells the boxed prerelease pack online along with the GW:EN expansion, but I've been sworn to secrecy
You have to email around to see which retailers have the pack in-stock, and if they'll send it to you before the GW:EN release date.
So far, only Gameseek have the prerelease info listed; but from the customer reviews I don't trust that they'll be able to get the game to me by the day of release, and the fact they charge your card immediately even for preordering (which they say deters thieves, but I think they're the ones robbing people).

Regarding Tabula Rasa,
I think Dungeon Runners had similar offer
when I go my PlayNC account,
http://www.plaync.com/us/
it told me I was eligible to APPLY for beta
but it was not a guarantee of getting in

Just what are you going to do with a sundering longbow of negative energy?
I'm scratching my head on that one.

Yeah, I'm checking into this as i and a lot of guildies remember having access to the preorder weapons early for both Factions and Nightfall
Apparenlty that wasnt the case, but i distinctly remember having them and using them on my presear warrior and also during the preview events for both chapters...
If however this is correct, we won't even have them for the sneakpeak event on the 24th August

Why is there still no mention of the pre-release bonus pack on the main online retailers websites?
Nothing on Amazon.co.uk
Nothing on Play.com
Nothing on GAME
Nothing on Gameplay.com
etc
Amazon and GAME are even linked from the Guild Wars homepage in the pre-release bonus pack article, and yet they seem to know nothing about it.

No use trying to promote the store if you don't get products in there on release day.
