All item duplication exploit (do not name players please)

yeah, lets thx anet for doing the obvious, banning the players that took advantage of the dupe glitch.

what are you doing about the new infusion of duped armbraces, ectos, etc. into the economy?

my guess is absolutely nothing.

Last time I remember a rollback, it almost took an entire day to fix only a few hours. From what I hear this exploit has happened for a long time. All I have to say is that as good of a job Anet has done at preventing exploits things like these will always happen as long as you make gold a scarce thing. I would like the old drops implemented without farming codes. People are going to get away from this exploit scott free. The smarter ones that probably duped elite tomes, decent amount of ecto and obsidian shards, rubies or other common things that sell effectively and wasn't dead obvious.

I would prefer decent drops when I farm, that would stop people from finding out exploits.

I hope u realize that is basically the equivalent of communism. hey everybody, lets take all the money stock brokers make and give it to everybody cuz they got lucky and its not fair others didnt get lucky!

I lost several hundred plats this weekend and will probably lose more if ppl realize that several ppl have stacks of duped ectos. yeah my tormented items are no longer as exclusive as they used to be. who cares? count the number of ppl in shing jea who afk'ed their titles, + the number of ppl who went ha, + the suprisingly MASSIVE amount of ppl who either recieved new tiers or maxed out their titles. im pretty sure there are more of those that loathe a rollback than those who support one.

hey learn some english comprehension skills please. u know wut most likely means? that means u SUSPECT someone. when u accuse someone, u say they DID do something. suspecting ppl without proof is legal. accusing someone without is not. im not saying u dupe because i know ur rich. having under 30 armbraces can be legit because 1 stack of ectos could be sold for about 4-7 armbraces. however, u dont think its a lil suspicious to have over 200 esp. since the person in question happend to close the thread the SAME day that the duping thing came to light?

If I didn't read guru, I wouldn't know about the duping of armbraces and if I had seen someone selling armbraces and <100k I probably would've bought one not knowing about duping and frankly not believing it possible. It's guys like this that will suffer undeservingly if accounts are perma banned by association to duped items.

On the other hand perhaps accounts are being banned then their actions are being reviewed and the are being classified as either a victim or perpetrator and the former will be unbanned and the latter banned. Even though I had nothing to do with armbraces or any expensive goods in the past week I wouldn't mind giving up my account for a few days if I knew that I would get it back and if I knew that this meant items were being restored to their original amounts and owners.

What about all the people who sold their pets for millions of gold and are left with armbraces worth very little now.

I cant get access to GW but if a person received 250 armbraces which were worth 70 ecto each and they are now worth 5 ecto (a guess) each then the armbraces are only worth 1250 ecto which is like 7 million or so now.

I really cannot see armbraces returning to their original value after all of this.

If you mean , if i were to go buy a stack of someone selling them for cheap because he wants to get money fast and get rid of the evidence, if i would be in danger of getting banned?

I think the answer is very likely, i mean it is then almost certain that i know something is up and would also be trying to take advantage of the situation, I would just warn anyone that is thinking about buying lots of arm braces that they might be at risk, if your buying 1 or 2 i think the chance are low.

Note : I do not wish or even have the money to buy a single Arm Bracer, it was just and example

now that there are so many armbraces in the game, it just provides the majority of anets player base [casual gamers] a realistic opportunity to get one. since thats obviously a good byproduct of this fiasco, i dont see anet doing anything to rid the game of the new duped armbraces.

I hope every single person that purchases a armbrace for what the market price was couple days ago (100k 50k+ ectos) gets a banned.

Buyers and sellers darn well know buying an armbrace for anything way lower, is not right. and They know what they are doing buying them for so cheap.. ._.

Come on, do you really feel there's a need to somehow compensate someone who sold his pet for a mere 7 million instead of the ridiculous amount he got offered for it?

Also, AoT's wont drop that dramatically unless ofc the people who received a 1000 of them for a minipet start dumping them. In which case they only have themselves to blame but then again, what else can you do with that many?

How many of us would want to even pay 5 ecto for one? I certainly wont and while it sounds great you have 100 million gw gold tied up in AoT's I highly doubt that they'd retain their value anyway once you start selling that many.

Anet can delete or replace items in people's inventories.

Like I said in a previous post, most (I have no stats sorry) of the players are IN IT for the MONEY + FAME . Why not ? I have nothing against it.

I have never owned an armbrace and the only trading I have done recently since coming back off of a long holiday was buying and selling a Mini Gwen.

Edit: I am truely flattered that you think I am responsible or involved in this mess especially since I havnt even had access to GW bar a few days in the last month or so due to a long holiday and my internet being messed up.

Would be nice to know, but I doubt we'll get exact numbers. Besides, all that's really important is that they are doing something against the whole mess.

I suspect that many of the people crying doomsday for Anet are also many of the same that were convinced that Y2k meant the end of the world. Everybody just needs to calm down and keep things in perspective.

And Zorgy, I realize that you've suddenly fallen in love with The Herbalizer, but honestly, stalker-like behavior is not becoming of anyone.

Once the exploit is fixed, and the right people are banned, all Anet has to do is change the look, or the name, of the armbrace and things will get back to normal. Perhaps Anet could introduce a new set of items that the new armbrace could be redeemed for.

I can hear the protests from all the people that bought armbraces for 100K +50 ecto, but, there are plenty of items that I bought at a premium that now goes for pennies. I remember a Brohn's Staff selling for 100k. Now one would be lucky to get 7K. Or, how about those HOD's? Or, even ecto, which were worth 8-10K at one time, now sell for 5K.

The people who really enjoy the economic aspect of the game and like to farm, accumulate high end items, and buy and sell, will continue to do so. I love that part of the game. I would never consider doing any of these things dishonestly and most of those types I just described would agree with me. I believe anyone who bought multiple numbers(more than 1) of armbraces at the discount prices as well as sellers of these items should be permanently banned.

A note to the guy who whined about people being selfish with their in game gold. Anyone, even someone who just started playing GW five minutes ago, can go out into any territory and farm items and take them to the merchant. That's how I started and I've made millions in K's. There are hundreds of legal ways to do this. It's an integral part of the game that gives it depth. Ironically, the people who are selfish are those who think they should beg for their gold instead of going out and spending a little time getting some. It's really fun to farm.

And, while I'm on a roll, why are there people in Kamadan directing people to web sites where they can buy in game gold> They should be booted immediately and the companies they work for banned for life.

If an account is found guilty, put a note saying: "this account will be perma-banned in X seconds"

These notes can't be dropped, traded or deleted in any way.

i got my account banned the reason i had ambraces is i got them from a person he is the duplicator i did not know that he was doing any thing like duping when he gave them to me i thought he was being nice... idk how he duped but somehow me and my guildies got banned for it i need to get my account back i have been playin for 2 years and because of his trickery i get banned gaile please can u help me get my account reactivated?

I'm not a hardcore farmer. I'm an average player. I take things slow and easy. I play 5 different characters regularly, plus a few specialty characters, like my survivor candidate, mules and 1 Pre-sear char.

I've finished Prophecies and Factions each with 1 char. I have yet to complete NF. So, obviously I don't have any ambraces or even any torment gems. Never seen one and don't know much about them. Never been in the DoA, yet I have 1 character in the torment realm who is getting close to finishing. I'm looking forward to exploring the area.

I saw a player about 4 months ago with a Torment Shield. I didn't know what it was. All I knew was that it was the coolest looking shield I had ever seen. I asked the player what shield it was and being the rich elite jerkoff that he was, he refused to answer me. He just told me to "get lost noob". I spent an hour looking at shield pics on wiki until I found it myself.

Since then I've had my heart set on getting a Torment Shield. I'd love to own one for my warrior, Scarlet. Yet now I'm afraid to buy one. I'm sure I could purchase an Armbrace cheap, yet will I be banned for doing so? What if I instead farm the Domain for gems and earn my shield the hard way. Will people see it now and just assume I cheated?

And after a month of hard work and having a lot of FFF (fun farming foundry), I got my gems.

I intend to get my tormented recurve bow tomorrow. The fair way, by completing the foundry again and handing over my hard earned gems. Sad about not having bought a cheap duped armbrace? Not a chance. At least I've earned this one. Go fair players.

hey i got my account banned for a friend givin me free stuff any one know if they are gonna reopon alot of the banned accounts from this because alot of people did not know they where getting copied items

just a suggestion, if a rust storm isnt posible, just make a new skin for tormented items, like if a player traded his "Duped Ambrace" for a tormented shield he would get a Wooden Shield or something like that. making tormented items less desirable for trading duped AoT's.

i just want to know if my account can get reactivated because the reason i was banned is my friend gave me items i did not know there where duplicated items i really need someones help here
