A/E Master Sliver of Swiftness - HM Farming!

Why will you deal with SoJ? you probably shouldnt be attacking him directly in anycase due to your damage coming from sliver and aftershock.

Nightmares pop-up and spam it on you when you run up the hill to the Ice Beast.

well, i guess the planes are the new target for ecto farmers...poor mindblades .
There are so many variants that work in NM...HM however, imho, it's not worth it. Dunno how you guys manage with it, but i find the fleeing of mobs from any decent damaging spell more than a mere nuisance.

I assume HM would be impossible.

I use the sliver armor variants in HM and if you aggro them so that their left side is next to a wall, they can't flee. knoll

HM is possible you just have to get the Coldfires and then kill them fast, I would bring shadow refuge instead of Feigned to spam more and attack the coldfires to get the +104 health back on shadow refuge. Also don't get to close to the coldfires or they will cast frozen burst and kill you. Kaleban
The question is though, why farm in UW/FoW in HM, beyond the challenge?
You're not going to get inscribable weapons, frequently the weapons that do drop aren't max, and ecto/shard drop rates are the same regardless of difficulty. Or at least, that's what ANet says. Having gotten 8 ecto in one Chaos Plains run in NM with my A/E AoE sin (not sliver) and killing all the enemies at the same time, I can concur. Lest121

Sliver armor can kill faster. TechnoSword
I was trying to do shiroken farming today at unwaking waters, but i kept dying. Last time I did it Song of the mist dropped your health down to just 1hp, but now it just kills you completely?

I remember doing that before. Seems like Anet have fixed it..

Found out last night. The Build can solo HM Dwarvens outside of Delimore War Camp and Sorrows Furance. Only problem is that the healers are pain. You wont be able to kill them because with the amount of emenies you have on you they just run away. Anyone got any tips on how to kill those healers I would Appreciate it.
royal mercenary
attack em so they don t run away
Warriorsrmint
Stay close to them so sliver targets them, maybe take a snare aswell to slow down the speed at which they run away so you can pull em pack easier.
Avatar Exico
tryed that didnt work. On HM the Priest of Sorrows will Run away with attacks or No Attacks. Mean you cant even get near him he will run in the sec you get to close. The Mob I had was to big. Have to reduce the Mob then he will stay in one spot. Doing this is really hard he heals the Party well and with Mark of Protection the dmg doing the foe with Sliver is reduce to 0 and it giving a uber heal.

ay, Rezdogg. another area you can add from Prophecies is Witman's Folly outside of Port Sledge. there's 4 bosses and they can be killed very easily(especially since you can agro a LOT of groups) and they never deal dmg to you. drops are Ok i get about 3 golds per run. my best one was 4 golds, 2 lockpicks, one of those scrolls thats 400g and a elite ranger tome. id also like to add that this could be a good area for people to practice with since its pretty much foolproof once you know exactly how to keep of SF all the time.
~-=Edit=-~ Made a Map knoll
IDS fun...
[build prof=a/e sha=12+3+1 ear=12 dead=3 name="IDS" box][Glyph of Swiftness][Deadly Paradox][Shadow Form][Glyph of Lesser Energy][Ebon Battle Standard of Honor][Sliver Armor][Dash][Dark Escape][/build] Always go left when running to Ice imps in mineral springs, you will die by the archers, Avicara Fierces. So when you get right into the zone cast SF and then use dash then dark escape, by then they have Ignite Arrows. Ignite Arrows will do 9 dmg to you if you have Dark Escape and a +8 armor shield on. I would also suggest +10 vs fire. Then you see a Y in the road once you go left for a bit, choose the side that doesn't have more archers. Then you will have no more archers to run by, unless you get the boss. To make this run most effective while having enough energy to cast SF, I would go Dark Escape, dash, dash, SF repeat I think. Pretty simple. Sprites
very impressive ...
i'll remove the dust on my sin ^^ ReZDoGG

Pretty simple. Looks like a good route, I'll have to try it out. A good skill to take for Ignite would be [Feigned Nuetrality] with Dark Escape, or just use Feigned with some cupcakes. I been using cupcakes alot with my sin, frees up a slot, plus work on my sweettooth title at the same time But yeah, I'll get the IDS run a shot... never actually got an IDS before, I've tried the old W/Mo build ages ago, but I never bothered since the run was so far just to end up with nothing. Add Glint's Challenge in HM to your list ReZDoGG.
It can take out most of the first wave of destroyers until you get down to about 4-5, that's when their inner fire starts to out heal sliver. Just position yourself between where the two mobs of destroyers come in and be sure to aggro all of them before they aggro the baby dragon. Wait until the counter hits the 3 minute mark and then you can move into one of the destroyer mobs and start your sliver combo. Only thing you have to watch out for is when the mobs start to dwindle, the ritualists will begin to use [Vengeful Weapon] which will cause you to take damage. You can use either [Feigned Neutrality] or what I usually prefer, [Heart of Shadow] to heal yourself. Once you've cleared out most of the destroyers, resign and start again. Avatar Exico
ReZDoGG might forgot a Farming Spot in Proph. Have to check with a Friend. Lions Arch Titan Farming with the End Quest of Proph. A very perfect place to paratice the build with alot of foes to kill. Dont have worry about being killed their no skills those Titans that can pen SF. Only thing is that if you want to kill the Rangers, pull a huge grp to them and then Sliver the ranger to death.

Thats sucks, I made a video for Full IDS run and been uploading it on youtube for about two hours now... just to find out that it wasn't being uploaded because of stupid maintenace! Kind of pisses me off, I just wasted 2 hours waiting around for it to be done, now I gotta re-upload it. But anyways, IDS runs are faster than ever with the Silver build. I actually got my first IDS drop... Sliver slices through Ice Imps like butter.

Very nice run ReZDoGG, I haven't gotten an IDS yet but love the farming run. It only takes about 10-12 minutes to run to the cave and kill all imps inside.
ReZDoGG
Update: Added new video for IDS Farming. The video is a full HM run for IDS Farming, from start to finish. IDS Farming just got easier and faster...
Check it out here: A/E Master Sliver of Swiftness - Full IDS Run (HM) fireflyry
Nice vid man.
In the middle of farming on a variation of this build the other day in GoA....drinking beer...while in the middle of a huge mob group....needed to pee....went....came back....kept on farming..... It's that good. As a fan of Sin since release of Factions, my main since, it's good to see some good vibes going around and yet I still feel it's a pity so many Sin players have worked so hard to get where they are, including the nerfs, to only to have these buffs happen. Yes this build and variants are awesome but the amount of Sins running around atm is laughable and it's totally cheapened Sin titles that, up till the buff, were hard worked for and involved actual skill and a heck load more time as opposed to the current infi-SF. After getting so much grief for being a pure Sin main it's ironic to suddenly see the amount of Sins running around high-end farm zones presently, especially after getting so many flames for playing the "broken" or "stupid nOOb naruto" class. Funny how if a class can suddenly farm like a 55, etc, etc or better it's suddenly "acceptable"..... Heh....Guild Wars... knoll
Running to Mineral Springs can be faster without going all the way around, just go to the first left you see.
Elite Bushido
i guess later ill make a video of the grawl farming when i get off work

Add the tengu in northern kryta. In hard mode they can drop up to 20 feathers at a time it seems, that's about 500g at the trader, plus they scalps can be salvaged for feathers. They drop lots of runed armor too. There's usually a couple tengu bosses there too.

Update: Added new video for more areas to farm, and I also added a ranger build for hero that can be good for dualing some areas. Enjoy
A/E Master Sliver of Swiftness - Misc. HM Farming Part 3 (NEW) ================================================== ======== Dual Farming (Hero build/s) -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ranger (hero): This is a simple FS build that can be useful for farming places like Stygian Veil with enemies that use resurrection spells. I threw in EoE which might help in some areas, but of course you will need an AoE damage/degen skill for yourself to get enemies health down below 90% in order for EoE to trigger. Anything can be changed to fit your dualing situation. Toxicity and Pestilence are good when using Viper's Defense for places where degen can be effective against enemies. Be sure to flag hero, disable their skills, and pull enemies into range of spirits. [build prof=R/mo bea=11+3+1 wil=11+3 exp=9+1 box ][edge of extinction][toxicity][pestilence][predatory season][frozen soil][succor][rebirth][no skill][/build] Warriorsrmint
In Nebo terrace you can kill the Bog Skale Icetooth, Tengu and the undead rangers (the elementalists have touch skills) plus any grasping ghouls and Hellhounds.

For farming MASSES of heket, get Desperate Measures quest in Forum Highlands. Kill hekets with boss, rezone and repeat. Just don't complete the quest or kill harpy leader.

Dark Escape and Feigned is enough to survive acouple blast. But if you notice how I moved around in the video, and sometimes pulled enemies away from corpses... I was doing that to avoid Putrid as much as possible.
Evera I really, really like this build. Targuil

Well, it was just my idea, but if it works with few hekets, it should work with masses. If that doesn't work, you can try those skrees. But i suggest to a)take hero posted above or b)kill those monks who use [skill]renew life[/skill] first. And again i may come up with ideas, but doesn't change the fact that i don't have assassin.
E: If you find a decent way to deal with [skill]mystic twister[/skill] you could farm The Battle of turai's procession quest too. Stuart444
I have not tried to use the glype of swiftness/deadly paradox/Shadow form with my sin yet, I think I might just try that out and test it later today ^_^ using this build as a starter for farming (starter incase I find others that work just as well)
I will start by trying the raptors in river earth^_^ Spangly_boy

I used to do this last year sometime, pre Perma [shadow form].
I used my assassin with SF, and fire bomb build and took a R/mo hero with [lacerate][brambles][edge of extinction] and a couple of monk skills [protective spirit] in particular to defend against the spiking margonite dervish thingymebobs. ReZDoGG

I don't bother making a video for UW, as its not the most effective one to use for Ectos... althought it still works fine. Could probably still do a full Mindblade run in bout 40 minutes, since Sliver needs to hack through the Bladed Aatxes first before you can kill Graspings. oliverrr1989
I was wondering...can the PvE skills in this build be substituted? I want to start farming on my sin, but I really don't want to go through EotN just to get the skills

You can do it without the PvE skills, but be aware that the Ward, even at a low level, will double or more the effectiveness of sliver armor. Air of Superiority is not required at all, just very handy for the occasional skill recovery.
Also, see the UW farming thread for A/E, which uses no PvE skills. |
