Dev Update: Hall of Monuments Changes
Nopantson
lets forget the fact that i worked only on one char and have no other titles on other chars :/

Excellent.
Glad they quashed those "the HoM will close when GW2 releases" rumors.
I'm still not sure how this will work with some titles... but sounds good.
I only hope they also listened to us about how they monuments are actually displayed and allow us to actually organize the statues how we want them to more easily.

I like it, even though i'm nearly done filling a second mini pet monument.
some questions i still have:
-when does a monument count as "complete" / what is needed to achieve an unlock for gw2? (e.g. will 5titles on display be enough or will certain titles have different benefits?)
-what will happen with professions that don't have armor equivalents that are currently displayed? (naked dervishes/paragons when 15k prophecies/factions armor is on display?)
-what will happen to players, who have the same armor type on multiple characters? (will there be 5statues of the same armor or only one?)
some wishes:
-please redo the sort options for the monuments
-consider the change of some character based titles to account wide (Wisdom/Treasure Hunter/Drunkard/Sweet Tooth/Party Animal come to mind)
- if you play a lot of different characters, the reputation titles are still a pain to get to usable levels. maybe you could add some kind of "sidekick boost" system that kicks in once a statue for a maxed reputation title is displayed in the HoM
-add a monument for completing the Titan Quests

Just wanted to share that I found this update to be downright keen.
I look forward to seeing my male Paragon in that Vabbian armor I just got for my female dervish
Just inferring a couple of points-
What you see isn't [only] what you get: There is no difference between what is displayed in a monument or if it is shuffled in the background as far as the 'reward' in GW2.
Should be interesting to see how 'duplicate' monument entries are resolved. A couple ways this could go.
The tormented weapons add a nice option, but since they are more expensive than Destroyer weapons, I'll just plan on the latter for now.

-Add Deldrimor Weapons to HoM
-Add Armor for the expansion professions in Prophecies and Dervish/Paragon armor to Factions
-Add a statue for beating EN, Tombs, and Slavers' (at least Tombs, don't know if EN and slavers' deserve those statues )
Even without these suggestions, this is still a very good improvement.
Queenie
About time they actually did something good.

Very cool. nice change.

Awesome. simply awesome. Thank you Anet for listening to us. Thank you thank you thank you. Best update since the storage increase.
I can now finally do stuff with my dusty old other characters besides my main warrior again.
I can get elite armor for all my characters, and not feel like I've wasted money.
I can get destroyer weapons for my own characters instead of my main character's heroes.
I can try to go for LDoA and Survivor now
I'm so gonna check out how my 5 elite warrior armors will look on my other 9 characters (I'm guessing elite platemail and elite charr will show the corresponding Granite Citadel and Marhan's Grotto armor for the other professions. simply cool)
Now just make treasure hunter and wisdom account-wide and the HoM is 200% perfect!
Thanks again. I love you!

Since this news clearly states that the unlocks will be account-wide, what about moving these stupid individual titles to account titles?
I'm fed up having to switch between characters only to open chests/id golds etc.

PPL are already QQ'ing about Ursan and SF, i don't want to see the main page list filled with topics about [[Necrosis]
I do like this idea:

So:
I'm not discouraged from playing more than one character. But if I want to transfer GWAMM, I need to do all the titles on a single character.
/facepalm
This is a good update - don't get me wrong. However, the REAL effect of the change is to discourage players from feeling the need to grind max titles on more than one character. In other words, the devs are actually reducing the value of playing with multiple characters (due to max title track synergy), because you're still incentivized to do it all on a single character and there is no incentive for completing titles on multiple characters.

Maybe you just need to display 5 titles on the honor monument to get the respective unlock for GW2. The mechanic what makes a monument "complete" was never officially revealed by Anet. Wiki is just guesswork.
Jongo River
I don't think GWAMM is going to be an issue for many people, but I would be interested to know if there's going to be any change to the way the HoM title monument upgrades based on KoaBD generally. Maybe it could count the titles added to the same effect and giving a sort of pseudo-KoaBD to people who don't want to work on one character?

Guess works is not that much baseless.

Anyway, i thought a bit about it, if GWAMM will have impact, then this is what it removes as "necessary" for main:
* Doing all staue-worthy areas
* Buying 15k armors
* Destroyer weapons.
* Minipets
* Heroes / Multiple pets (yay, i no longer have to abandon my pet on main to have em all!)
However all those grindy nonaccount based titles still would have to be done by single character to fuell GWAMM.
Now, minipets/hero statues do not really require much effort and being able to offload them to secondary characters helps nothing.
15k armors help a bit more as now one can buy armors purely depending on thier taste so their main would not longer have to buy ugly armors just to place to monument, however, offloading this to secondary characters does not really help with making playing then worth more.
Weapon is better, people with multiple characters can now finally buy weapons that those characters will use instead of buying everything on one and having heroes equip em or even trash those weapons for uselessness. But still does not help with playing those characters more.
So, those monuments not make playing non-mains that much worth it because they don't really involve gameplay.
And monument that actually does (titles) still seems to require one main. (Hope i am wrong...)
But it added two titles that are now worth it doing with non-main: LDOA and/or Survivor.

Does this mean that my destroyer weps which are currently in my HoM on my main char. will be uncustomised?

OK....If the HoM is account wide... does that mean that the weps i put in now will still be customised... or due to the update uncustomised..

1. Each individual character will still have his or her own HoM.
2. Titles will not be able to move from character to character, so if you earn survivor on a new character your old character will not be able to show it.
3. When you enter your HoM you will be able to choose between seeing just the achievements of that character or all achievements, your characters' achievements will not be combined together, this is just making it easier to see what you have "unlocked".
4. If you imagine there was a checklist storing what you have unlocked in gw2. Before the update, each individual character had their own checklist. Now, there is only one checklist for the account. so if you have say, sweet tooth in your monk's HoM, it will be checked off on your account list. This does not mean the other characters will be able to add it to their HoM, just that it will be visible when the HoM is set to account wide rather than character only.
5. Before the update, when you connected your GW1 account to your GW2 account it would ask you what character you wanted to use as the ancestor for the new character. It would have then used that particular checklist to decide what unlocks applied to this new character. Now it just uses the account checklist for all new characters. I don’t know if this will mean that you still have to tie each new character to a single existing character or it will make all of your old characters ancestors for every new character.
Well that’s how I see it.

I bet the "...information about the exact rewards for each Hall of Monuments accomplishment..." would be pretty anti-climatic to us all. Imagine the hard to max PvP titles reward is a stupid cape that goes along the lines "I am a Legendary Champion in GW1 and all I have now is this stupid cape... "

I do wonder though if completed titles on other characters will add to your main character's GWAMM track. Probably not, which is kinda disappointing, because you're basically still going to have to play your main character if you're going for GWAMM. But hey, that's a choice everyone can make. I'm not complaining ^^

I think a "My ancestor was a God Walking Amongst Mere Mortals and all he/she left me was this lousy cape" would be awesome dude lol!
I'm hoping for some cool pimpage unlocked stuff like:
Resilience: special armor(s)
Valor: special weapon skins
Fellowship: special hero armor
Devotion: special minipet(s)
Honor: special character title display / statues in GW2 HoM / special charmable pet in HoM like rainbow phoenix / special cape (trim)
And may I suggest: Perhaps even some unique festival event gear for each one you participated in (just have the hat NPC register the hats you have to GW2 for some cool Wintersday / Halloween etc. costumes?)
Yes, the way I see it, they will be.

Looks promising, but lets first see how it will be implemented before I praise Anet amongst the gods. Anet showed to be a master in implementing a good idea in a bad way, so lets hope they fail on that this time and actually do it right.
