I'm happy about every one of the bug fixes but the 3rd one.
Tactics still needs a buff and it would have been nice to see one with all the other skill changes.

This pet buff applies only to pve. PVP pet skills and pet damage/damage resistance remains the same. |
Stop trolling, please.

Great pve update for the rangers. Too bad the pve'rs finished the game two years ago.

as for hb with pets its only apve update

You are right - 4 elites used in PvP/PvE (Evi, BB, ES, DShash), whole line nerfed to hell for years (Tactics), ignored by AI in PvE, lower dmg for single target then assassin, lower AoE dmg then Dervish, useless as second profession (due to stance nerfs even monks rejected this class as secondary), easier to disable then casters (blind/weakness/empathy/parasite/blocking etc)... this list is much longer.

Correction:
The most overpowered class in the game. Huge damage, utility, aoe, prot, knockdown, interrupts, spears, scythes, daggers, they have it all but healing! |
Also, if you are implying skills such as Dolyak Sig and WY are prot, you might just want to take a summer class in Guild Wars 101.

The lack of Lightning Reflexes nerf/revert makes me sad. Rangers were already unspikable when they ran natty+troll if you weren't retarded, now you can be retarded and still be unspikable.

Seed of Life BUFFED? lol!
Stranger The Ranger
They nerfed Melshot but they didn't nerf Mind Blast
lol

I'd say it was a buff. It no longer ends if you heal yourself or use a non-target spell like Aegis or Heal Party and can be maintained all of the time now.

EDIT: Apparently I'm wrong NVM, IT ROCKS NOA
Rampage
Yeah, that was my reaction too. Apparently it wasn't powerful enough.
But hey, ANet hit it on the dartboard, so it had to be buffed!
Continue ignoring the issues at hand (maintainable invincibility, elite areas being completed in <20 minutes) and keep using power creep as a solution to fix the already horrible PvE gameplay and design.

Warriors are designed to do big damage, KD, and every core class can carry utility. Warrior AoE sucks (lolcycloneaxe). Warriors can't prot shit, unless you count Defy Pain, but then you do shit for damage. The only decent interupts warriors have are Savage and DChop. Warriors using off profession weapons suck.

Interesting update, there are some new possibilities to try out. Pets are more fun now in PvE. Now I have to decide on what kind of petpack I will use for me and my heroes
Back then
There's no pleasing you guys...
This is a very good update. Pets got a huge buff, and WOW @ masochism and divine boon. Too bad I don't have EOTN for masochism though

A good update would consist of balancing skills that need to be addressed, not using power creep to ignore them. Sure, it pleases the people who need PvE to be easier, but as far as quality goes, this is quite low on the scale.

Finale of Restoration: increased recharge to 20 seconds. Functionality changed to: "For 10..35 seconds, the next 5 times that a chant or shout ends on target non-spirit ally, that ally is healed for 15..75 Health." |
Quote:
* Shroud of Distress: functionality changed to: "For 30..60 seconds, if you are below 50% Health, you have +3..8 Health regeneration and a 75% chance to block attacks. * Signet of Deadly Corruption: no longer follows a dual attack. * Unseen Fury: increased recharge to 20 seconds. Functionality changed to: "All adjacent foes are Blinded for 3..10 seconds. For 10..30 seconds, you cannot be blocked by Blinded foes." |
No one will use Signet of Deadly Corruption because Shadowform assassins use Sliver Armor to deal damage.
No one will use Unseen Fury because why you'd bother wasting a skill slot blinding enemies that can't hit you through Shadowform anyway is beyond me.

I still question why people are saying I'm trolling though. Maybe wars just look good on paper and I haven't compared with other professions, but they look real good to me and they do a lot for the team as well as have many, many toys accessible to them.
Want KD? Pop in Earth shaker.
Want aoe? Pop in Hundred blades+Whirlwind attack+Mark of Pain
Want big dommage? Pop in WE Scythe
Want daze spam? Pop the infamous stunning strike SY spammer.
Want god mode? Pop Dragon slash SY spam
Also, last I checked, didn't people qq that wars outclass a dervish? Now people are saying dervish outdamages a warrior?

Well I'm not up to date on what some of the skill balance issues are, so I can't really comment on that. The bug fixes were nice, mainly the fix for SoS as well as the buff to pets.
TBH I wasn't really expecting an update today, and when I saw this thread, I imagined the only thing included was the tonic swap. Still looking forward to the content update.

The Ele and Sin updates cracked me up. Basically "We are trying to make Sins and Aeros better at AoE"? *laughing spasm* That is not their job... yeah, sins aren't as good at PvE as at PvP, but they have their uses - either blow through the game like a lazy person with a perma or use them to spike down the monks, bam! done. And Air is for spiking... you want AoE, go fire (or Water or Earth if you are fighting Titans/Destroyers). Why eliminate the niches of the different elements?

People say you're trolling because you say warriors are the most overpowered class in the game, which is probably one of the stupidest things I've heard in awhile. If you honestly think that warriors are the most overpowered class in the game, then you clearly do not have a clue about balance of any sort.

Doesn't everyone have their own favorite class they think is insanely overpowered?
Oh, right. GWG101. GW iz srsbsnss.

Not a bad update, but I won't call it good either considering the results of past dartboard buffs. Chain and Invoke Lightning in particular strike me as problematic (2005, anyone?). RoJ monks are now just as viable as before with Earthen Shackles. Selfless Spirit and pet buffs are just lol - but then, it's PvE.
As I see it, there are really only two good things in this update:
1. Melshot nerf - hopefully rangers will start using a number of different elites again.
2. The assassin buffs in PvE may be a preface to nerfing Shadow Form, by giving assassins other options.
Still no change to Mind Blast... oh well, I'll continue to abuse it then.
