Red Resigns: What will Anet do about this?

Honestly I wouldn't even bother playing if I was bad enough to get into rr range. Generally (from what I've seen at least) people who actually fight normally don't rr. So really even if most people in hb rr then you should still be fine because you'll only get people with a close rating to your own.

Chris mistook my post for making fun of the guy, I was really just trying to prove a point.

I'm in about 1000-2000 range. I've heard that RR range is only 950-999 but I still come across many people demanding red resign and wishing me a happy RR day, so I don't really think it's restricted to any rating group.

LOL. This has to be one of the stupidest and most hilarious posts in the history of this forum. Congrats. Am I the only one who finds it hilarious that not cheating is considered griefing now?

To people suggesting "fixes" to this problem, you are wasting your time. To people saying rr isn't cheating because Anet isn't banning for it, you are retarded. To people saying they shouldn't ban because the game would be dead, you are also retarded.

All that happened here is Anet sponsered and promoted cheating. The game has gone down the shitter, and this is the epitome.

Sounds like it's time to break out Scott Adams' "Which is more likely?" test. All you need to do to apply it is append "Which is more likely" to the front of each proposition and draw your conclusions. This one's pretty obvious. Either it's all part of ANet's intricate master plan, or the devs just don't care about GW1 any more.

Question: Is leaving like 2-3 min into a match considered exploiting the system?

RR Day from my perspective:

Well, I've never done RR before. As a matter of fact, I've never done any HB before. I guess I'm what you'd call a PVE scrub. I've dabbled in RA and AB. I really enjoy HA when I can convince my guild to go, which isn't often and I'm only Rank 3 there so I don't have the rank to join winning teams without guildies. HB, however, never really sparked my interest.

So I've heard about RR and decided, what the heck. I'll try it once. I went in today with my alt account which I quickly discovered had about 20 skills unlocked. LOL, try putting together a decent Hero team with those stats. It felt like sealed deck. I cobbled something together and made my way over to the battles.

I was nervous going in. I didn't know the maps and I didn't know what to expect. Would everyone resign? Would I need to fight most matches? Do I resign immediately or after the gate opens? And I know PvP players are plenty rude to us that don't know what we're doing.

For my first match, I was blue and the red guy left immediately. No resign, he just left. Ok, that seemed simple enough. Next game, I was Red and I left. Next time I was blue and red stayed to fight. He quickly won.

I ended up having to fight about a 3rd of the time this afternoon when the Z quest first started, but you know what....it was fun! I didn't run into any snobs that cussed me at for being a horrible player and I actually won about half of those fights. (Yeah, that's pretty sad when you don't resign yet you get beaten by a PvE scrub with about 20 skills to pick from.)

About a half hour into it, I decided to use a bit of that faction on skills. I looked up a promising build on pvxwiki and unlocked the needed skills and runes. It worked great after a few adjustments for personal preference.

All in all, I had a great time. If I was red, I left. If I was blue I won with no contest most of the time. Occasionally I fought, and didn't do too badly. I have no problems with people that stay to fight. You can't force someone to resign and I don't think it's right to get mad at someone because they want to win.

Why would you wait to rr day to "play" hb? You farm the quest like everyone else get real.

unless you are hording 20 stacks of zkeys, you have no reason to hate RR day, it doesnt not affect you in any major way... fight them when you are red doesnt do anything, 95% of the people are RRing, it doesnt matter if you want to prove a point or whatever

in terms of being "not normal gameplay", GW is no longer what it used to be 3-4 years ago, there is nothing left to do except farming/running/speedclearing/grinding, just dull, and dead, if people find RR fun, let them, its not like there is anything else left to do lol... if RR is gone, people will just go back to their regular routine

A good old server rollback (3-5 months) would be a statement from Anet. Clean start, I'm sure the real fairplay people wouldn't mind as it's for a good cause.

Maybe for badness Anet will come back with, we warned you RR was cheating, so now we changed SF to have a 60 second recharge time, happy UWSC to all.

Well if you looked about, you would see Anet are having issues with some peoples accounts being caught up a bot script and being banned, several innocent people have reported the same thing and had there account unbanned.

Well i guess i will put my two cents in on this as well. imo i see nothing wrong with RR.
1. Price of keys going down ( thats a +)
2. Price of ectos going up ( thats a +)
3. Giving PvEer the chance of getting a title before it is removed (thats a +)

Now keep in mind it's just my opinion. But i think we need to give Anet some credit. In the long run i'm pretty sure they know what thet are doing.

They get plenty of well deserved credit for letting a darn good game slip into a degenerate farmfest on several fronts. This game culture has done a complete 180 in the last two years due to neglect.

There is more love on RR day than on Christmas. And in a game such as Guild Wars, which has so badly lost its way as far as good player-player interaction is concerned, this love is welcomed - despite is dubious foundation.

Yes, I did contact support immediately. They've replied to me after a few hours about escalating my ticket to a senior to be reviewed but I'm still waiting.
This doesn't seem to be widespread... There's something they didn't like about my RRing. Like fighting if the other guy wanted to fight or pm'ing a small "Thanks, happy day" if the other guy surrendered (90% of the time?)... Very bot like, right? lol

Anyway, apparently no one cares enough to reply. I have at least vented and are waiting for a resolution for my account.
Unbelievable how they chose that account for the "looks-like-a-bot-ban-hammer". I'm pretty sure there are guys out there much more effective and quicker than me. Sometimes upon getting on a fight I'd be all alone without any xxx joined/left messages (the guy got in a went away quickly?) and on other occasions if the battle started red or blue would leave when I just rushed in for the caps.

Actually i'm your same range, and in those two days i played every game i joined; none resigned when i was blue, and when i was red someone every now and then asked rr? or whished happy rr day, but no one flamed me when i didn't resigned.

If you face some pve crap like sabway, the guy is most likely 20000, not 950-999 rating.

Well, it looks like RR is over for good if the update goes in this week. Then again how often have we thought that xx RR day was the last?

Anet clearly encouraged this by not doing anything ingame about it. Severe action would be stupid at this point.

Simple, Remove TA, HB, add SD.

I entered on my lvl 12 ranger survivor with his lvl10ish heroes and there was this guy that REFUSED to leave as a red so "I" had to leave and then wait a few more rounds before winning!

C'mon guys we've been through alot worse than this before- Money-happy SFers and ofc the rule-breaking dupers.

When HB is taken away it will take time to recover the z-key price. Lets hope XTH is taken away for another year as punishment for peoples disloyalty

Personally: If you are lame enough to make cheap money like this then you might aswell go play another game. Your ruining it for people that have been playing GW for along time (Personally over 4 years), go play WoW and wreck that up.

As long as there's easymode gain via zquests the rolling will continue, it'll just move to SD once HB is kicked to the curb.

I think you're confusing rating (higher is better) with rank (low is better)... unless you mean someone running Sabway in HB can dominate it.
