Last (?) Halloween Quest

Dhumm NEEDS to look like this.
Mustache Mayhem
I think he'll look like a reaper.. but they'll add a bigger budge on the lower half of the skirt
Sora267
My New Name
if he looked like reaper it would be rly retarded
reaper is an avatar of grenth his nemesis...
makes no sense

bloodvayne
TBH I'm betting he'll just be some grim reaper with a dervish, with maybe a little GW flair like the Mad King Thorn has. Fits the original god of death theme AND the halloween theme.
His skeletal minions are probably just smaller, less armored versions of him

I want an epic plot when Mad King is Dhuum itself. Mad King betrayed grenth and stuff.
own age myname
My guess on what Dhuum will look like;
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Scyth...haos_(Dervish)
^He'll be a giant Scythe of Chaos.

i hope the way they willcall us is a world wide thing like they did with the emperor. it would suck if you only see it in town. lols. cause then half of gw would miss it.

Are those Gods? Angels are Gods? Dryads? Learn something new everyday. I could swear Angels were "ranked" under God.
That said, it's normal to take inspiration from other Gods when making a new one. Take Christianity and Pagans as an example.

I wish they'd just tell us already. With something that sounds like it will so exciting, I wouldn't want to miss out on it. I really like GW and I'm really excited about GW2. But apparently we're not allowed to have lives. Kinda need to know roughly when it is. If someone asks to hang out, I can't say "I will in about 6 days, but maybe not, depending on this event (Haha!)" or if someone has a quick job for me tomorrow, I can't say yes or no because I don't know if the event is tomorrow.
GRR!!
Sorry this sounds so angry; It's not really what I'm feeling, it's just that I don't want to miss it!! :P

It's a sad indication of the game when GW players can't have just one unsolved mystery in the game. People are so dependent on Wiki and guides, that they can't stand the fact that there is something not explained right away.

I'm not sure it's like that, in case you're referring to my post.
Imagine there's this one grand event, the experience is fantastic, the reward good too. Not saying it will or will not be. But it will only last 1 hour, and you'll never be able to experience again.
Everyone's raving about it. But you don't know what's going on, because you're stuck with Aunt Bertha 400 miles away from the nearest computer :P
Wouldn't you be just a little sad you missed on the fantastic event?
It doesn't have anything to do with TELL ME WHAT THE QUEST IS RIGHT NOW!!!, AND EXACTLY HOW TO DO IT.
It's just being afraid to miss something cool. With this much mystery, it must be worth experiencing.
Guild wars for me is a good way to get away from "life" for a bit. I was really upset about not getting the witches hat in GW, and since then I never want to miss anything exciting in GW :P

Well it's obvious that the Dhuum quest was supposed to happen about a week ago and that they having issues implementing it. This Waiting Game quest is just something they've quickly thrown in to buy more time to fix the real quest.
So yeah the first part of the comic doesn't exactly apply, but still do in a 'invisible way', we've not seen the error codes, but they are obviously there and the QQ is on.

How so?

I must have missed something.

What was the real quest? Was it given by the Steward?
And why are people QQ about a bad quest? It's just a game.

Because it was the 4th and final quest in the Mad King chain (Regina stated there would be 4 before the first one even appeared)
Uhhhh.....that it's taken an extra week to get it working? The disappearing and reappearing Steward? The real quest has yet to arrive, hence The Waiting Game ................................. |
Still no reason to freak out, /me things :-/ Problems arise here and there, could be a much worse problem *shrug*

its not so much the problem as that anet wont just come out with it and admit they had problems with the game. its not just this quest but a collection of minor problems with the game and anet will not admit they are having trouble with any of them, which is pissing people off cause they suck at hiding it

Here's the thing. Previous posts have mentioned problems with this quest or with the game causing people to be angry with Anet or whomever they feel is responsible. I would like to remind these people that:
1. You are playing a game. It's a great game. But it's still a game.
2. People who make this game don't owe you anything; if nothing else, they have bent over backwards to provide continued maintenance and support DESPITE the fact there is no monthly subscription fee.
3. If you know so well what they are not doing "correctly" or "fast enough," then where is your game that you have made? Put your money where your mouth is.
I think it's a shame that the community finds ways to complain about things when it's meant to be fun and exciting. It's like childbirth in a way. Spend a lot of time waiting for it to happen, which granted can be a little frustrating, but then when it finally happens, it's like nothing in this world; and it's a little more special because you couldn't just have it happen right when you wanted it to.
Appreciate what you have and that these people have given of themselves to make a game we still enjoy playing!

Everyone on Guru is all "gimme gimme gimme, tell me whats gonna happen or you suck at doing your job" thats not how it should be. This quest is meant to be suspenseful, hence the name, and the wait time should have never been revealed.
The fact that it is a cliffhanger should give the message to players: "oh we have to wait, I don't want to wait but I guess I have no choice". Maybe it sucks, but you shouldnt complain or whine if you dont get your way. Like Sagra said, there is no monthly fee, that reason alone should allow you guys to have enough respect for ArenaNet to not complain to them about something you disagree with.

Also, these are faithful customers that Anet is trying to hold onto until GW2 comes along. Kind of a catch22 if you think about it (Anet wants to keep players interested, so they put a very tiny group together that has to fix the problems that the old team created...and still provide content...)

This is a stupid argument, and so is every permutation of it. Do I need to be a professional chef in order to know and tell someone they can't cook worth shit?

Same thing with Guild Wars. We don't pay monthly fees. However anet is STILL giving us new things to do. They are doing things for us for free. And for that I can't thank them enough, even if they make mistakes once in awhile. (not saying they do or do not)
WarcryOfTruth
Well if you say something like that you obviously think you can cook better than them, and if it were me personally, I'd call your bluff

If ANET did nothing and no content was released then this game would be dead and buried within 6 months.

Yep I am sure most players appreciate what there doing when it comes to some more content, the bottom line is though there doing it for the business and naught else, there payed to keep us the players happy and ticking along until GW2 is released.

you clearly have no idea what hardcore gw players are nor how many there are |
You would be visibly blind not to realise that the game is old and decaying and in need of GW2 to keep the players who are not "hardcore" intrested in the series. You might not agree with me but that however is your perogative.
Anyway back on topic, looking forward to the quest, I am hopefull it will be this evening.

You are mad that quest is a bit late? /boo to you I say.
Well, I for one, am quite happy about it.
Why? I had next to no time to participate in event, so I pretty much missed all the quests and even logging in to AFK for hats stressed my schedulle. Ability to get at least one last quest is awesome.
If I would have to complain about something it would be the fact that Four other quests were right on time and that they were avaiable only once, so I would never experience THOSE. Which is /boo; new content is scarce as it is, no need to make interesting quests only to throw them away after one week.
