Summary for those who are too lazy to try things out:

1. Earth and Wind attributes got massive buffs. In particular, Earth, with VOS and other AOE based enchants.

2. Scythe attribute got nerfed bad. Half of the previous skills got changed to adrenaline, which is a bit too much. Secondly, MOST of the skills remove a useful derv enchant like VOS, Onslaught, (fit YOUR enchant skill here). Therefore, it discourages bringing a majority of the scythe skills. Only zealous XXXX skills save the scythe line. Most skills also do LESS damage than before.

3. Mysticism got buffed in terms of description, adding armor which is ok I guess. Avatars got buffed in terms of cost and recharge but their functionalities got nerfed. A number of scythe skills got moved to mysticism....

4. Luxon/Kurz and Sunspear skills for derv got nerfed the most. they are both useless skills now for high-speed PvE HM teams. I guess, noobs will like them because it gives instant-rez.

Dervs can no longer cause BIG SPIKES (200+) in HM. They can, however, use VoS to cause smaller spikes in increased frequency.

Overall, Derv was nerfed. Thanks ANET for permanently ruining this class. Only good job was the work on "flash enchants" but everything else was done badly. If this is what they can "accomplish" in one year..., it tells a lot about their quality of work or enthusiasm in general.

Lastly, sins/warrior can nicely abuse the new Earth line.

Well, the biggest hit that WE scythe wars took was the lose of AS and AoHM. I switched out Eremite and Mystic Sweep for Counterattack and Victorious Sweep. I put in pain inverter and brawling headbutt to replace the aforementioned nerfed PvE skills, gonna miss the damage.

Dervishes can permanently maintain %50 movement speed,
WTB permanent %50 movement speed for my assassin please.
Lets not forget that mobs do not like to keep aggro on you when you use dash for instance so with pious assault, you'll be loosing aggro quite easily.
Easy running?
Vow of silence + 2 enchants, pious and just run? Melee's not going to keep up with you, and with permanent %50 you can strafe arrows with ease.

Anyways I love avatar of lyssa, I made a bar with no attacks, completely forgetting them because I just had fun spamming enchants O_O.

lol guys, 8 D/W dervs with Dwanya + SY + BUH + Asuran scan. Dervs can now party heal as well or better and prot as well or better than any other class in the game, AT THE SAME TIME. Throw in conviction and you are immune to both hexes and conditions. Easiest to run noobway ever?

You know, I felt the exact same way when I logged in to see how they had updated Dervishes today. I was very excited about flash enchantments beforehand and had been playing a Dervish all week in both PvE and PvP settings in anticipation of this update. After seeing how the skills have been changed, though, I can't stand the thought of playing a Dervish any more.

For me, I think the worst of it is the overemphasis on swinging a scythe around. I never liked playing as a melee attacker for more than a few minutes at any given time and most of my dervish caster options seem to have been tossed out the window with the adrenaline costs and lowered damage on the new flash enchantments to compensate for scythe attacks. I feel like I'm playing a Warrior now with severe restrictions on diversity.

I hope Dervish enthusiasts find this update to their liking, but I pray that if they do decide to update my Paragon and Ranger one day, it won't look anything like this.

Whoops, mixed up melandru/Dwanya.

But to boil it down:
+50 party heal everytime you lose enchant
lose hex everytime you cast enchant
Entire party at just under 200 armor
Entire party chain ressing each other at full health/energy every 7.5 seconds, and getting +33% damage.
Entire party removing conditions at will.
Entire party losing 5 DP per kill.

What can seriously stop this? Keep in mind that NONE of this takes away from hitting things, these characters are all full power melee physicals that take exactly 0 time to do all of this at once.

Throw in everyone taking Sand Shards. It will do 90 AoE damage per hit 10x with BUH, per player.

Didn't seem like a terribly hard thing to do since flash enchants are uninterruptible and you can get up to 80% block rate on a dervish.

I might just use my Dervish as a raptor farmer now, wasn't too impressed with the hassle of the W/N farm

i dont know if this is a bug or no. but when i was doing the quest from nf to eotn i used a golem stone and it appeared on my allie list. and a guildie said they used a summon and it too appeared on their list.

I swaped nerfed things for couterattack, victorious, i am strongest (i always run drunken master + SY).

Less damage but still effective.

One of the things that's jumped in my mind now is how the new Scythe mobs will be like to fight against. Like the various bosses on HM and DoA.

Getting through all the mobs on Drakkar Lake to kill Myish will probably be a completely new experience...

Dervish was already a OP class at PvE before the update. It only became obsolete because W/D and A/D were totally better.

This update is extremely good because it nerfs the hell out of scythe warriors, scythe sins and dervishes damage, while at the same time making dervishes extremely good at other things.

Dervish became an extremely versatile and fun profession, while at the same time stopped being both a OP damaging profession and a OP damaging profession obsolete by better options.

Onslaught is pre-nerf Primal Rage that can be removed but also doesn't need a cancel. Vow of Strength is a nearly 100% maintainable Hundred Blades with a weapon that can strike multiple times. Vow + Whirlwind will be rape.

And several others. Interesting update. Unlike Mesmer, where I could see builds popping up in my head, I think I'll just wait and see what the rest of the community makes out of this one. Should be fun.

So since the update, my survivor died. when i typed in /deaths it now reads "You have died 1 time and have gained experience since death." Does that mean they're changing survivor to only meaning you gain 1,337,000 exp without dying and not since lvl1?

I'm going to assume BUH will only affect dead party members when this skill is first activated. It would be pretty funny to see the same SOB die then auto res a few moments later only to die again within the 30 second duration...even funnier to see an entire party die/res/die/repeatedly. Let's equip a full party with this skill and sit on top of the res shrine outside Ember Light Camp and see how long and how many times we can die/res as a collective group. LOL. Post it on youtube.

That should be pretty ridiculous when you run multiples together. 8 of these output almost 100 health healed per second (just by spamming flash enchants) while under completely untouchable coverage of SY. Intimidating Aura and Asuran scan are mostly for the lulz of over the top invincibility, you can easily take more effective skills in their place and abuse BUH more without IA.

More realistically, throw in 1/2 characters covering Strength of Honor/GDW/Splinter weapon and whatever other crap you have. Perhaps have a Melandru dervish to give condition invincibility.

It works because where BUH says it only affects party members, it should say that it affects party members and allied spirits. Does not work with minions, though. Yes, this lets Anguish hit for well over 100 damage when combined with SoGM.

Such as the asura summons, summoning stones, ebon vanguard support.
They are revived and then boosted.

Can it resurrect unofficial allies though?
Like Togo, Mhenlo and other npc assistants?

Lolololololol, was using Feast of Souls just for giggles, I got it up to about 4000 health, before all the spirits "corpses" were unable to be ressed.
