CEs will probably be region specific, and contents will probably vary.

But if the CE doesn't include some sort of ingame bonus (a weapon, "aura", shield, pet, whatever) then it's not really worth buying IMO.

What I'd LIKE to see is characters displaying an overall glow (much like a boss monster) but a lot more subdued, perhaps a shimmering effect or your dye job glows slightly, etc.

THAT would be a must have, for those of us that are vain.

Hello,

I've recently purchased a preorder of Guild Wars: Factions, and have added the Factions preorder access key to my account. However, there have been a few anomalies that I feel contribute to my not having the full benefit of this access:

-There are no special features mentioned in "manage access keys." I would assume that had my key been properly taken, the preorder items would be listed here.

-My preorder items DO appear, on newly created pvp or RP characters. HOWEVER, my current RP characters may not obtain the items. I have used /presale and /preorder in the cities of Lion's Arch and Ascalon with 2 free inventory slots and no success.

-My preorder insightful staff (ritualist item) does not give me the full benefit of its stats. I only gain 5 energy from equipping the item when I should be getting +15. Additionally, the staff's projectile is an arrow, and not a "darkness" projectile as indicated in the item's stats.

Thank you for any response that may help me fix these problems,

Well the factions pre-order just showed up on Futureshop.ca. $69.99...... wow did they get this price right? Amazon has it for $59.99. Hell, Oblivion is only $59.99.

kool. I was waiting for futureshop.ca to finally have something.

now the odd parts.

-display box cover is preorder package cover. (nothing confirmed about this yet, but from ch.1 preorder package was not same as full game box. not that important either, but just to point out)

-price. $69.99 and at the side says, guaranteed low price, they can beat competitors....ie. Amazon.ca has it for $59.99. (everyone knows what will hapen.

yup. US.Amazon realized their error there. The preorder pack w/ the full game should still be priced at normal price (like everyone else), their error was they accidently made it look more like a discount before. (They should just have said, preordering full game gets auto preorder package. That's what it should be anyways.)

added: Reklis, maybe their going to do it like instore preordering. You are going to pay $5 deposit (get preorder pack), and pay/charge the rest of the cost, when they ship the full game to you later on.

Thanks for the info, I'm not so worried about missing out on the access key for the march 24th event because I already have access to that through owning GW. I just dont want to miss out on any of the cool extra stuff, or getting Factions 24hours earlier

Only reason I bought first CE, was the inclusion of the Art Book and OST. Couldn't care less about the stupid shiny hands

I like the presumed contents of this CE though

But still, main reason for me to buy it will be the art book

Everyone is complaining about EB games not getting the preorders in when Best Buy and such have them.

After inquiring EB Games (my local one) they said they were told it'd be an Online Exclusive for their store (as in the actual stores would not have them).

I Emailed EB Game's main office for product support and they said "Thank you for contacting EBgames.com. We do not have any information on
a bonus for this item. Please keep checking the web site as we will
update it if we receive any new information."

If I buy collectors edition I want to be able to use the /yulecap command so all my new chars can tote around the hat too :P Oh and can you buy a CE pre-order now even though they haven't told us what's in it? In Australia, EB have exclusive sales rights to Guild Wars. Where I live, in a major city, the nearest EB is 500km away. I had to buy GW from Ebay, my chances of getting a pre-order of Factions are zero.

EB would be probably the worst possible choice to distribute a game in Australia.

I talked to my local EB guy he said they were converting to gamestops computer system and SKU's etc... he said unless he is mistaken they should carry everything gamestop carries. He also said only actual products will come out this week. Pre orders will be held off at the wharehouse until they get the conversion complete. He told me to check back Thursday or friday. I got the preorder (regular edition) from Best buy, but was gonna get the collectors from EB since I could go downstairs at work.

their is no way at this time to per-orde the collectors edition of factions, but when the offical game comes out, you can pick up the CE then. It might be up next week or so, since they are going to offical announce what will be in it.

Last Sunday, I went to EB to preorder Factions but all I received was a receipt saying I deposited $5. I tried to ask the lady about the preorder kits but she said she didn't know when they would come in. After that, she said the game would arrive in May. Yes, it was a sort of WTF moment for me.

Upon coming home, I went to browse the forums of Guru and read the discontent of our fellow players who have experienced the same WTF moments as me with EB. So, I decided that I must take action and conduct an investigation. I called EB this morning and asked if the preorder kits came in today. The female employee over the phone responded to my question along the lines like this: "WTH is preorder kit? We don't get no goddayum preorder box. You want preorder?! You can reserve a copy today with us! We call you when game arrive." Of course, I am bending the way she talked a bit. She actually sounded quite nice.

So just an hour ago, I went back to the mall and got my money back from EB. It was a different employee this time. I also tried to explain to her about the preorder package and how some of the content in it can only be accessed month's time before the actual release date. I think I spoke to her in a gentle and kind manner but her eyes were widened and she looked frightened. She replied with: "We don't get preorder kits for Guild Wars. I don't know anything about preorder kits." Right then and there, I had enough of EB and asked for my money back. Before leaving, I asked her if EB and Gamestop were one company now. She said, "Sorta."

Shortly after, I went across the balcony to Gamestop. In the back, they had a glass case, and inside was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen: the Factions preorder box! I asked one of the gentlemen there if those were the preorder kits. And damnit, it wasn't. They told me that the real kits have not arrived yet but if I were to reserve my copy today, they would PERSONALLY call ME when the KITS arrive. The supplies of the preorder kits are actually limited and it is a RESERVE FIRST basis. Immediately after, I gave the guy my $5 and some of my personal information. He gave me a receipt but I didn't have to sign it. THIS IS QUALITY SERVICE, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN. QUALITY SERVICE!

So in conclusion: GAMESTOP FTW!

it seems everyone from my guild is getting it at best buys. When GuildWars Chapter 1 Came out i got my pre-order at bestbuys as well and they seemed to know what was going on.
