Damn yanks are right. I guess we Canadians are backwards after all. Funny how EB, Futureshop.ca, and Amazon.ca all have listings for GWF now, but bestbuy.ca doesn't seem to have a clue. Even funnier still considering bestbuy and futureshop are owned by the same people..... but it's an ingenious strategy. We have a futureshop AND a best buy in the same bloody mall here less than half a block apart. They're giving the illusion of competition but in the end, the same people end up with your money. As close to a monopoly without being a monopoly as you can get hehe. So maybe futureshop.ca is purposely advertizing a higher price of $69.99 so they'll make everybody flock to best buy. Unfortunately I can't really take advantage of this since I only have a gift card for futureshop.... bah.
As for the /preorder command, didn't gaile say something about how the preorder items aren't even supposed to be working yet?

I kinda wish we had info on the CE by now. That way the SKU would be in systems and we'd have an easier time seeing which retailers would carry it and what the price would be.
Edit: Also - in the Triangle, NC area, Best Buy seems to have gotten preorders, but not GameStop or EBGames.

Well, my Gamestop has YET to receive the Pre-order package. I've called every day, and today I was told that today was the SHIP date for the pre-order, that it would be yet ANOTHER week before they received them.
I'm a bit frustrated because of this. I'm going away for 10 days next week, (will be on a much needed vacation out of the country), and I arrive back the day the FPE begins (I'm going to miss the first 18 hrs of it because I'll be on a plane). My Best Buy doesn't have it either.
So just WHERE am I supposed to get my pre-order package? And WHEN?

Well I hate to say I pre-ordered early at amazon for 39.99 and don't know if I will get the pre-order box. A friend of mine works at Target and said he will hold a pre-order box for me in case I don't get one from Amazon. Guess that will have to do.

On the website it says you have to pick up a copy of GW: Factions after you get the pre-order package. You will get 48 Early Access time it says.

So if i get the pre-order i only get a beta version of the game but i stil have to wait for the actual game to come out then order that? I dont really understand this :P, or when u pre-order u get a beta key that will turn into a full key when the game comes out.

Yep Bestbuy seams to be the best place to go. The pre-order is just a beta version of the game, But once you pre-order you put a downpayment on the full version of the game. So when it comes out you that money goes toward it and then you have to pay the rest of the money owed.

I have to say that the meatbags at Future Shop and Best Buy up here in Calgary, Alberta (Canada) don't have a clue about the Factions pre-order kits....I've been to 3 Future Shops and 2 Best Buys...and all 5 locations gave me the same BS response...."we're not taking pre-orders" or "it's not in our systems yet" (even though when they looked it up in their system, it was there)....and the final straw.....one guy even had the nerve to tell me that they weren't authorized to start doing pre-orders for the game....
I know somebody that works at EB and I have a pre-order with them as they know what is going on with the Factions pre-orders..
I find that some/most of the Future Shop/Best Buy employees come from the same barrel....Dumb as a rock....

I've had a similar experience in Prince George, BC Aragorn, except when it comes to EB. At the two locations here, as of yesterday, they had no clue. At one location, the guy went into their "system" and came back with "it's not due out until May, so you'll be able to pre order it as we get closer to the release."
I said "thank you" and left. EB in Canada is totally clueless as well.

I went in on Feb 28th to see when the preorder package would be in. They said today, March 8th. I just got off the phone with them and they said they won't be in until the 12th. Meanwhile people who ordered online are already playing.

I went to my local Gamestop and they had not even heard of Fractions and said it was not even on their computer as a future release. They sell basic guild wars however, which is no use to me. I probably have to order from amazon now as the nearest pc game selling shop is 80mls away. Anyone else in ireland having problems?

Okay, I've read several threads (including the detailed info on the factions release) and I can't get an answer to my question.

Well after running to circut city, comp USA, and Best Buy, none had it. So i went to another Best buy and they had it. How sad, but i have it now, so i'm all set.

My advice - create a separate account for the weekend, just don't get too attached to the characters.

Thanks! I'll merge the pre-order with my existing account then.
I plan on merging accounts anyway once I get my full factions retail version. I just hope that the 6 slot merge takes place before the offical release date, since the people that pre-order get to play 24 hours earlier than everyone else. I would really like to get a head start. If I have to wait until the official release date to play my 6 merged character slots I will be disappointed.

when u check out on the bill it adds the price of ground shipping then subtracts it again...for sum reason...lol...it only works with standard shipments though if u get one or 2 day mail u gotta pay shipping

I have Best Buy, Circuit City, EB Games and GameStop here and none of them have the preorder in their store. Game Stop is the only one that expects to get it but they can't tell me when. What is going on?

Now, this could either simply mean that you get 2 additional slots if you link your account. But what I first thought when I saw it was this: That you get an additional THIRD slot by linking with a CE edition.
Why did I think this?
The CE has no ingame features listed. GW:P CE had the Divine Aura thing when you do an emote. But this has nothing else listed than "Key for additional Character Slots". So maybe this will be the ingame feature. Being able to have a 7th/5th character on your linked/unlinked account!
So, is this already confirmed? If not, could the ANet staff please confirm this? And do you believe it is plausible?

I just rang my EB Games store in Queens Plaza, Brisbane.
I had already reordered my copy of Factions a few weeks ago, I rang EB Games this morning and asked about the Factions Preorder Kit and she knew exactly what I was talking about, it came up in the system and everything!
She also said they hadn't recieved the kits and should be getting them in within the next few weeks [!!]. I already have my copy reserved she said becuase I have preordered.
So Aussies... All is not lost!!

Its possible that you can only get the extra spot if you have both CE...Not just one...It would be a nice move. But fryday we will found out the truth. Thats when their going to tell us what will offical be in the CE:F...till then sit down and lay back and wait.

Dunno... It seemed to me that ANet was pretty clear that we would only recieve an additional 2 character slots by linking our Factions accout with an existing GW account. Those that choose to play Factions as a stand alone get 4 accounts. I wish we could get a character slot for each profession...
