I think Anet should lift up the Holy Veil and place a clear explanation on its homepage what will happen next, cause many people are speculating what is gonna happen and it does not make it any clearer. Since all players are Anet customers we simply deserve clear information about the product. Who wants to buy a product without proper information?
If Anet continues like this many (including me) players will choose for another product instead of guildwars.
Many question are given without clear official answers.
About Merging/Combining/Linking accounts.
1) Is it possible to combine two Chapter 1 accounts to a larger account? And lateron upgrade it with one (or two) Chapter 2 account(s)?
Some players claimed it is possible with one normal and one CE account, creating a large Chapter 1 with 8 slots with only one login, so that you do not need to switch between different accounts. No confirmation from aNet, yet.
2) Combining one Chapter 1 with one Chapter 2 account will creat a larger 6 slots Chapter 1+2 account. Please confirm the six slots. Is it true that in the two Chapter 2 slots added only Assassins and Ritualists primary profession can be made, ie one is needed for PvP and one you can use for PvE? or is the 6 slots combined available to any of the 8 primary professions, ie you can creat 5 PvE slots with any of the eight primary professions and one PvP slot that can reroll to any profession (primary and secondary)?
3) In case of merging (if possible) what happened to the items ingame? Like friendslist, Fame, Rank etc??
4) Till now you can switch 5x from districts. What happened if you buy Chapter 2? Does it reset the times you have changed, since many players would like to have it reset.

Ok, here's my question. I hope it hasn't already been covered TOO many times. >.<
Alright, so let's say I pre-order Factions, and get the box and all the goodies. I add my Factions account to my Prophecies account right away, combining the two immediately. First off, you CAN do that, right? Second, what happens with the slots? I know that the six won't be available right away, but I am wondering if my two extra slots will be usable during the Beta event? Then I won't have to get an alternate account just to participate...
Hopefully that made sense... sort of a complicated question. :-P

K, most of my questions have been cleared up except for one. Is there a pre-order package for the CE of factions out yet anywhere? If not is there anywhere that has just the pre-order package for GW:F.

This link says that if I order I will get the pre-order package, but it also seems to imply that it will ship at the same time as GW:Factions itself, which kind of negates the 24 hour early access you should get. Has anyone bought this, and if so, tell me how it went?

You can add the pre-order key to you GW account, but you don't need to do this to access the preview event.
One of the FAQ's says that you won't get the extra slots for the preview event.
If you set up an alternate account using the pre-order key, you cannot merge that account later, and you will only have the pre-order ingame items on that account. If you have no space on your main account, the easiest way to access the preview event is to send youself one of your invites and use that to set up an alternate account.

i had a look and it seems what you get is the actual game, to be delivered when it is actually released. The pre-order pack will say it is a pre-order pack, and looks different, plus it is released on march 31st

If you get the pre-order package and register the pre-order key to your account, then you will be allowed to play 24 hours before the server opens to public. And you can continue to play for another 24 hours (total 48 hours), after that, you must register the actual Factions game key to be able to continue to play.

I wouldn't recommend Amazon; I ordered from there at first, but even though there was free shipping on the Pre-Order pack and regular Factions when ordered together, they wouldn't keep the free shipping unless they were in the same shipment in April/May. So I wouldn't recommend buying there unless you're willing to pay an extra $2 or so to ship the Pre-Order pack early.

I ordered the CE from gamestop 2 days ago and have yet to recieve any reply about the order $85s worth. Its not even taken from my credic card yet. Anyone have an idea when they ship the key, as waiting until 28th of april is pointless for the preview. What is the experience you have had with gamestop.com ordering this.

IE: You dont need the Game Box yet to play the game a day early, your Pre-Order Key is good for that 1 day.

I got the $1 preorder from Amazon.com. whatever it was shipped friday. my question is though, if it's applied to my existing account, I can play all day April 27 (my 1-day early) but then on the 28th to whenever i actually get the full game (if i order online -- ship time) i'm without chapter 2 again?

I just got pre-order disk from Best Buy. One guy did not know if the $10 price went towards the game when it game out. He got on a phone and called another guy. After some discussion the guy lookas at me and says "It should count towards the game." I say ""should" or "will"? Big difference there man." He looks at me and says "It will". I just recently purchased the GW: Factions CE from gamestop.com...with their bonus offer which would be...the Pre-Order package. My question would be that...does anyone know when Gamestop plans on shipping the Pre-orders? Or does the Pre-order package..and...the CE ship together? Thanks.

I preordered from Play in Jan, and soon after they removed Factions from their lists. As they were showing no sign of changing this - although the order was still listed on my account - I emailed them and received this reply

I'm in mid-central Missouri, USA and we still don't have the Pre Order available to us. Our local Hastings carried GW Pre but hasn't gotten in GWF Pre yet (and don't know if they will). Until I told them on the 28th to expect it, they didn't even know it was being released! (GWF wasn't even in their database as a confirmed release yet). Comp USA in the city is playing dumb and apparently doesn't have it. Amazon says they'll give/send you a copy if you buy the game which ships next month---as long as the supplies of the Pre box last, i.e. you may or may not get it.
This is craziness. Guess I'll have to go through Best Buy (*shudders*, don't like them) or some other online source since no 'locals' are enlightened enough. Even then, I'll have to order and then wait for the entire game just to get the Pre Order box--which is the only thing I want. I'd planned to just get the cd-key online for the game itself. Personally, I am highly upset at this oversight.

Why do you dislike Best Buy? After waiting for weeks for it to show up at EB Games, I finally went to Best Buy (in San Antonio), where they had lots of copies still available. Sure, it cost $10 (compared to the $5 at EB Games), but at least I have my keys now.
