that is one of the things that is different from other online retailers. Amazon's "estimate delivery time" system. When you order there, you basically dont know 100%, when you are getting something.

I too am still waiting for something to be delivered to me from them. (which they already switched their delivery date twice on the order.)

I really think this could all be fixed if we could've just preordered factions through A.net/NCsoft. Instead we are forced to fend for ourselves with retailers who don't seem to care as much about this game as we do.

Amen to that. (I couldnt care less about the box or anything that's inside it. I just need the key )

Apparently, even in the case of a "respectable " company like amazon, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Shortly after my order, they e-mailed me, saying that my order will arrive well before the 28th. I dont remember the exact date, but it was between 24th and 27th.
Today, all of a sudden, they e-mail me again, saying that there will be a delay in my order, and now they are planning to ship it after the 28th, with the expected arrival date sometime around MAY 11th!!! Not only this will prevent me from partaking in any pre-order events, this will also hinder my gaming experience, since by the time I'll get the game, everyone I know will be far into the storyline...

Since I'm screwed anyway, I wont let my anger cloud my judgement, and I will simply go on with my life and wait untill May 11th - LESSON LEARNED.

The reason why I made this thread is because I simply want to help my fellow forum members by STRONGLY advising NOT to buy games from Amazon.com in the future, since they are highly unpredictable and unreliable. Off course someone might have had a different experience, but you never know what might happen in YOUR case.

Please dont waste your time by saying things like:

I had the very opposite experience with amazon.com. I just recently realized that my "pre order" didn't include the Head Start cd key (2 days ago), but it was more like "pre buying" the game. So I proceded to cancel the order which was done within 1 min. Then I reordered GWF along with the "presale kit". All that was done last night.

Today, my presale kit is on it's way for free (shipping included). AND my GWF is estimated to be here by the 28th.

Okays folks, this email (that is in the end of this post) came to me earlier today from CDON.com. It is Swedish OnlineShop that is quite big around Scandinavia. In this posts it says that PAN VISION, which is responsible for shipping Factions all around Scandinavias retailers, screwed things. Factions will ship to retailers on 3rd of May so it's next wednesday. That means customers will get them maybe week after that.

I checked other Finnish & some Swedish Online Retailer sites and they have changed release date to 3/5/2006. And this is the normal edition, not CE.

We got Pre-Order keys todays and after that they informed about the delay. Basically "10-days Grace time" will definately be too short to us here in Scandinavia, if we don't start buying Factions from some US/UK retailers.

This is not a rumour, it is real thing. About dozen retailers have changed their release date of Factions & our local shops are confused right now.

Kinda rude awakening :S

Heh, I live in Denmark and I'm starting to feel very pleased that I ordered Factions from amazon.co.uk...

If I were you, I'd cancel my original order and order it from Brittain, if the delay means that much to you.

Personally, with the grace period of 10 days I wouldn't really mind that much, but it's definately annoying.

Play.com usually has very fast delivery times, and Factions' price there is pretty much equal to the price at cdon.com. I ordered Prophecies from Play and apparently will be doing the same with Factions.

I just posted a query on the matter to the Finnish PlayerOne -store. The standard edition had already been changed to the 3rd of May on their site, and the CE has mysteriously vanished... Let´s see what they have to say

OK yesterday I entered my Pre-Order code. Just recently I decided to make an axe warrior to try out a build I was thinking about doing. When I had made it I found the two free items customised for them in their inventory. Once I saw that I got a bit worried because I wasn't sure if you jsut get the items one off on your first character? Or do you get them on every character you make? Cause I have no use for them at all on my warrior, I just forgot that I would get the items. Please help, thanks.

In a town or outpost, you can do the /preorder command and make them show up again in your character. This will not work in mission, instanced zone.

Well, I ordered CE from verkkokauppa in Finland. They have it listed as "sold out" now on their website. And they sent a mass email to everyone who ordered CE, saying that there's only tens of CEs coming to Finland, and that they would be unable to deliver it to eveyrone who has ordered it. Wonder if that's final or if it has something to do with the CE delay. They still have the release date at 28th though.

Gah, on the front page of the forum it says "Delay on GW:Factions Release" and the rest was cut out. I was worried for a second there. A shame for you guys, hope you end up getting it earlier then what they say.

But, he asked if you can do it for every character, or just one. That's what I'd like to know.

You can do it for every character. In fact, every new character you make will automatically have the items in their inventory.

If theres a case for the pre order key duration to be extended it's situations like this. With the CE being delayed for a week in almost every country, and now this AN, although not 100% at fault need to do something to satisfy the many 1000's of it's long term customers as many of them will and may not come back.

I have the preorder items on all 3 PvE characters just to play around with them.

So yes, you can put them on all characters.

I mean, wouldn't it be stupid for Anet to say "we're giving you these items and two new characters. Guess you have to choose which character gets the preorder stuff"

Arrrghhh. Automatically customized for whatever character you use it on. Oh well. Just for looks then, on some of them.

Hi i got pre-order and i got the preview CD thingy and the little booklet with all the codes in it

I put in the first code that sais it enables the march preview the pre-order weapons and the 24 hour head start to factions.

But i recently looked at what my file had unlcoked under that little listing thing and all it had was pre-order weapons. I dont know how to put in the key code again and I'm wondering if itll still let me do the 24 hour head start.

YES, trust us when we say YES. Any of us that say yes, have come across this questions 100's of times a day. Go in the game and type /preorder.

Delayed in the United States too. I ordered from Gamestop.

I had CE coming as well from another retailer and it was cancelled by them saying that they didn't get any copies in the end.

Damn, gotta re-schedule next week thought that I was taking trip to Cantha ...

Good to hear though that some Swedish retailers have copies.

Confirmed, however mines the CE and will be shipped on the 5th also the preorder key bonus is "back ordered".

i wonder, can you change the upgrades on them or is that permanent?

CDON.com has always been trouble for me ever since I ordered albums, games and such. I don't trust them anymore and that's why I've ordered factions from webhallen.se. They haven't said anything about a delay, so I except my game will be at home by 28 april.

During the FPE I was able to upgrade my ritualist staff without any problems (from memory I put a defensive +5AL wrap on it). I also seem to remember someone saying they changed their daggers too.
Whether this will continue to be the case though is another matter entirely.

Galie Gray had posted this earlier in a GWguru forum but so far we had no Verification that Guild Wars factions will be released at 7:01 a.m. GMT on April 28th, Guild Wars wont be shipped to where I live and I am certain of that. And Well, I Cant wait =P , So my Question is this, Will the online serial key be available for purchase at 7:01 GMT?

The release will be on the 28th as she said, some people won't be getting their boxes on time but that won't change the release date. There is a countdown timer on the official site, and it still shows the original release date/time, that is your verification.
As far as an online version on PlayNC being available immediately after release, I can't be sure.

How do you link your accounts? Put in the retail Factions Key into your original account? So the factions disc is Useless?

Yep, you don't need the disc to play Factions, just add the Factions key to your current account. Most of the Factions content has already been downloaded to your computer if you've logged on recently.

I never got a box for Prophecies, purchased my key online and downloaded the client from guildwars.com, I might do the same for Factions if PlayNC sells it cheaper than retail stores.
