Merged: Factions Pre-Order Comments & Questions

and THAT'S why I'm getting it from EB exactly 5 days from now, picking it up by hand at the bloody mall.

i bought a key from a friend and i added it into my account. But it says. faction campaign preorder items. Does that mean that i only get the items "dragon fangs and spiritbinder" or do i get the headstart and the game itself too?

Both, Ozzy. The key gives you the early access. If you get the preorders, you're good to go.

how much are the preorders (Not the collectors edition) costing in America, compared to the normal retail when its released?

What do you mean by get the preorder?. I got a preorder key and added into my account but it says factions campaign pre order items. I dont got any discs og other keys.

In the past three days I have seen several threads in this forum all on the same subject. Yesterday, there were 5 different threads on this subject. I have merged them.

OMFG. I was on hold for like 15 minutes, and then I got fed up. GAME.net has a REALLY REALLY bad customer service, not answering emails, not answering phone calls.

Go instore and have a rant at the your local manager! thats what i would do! to me GAME although maybe a big chain in the UK, I don't like them at all, they to me seem like a repilca PC WORLD but specialising in a specific field, high prices (even for online ordering!!) and very very bad customer service. I had a similiar experience when Propherices were released, Game messed up my order and sent me the SE, when I phoned them they said they had a new trainee who was inexperienced, and that my CE wouldn't be avaliable for another 2 weeks! couldn't believe it! since then I stopped online shopping at GAME, and went to a more reliable and trust worthy source.

As for gameplay.net . .. well, I pre-orderd with them and when I chased my pre-order key/pack they said they were no longer sending them out! :O this was 3 weeks ago, so I was forced to go with GAME.

so no matter which company you go for they are all as bad as each other!

I do sympathise, the UK sucks for customer service..

Simplygames was about the best CS I have ever had in the UK, however they have ducked out of the pre-order fiasco this time

The UK market is WIDE open for any company to come in and simply offer a better customer service.

I have a problem with my pre-order box and can't find anything similar in any of the threads so I'm posting it here.

I pre-ordered Factions before the FPE and received me pre-order key via e-mail. That's fine, I added the key to my Prophesies account and got the shiny pre-order items to play with during the FPE. I just received the actual pre-order box in the mail containing a different access key, but when I try to add that to the same account it tells me I'm adding Faction campaign pre-order items, and then tells me that my account already has the rights that this key unlocks....

Will the key I got via e-mail give me access to Factions after the 24 hour head start? I can't see it as then I'd have 2 account keys, right? So if not, do I then have to wait until April 28th to add the other key? Is the fact that it only says that it will add "Factions campaign pre-order items" normal? I'm starting to worry that it should say something else like "Factions Campaign" or "Campaign 2" or something along those lines.

Please excuse me if this sounds a bit panicky, but I had problems with my Prophecies CE when it came with a standard access code instead of a CE one and ANet were very unhelpful in the matter.

I hope someone can answer this because every time I look for info about it I find several different replies and it's starting to fry my brain.

The preorder items show up in inventory with the /preorder command. If you added the key for the preorder, you can do this now, plus will be in the early release.

You've added a preorder key, you're good to go. You need no other keys until the actual release of Factions. Then you'll get a Factions key which you need to add.

And Snowman, I would like to call more often, but I don't control the phone bill, calling GAME is international, and waiting for 10-15 minutes costs a lot, and unfortunately my mom found out .


But I did find out that they're sending out Pre-Order Packages in batches every Thursday, and it takes 3-5 days to arrive. So by my calculations (hurray! I can calculate!), it should be here in about Tuesday. On the other hand, it should be in here a week or 2 ago.

Are you saying I'll get a third key once Factions goes live? Does that mean that the key I already got via e-mail and the one that came with the actual box are both just pre-order keys? Bearing in mind that the box I got isn't the little cheaper pre-order thing, it's the full-priced game.

Oh, if you have the full retail box, that's probably the real, full key. I didn't know anyone had those yet (and I'm probably not the only one).

OK, silly question, but probably already answered.

If you preorded, will you still be able to summon the Poisonous Daggers and the Spellbinder forever, or is that only for a limited time?


I haven't found anything on that searching ANet, and it seems that the search here is usually out when I'm on.

Also, if you preorder the next GW game, when you type /preorder , will you still get the daggers & spellbinder as well as any preorder items from the next, or does your preorders overlap eachother?

That's what I thought, but why does it only say "Factions Campaign Pre-order Items" when I go to add the key? Have ANet done it again and put the wrong key in the box? I feel like I'm going round in circles with this. I would send a ticket to ANet Support, but as stated previously, I haven't had the best experience with them.

What you got is preorder box, not the full retail game box. The key is the same as what you got from the email (not exact key, but same feature or function), so you can't apply same keys to the same account. Don't worry, you already add the preorder key to your account, so you will have the head start. Just make sure to have the retail box and add retail key to your account within 48 hours after head start, you will be fine.

My friend gave me 1 key. i added it and got items. But i dont got any boxes or retail keys. Where do i get this?. Cause my friend dont got them anymore. Can A.net help me with that?

I'm in the U.S. military stationed in Korea and I cannot get a factions box set until 2-4 weeks after release. Also, every website I've been to can't ship to APO(overseas military post office's) for 3-6 weeks. So I was wondering if anyone knows of a website where i can just buy the access key and I'll just forget about the box. I'd really hate to miss out on a month of Factions.

You should be able to buy an access key for Factions over at PlayNC's online store on the day of the release. Keep checking the main GW site for a link to it and other fun details...but until then, no other sites or options.

What about a preorder key? Any way I can get my hands on one of those before the event starts?

they e-mail pre-order keys with pre-orders several hours after an order is placed, because they operate like this you won't get the pre-order box thingy that some major companies do.
what you could do is pre-order there and cancel 2 days before it comes out.

I was getting worried about it, too. I pre-ordered last week from GAME.net, because my local GAME store had some total crap rubbish that isn't the pre-order package at all. I'll quote from a previous post I made:

So thanks Sagaris for posting that about them sending out batches every Thursday, I wouldn't have found out otherwise and was preparing to cancel my order.

I know a lot of you are worried about getting your pre-order box from a lot of online orders, but EBGames just shipped out my pre-order box yesterday. So if you ordered from EBGames within the week, they should be shipped off now. I think there was a box shortage before.

I ordered mine back in mid March. :P

I'll pray for you, me and everyone out there. I'm getting fed up waiting, next thing monday morning I'm off to the city and trying to buy the pre-order in a store. And if I get the one from GAME.net I'll sell it ingame, I saw they go for a lot, I need ingame money. So.... yay!

Hmmm, not sure what's happening here - I pre-ordered from game.net and got my codes through pretty quickly before the factions weekend. Was getting a little worried about the pre-order box not arriving, but it came last weekend while I was away.

Interestingly, I tried the code that came with the pre-order box and it said my account already had the specific items available, but when I checked the code I had via e-mail and the code I have in the box I different, but both give access to the weopons and 24 hour head start - anyone else noticed this?

Hopefully the full game will arrive on time come next Friday morning.

Wow. I'm sooo disappointed.
Went to stores(Bestbuy, Futureshop) in person to preorder Factions. Found out I had to order online because they only do preorders online.

Went online. Tried to order from amazon.com first. Found out they wouldn't ship the title to Canada. Went to Amazon.ca. They didn't even offer the preorder package. Went to Futureshop.ca, Bestbuy.ca, neither of them had it. Why do none of the Canadian retailers offer the preorder while the American ones do? Was this a mess up by the retailers or the distributors? All they had to do was give me few numbers and I would have been happy.

So I caved and preordered the damn thing anyways from bestbuy.ca. Paying full price and not getting the package. I was looking forward to the head start because I leave later that night for the week. Now I'll just cry or something.

anyone else ordered from Sendit.com? I did ages ago, and am a bit worried they won't supply me with a CD key. Anyone else order it form there who could give me some info? Also from the websites that are definitly giving out the pree order keys, have you guys already been sent them? O will tehy be sent at a later stage? Also will teh keys be sent via email? Anyone know if my pre order at Bestbuy can be collectors or normal cause i want collectors and don't know if i missed out on it?

the only good thing coming out of futureshop.ca/bestbuy.ca is the -$10.00 = $49.99CDN. but they do skip out on the preorder package....sad....

-usually if it's an instore, you can ask to switch your purchase from SE(standard edition) to CE.
-online, it's either the CE is specifically available to order or if it isnt available and you only ordered the SE. you cant switch it since it isnt there.

So could i call them and tell them i wanted ce or just tell them when i pick it up, cause i dont remember them asking for which one i wanted.

That is one thing I hate about pre-ordering from Best Buy, in store. They will never ask you which version you want or will hold it for you when it comes out, like Gamestop and others do. It's first comes first serve. You just go to the shelf, pick it up, take it to the cashier with the pre-order reciept. So if you want the CE, you should be there right when they open and run to it.

So.... I think i'm gonna go cry in my room as i have school and can't get there till late that day ( i wont cry, but I really want the CE, so i'll just be mad as crap) Unless I can get my mom to go really out of her way on the way to her work. Even worse that my brother wants one and I want one so that's two.

Finally. I got fed up waiting so I went to my local Dynabyte and spend an outrageous amount on the pre-order kit. 25 Euros. And I'm not even using it as a discount for the main game. Damn me.

I am very dissapointed in amazon.com's service. I pre-ordered factions on april 13th, because amazon's price was lower than everyone elses.
Apparently, even in the case of a "respectable " company like amazon, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.

Shortly after my order, they e-mailed me, saying that my order will arrive well before the 28th. I dont remember the exact date, but it was between 24th and 27th.
Today, all of a sudden, they e-mail me again, saying that there will be a delay in my order, and now they are planning to ship it after the 28th, with the expected arrival date sometime around MAY 11th!!! To top that all off, they dont even let me cancel the order on my pre-order disk... I am outraged beyound words.
I wrote an e-mail to them, but instead of any appology or any action, they simply said that they will pass my complaint to the appropriate departament, and that my feedback is important to them. Not only this will prevent me from partaking in any pre-order events, this will also hinder my gaming experience, since by the time I'll get the game, everyone I know will be far into the storyline...

Since I'm screwed anyway, I wont let my anger cloud my judgement, and I will simply go on with my life and wait untill May 11th - LESSON LEARNED.

The reason why I made this thread is because I simply want to help my fellow forum members by STRONGLY advising NOT to buy games from Amazon.com in the future, since they are highly unpredictable and unreliable. Off course someone might have had a different experience, but you never know what might happen in YOUR case.

Please dont waste your time by saying things like:
1)pwned
2)haha nOOb
3)Next time you'll know not to order online.
