Merged: Factions Pre-Order Comments & Questions

I like how you explained it. But my suggestion is to either order it online, or wait. I know in an FAQ that Arena.Net said it would take longer to get it shipped to Cananda specifically, but that it would be up there in time.

Alright, I preordered this from EB here in Canada, and the guy told me he didn't know anything about preorder package. He took my order of GW factions and put me on the list but I didn't recieve anything except for the receipt.

Can anyone tell me what to do here since I have no idea if I'm am going to get the preorder items on not.

I've been periodically hitting all of the main gaming-oriented stores this week to get the preorder kit for GW:Factions, but nobody has it... I've tried Electronics Boutique, GameStop, Bestbuy and CompUSA... all of them 3 times since the 28th.

Has anybody else seen it come in the stores?

I found mine at Best Buy yesterday. Thing is, tthey didn't have it stocked. I asked an associate and they brought it out for me.

If your store doesn't have it yet, it should soon. It was mailed last week...

EB Games is becoming very disappointing, the problem is that where i live EB has no competition so they can do basically anything they want, except for Rhino games but they dont sell computer game

ya my EB games dosn't have it yet eather. The have like a moive cd disk out with Guildwars factions on it. But not the pre-order box. Its weird. But they said it should be in sometime this week.

My Best Buy had two left when I got there and picked mine up, that was on the 3rd.

EB games is slow in getting their shipments it seams. But since we are getting snow right now thats going to most likey hurt it and push it back. But i think that as long as i get it before the game is out, i will be ok.

Since there are still questions, here's my post from last week.

The key gives you access to the Preview Event on the 24th. You don't really get any additional benefits until you purchase and add a GWF retail key.

Right those will be given out the day of release. Thats what happened originally for prophecies, I did not see my items until the first day of release. (during the beta events non of those items showed up) and it also has been mentioned that you will get those items once the release is here.

The problem is we do have those items... But only on PvPs and newly created RPs. So either we shouldn't have 'em yet, or there's a bug floating around here.

i read a thread where someone said to type /preorder and the items will be in your account. I havent try to type in preorder.

so, is the preoredr a completely seperate thing that costs 10 bucks? so if you get it, you still have to buy the factions game for full price? for a total of 50+10 dollars?

Preoder is the same as when you preorder any video game or movie. The price of it goes as a discount towards the final buy, so GW:F will only cost you 40$ if you get the preorder, and if it costs 50$ base price.

so i preorder, and get the preorder package as part of my money down. excellent. i was annoyed lol

If you order GW: Factions online,when do they send you the pre-order box?

I don't like EB anymore and I rather go to Gamestop. It looks like I'll be pre-ordering at Best Buy once I get the money.

To be sure, I wouldn't have shopped EB Games except I had a Gift Card there.

Say, weren't EB Games and Gamestop supposed to merge at some point?

There owned by the same company now. Gamestop bought EB but like's EB brand name / it's more out there. Just like SBC bought AT&T but using the AT&T name and dropping SBC.

I'm not preordering until I can preorder the CE pack. I did get CE preorder pack from BB so I can get the cool stuff and when I get a 2nd box, give I away to someone I'm trying to get hooked on GW.

I had a friend order from amazon, and they called amazon and they were told they would be sent out as soon as they recieved them.

I preordered from GameStop near where I live, no preorder kit, just a crappy Onimusha "collector card" thing.

Meh thats the thing, I E-Mailed EB games and they sent me an auto response.. (Which gave me no info)

Thank you for that little tidbit, I was just coming to terms with the fact that Amazon might not be sending them out at all.

Funny thing is, I tried to use my Gift card at Gamestop and they wouldn't let me... so, it's JUST like those coffee shops.

Is there actually going to be a CE pre-order package? I thought they'd be the same...

I hope that this CE will include the wonderful glow that emits from your hands when you dance. The store where I got GW from had no copies of the CE left so I got lazy and grabbed the regular edition. I don't want to rebuy GW just to get the glow.

Hopefully, more information will be released regarding the CE.

yea so i called up eb last friday and they told me that they had somthing coming in today but they didn't know what it was or if the pre-order package was inside it but that i should call back....so i did and they guy checked on the computer and told me they ere expecting it in april! GAHHH!!!



i get that every time i call or go there....so i explained that it was a pre-order package and you get it when you pre-order the game....and that it comes with all this extra stuff.....the interupts by saying "we usually give thing like that out when you pre-order the game."

i then proceeded to tell him "I know, i was supposed to get it when i pre-ordered but you guys hadn't goten it in yet....so i'm calling now to see if u got it in that package i was told you were expecting today."

Following the news from Rollntider, I decided to call amazon.com, too. What a fun experience! First off, you don't call them.... you provide a phone number, and they call you! Makes you feel like you won something.

Anyway, I talked to a representative who said she could find no trace or hint of the pre-order package in the system. I informed her of what I knew from the guild wars press releases and website, at which point she put me on hold for a few minutes to see what she could find. I also asked her if there was a way to ask to get the amazon.com people to look into this or contact Guild Wars people. Funny thing is that she returned knowing nothing more than before, but asked me to provide them with links to the information

So, here's what I sent. If they reply with anything useful (i.e., more than a standard auto-response, I will share the info here.

My e-mail to them:
I was just speaking to someone on the phone customer service. I had called to inquire about the Pre-order Package that my pre-order (order # XXXXXXXXXXX) of Guild Wars: Factions entitles me to. Your representative said that there was no record of this pre-order package in the system. She also suggested that I send some information in the form of website links to you via this e-mail so that you could look into the product.

Here is a link to the offical Guild Wars website's page on what is supposed to be in the package: http://www.guildwars.com/aboutgw/whe...nspreorder.php . I understand that this may not help a lot, but at least you will see the product you are supposed to be recieving and distributing.

And here is the FAQ page on the same website. If you read closely, Under the "where can I learn more about the Factions pre-order pack" heading, it states that the product should be in the hands of the distributors as of Feb. 28. Also, if you read under "is there another pre-release Factions event" and "how do I get access to the Factions event", you will see that the code included in the pre-order package is for use on March 24. Which is why this product was intended for current distribution, not April 28th, which is the ship date showing for my current order (but more accurately, is the ship date for the final release of the product).

Also, this "pre-order package" is supposed to be at no cost to the distributors, as stated by Gaile Grey, the Guild Wars public relations representative here:

If i buy the collectors now, do i get shipped a pre order box, thne when the game comes out i get a disk throught the post with my code on it? I get sent a code by email with no disk? Other method? is it all sent at once but i cant actually play it until the release date(or 24hours b4)?

Plz help, i'm kinda confused...

I think Gaile has said that is not true (to the extra slot) for the CE in the past in a post.

That's what I thought. Those sites look none too reliable.

If the "key for additional slots" means one an extra slot beyond the regular edition, Hell yes.

The book, mousepad, calendar and Cloth Picture all sound pretty cool, actually.

Eh, who am I kidding, I'll get it, even if there's no bonus character slot!

That's an important distinction. I haven't heard officially one way or the other...

the closest BB is mad far so i can get to it...but i'm hopin the pre-order package comes in soon....thats why i'm wondering bout if ppl in the area had it yet
