No, But, how many people actually care?

Hell. you can all blame me. Just, it's not Gaile's ault, So quit acting like it is!

We don't know Who's fault it is, and by presumption, we screw ourselves deeper into the wood.

Lol, how true. Our guild website also had an almost instant spike in activity as soon as no one could log in, lol. What would we do without GW...

I'm probably going to lose some items and a SF quest but so what. It was actually kinda fun. The zone portals were broken so we got to wander around the enormous world map and still be in Dist 1 Ascalon City... WEEEEEEE!!!

If people were to be allowed to keep the items they had purchased today. then EVERYONE would be rolling around in fissure armor. and that would kill the game.

Hearing all the people complain about this price reset makes me smile. For one they are all lazy and have no clue what it could to to the game (For example ruin it). And they expect to get rich quick and get the best stuff. when people spent over a million dollars to get the fissure they wanted. I myself have saved 84 ecto and 44 shards. and if they had allowed the price reset. i would have stopped playing alltogether.

so in the end. It was not christmas they took away from you people crying out there. They saved your ass from the end of the world.

And i would personnally like to thank a-net for saving this great game
I seriously doubt making Fissure armor available to everyone would KILL the game, considering this game was about skill in the first place, not grind to get items.

However, it'd piss off a group of players who play Guild Wars for the grind for items(no idea why, when if they want to grind they should probably go play WoW or something) who would probably then quit to go play WoW.

The people that are left are probably going to be the Pvpers and the people who play PvE not for the items but for fun. However, that's not gonna help sales, so I guess you could say it will "ruin" the game.

I know the servers will be back up about 11:30 PM Eastern time, Which is 4:30 GMT, etc etc.

I'm going to be glad to see this rollback thing happen, I feel bad for the people who were in the middle of a mission and completed it and now its going to be reset. But if they did it once, it can be done again.

I'm not always happy with the fact that things cost so much in GW, but this is all a part of the challenge of the game y'know? If gold was as easy to get ahold of as it is in Sacred [You can get about a million in a couple hours by just playing the game], It wouldn't be quite as challenging, or as rewarding tof inally get that piece of FoW armor or what not when you finally can afford it.

Anyway, this is my two cents on the whole deal. It would have been nice to mess around with while it was there, but I wouldn't have expected it to stay that way without a rollback.

Anyway, I'm a bit delayed due to my own internet problems and catching up on the news, gotta love failing internet providers...

Yeah, I'd like to thank everyone who tried to jump all over the economy and exacerbate the problem, thereby wasting the time of those who were actually doing quests and missions when this happened. ANet has done an excellent job containing this. Meanwhile, I hate to tell my guildie I'm going to have to help her re-cap that elite, and the build changes and attribute quests I did are for naught.

Then again, I'd rather have that than let the people who were trying to maliciously capitalize on this keep their ill-gotten gains. Good show, ANet - it's pretty amazing this is the first time I can think of real downtime in almost a year of availability..

If you left LA, you'd just pop back in at a random location.

Still there btw. Haven't gotten kicked yet. I gotta say, even with the rollback this was a success for me atleast. Never seen a district so empty and made quite a few friends there.

Just too bad the friends server is down, so I can't add them, lol. Wrote down their names in a notebook I had lying around. But I guess we can't get it all.

So what if for an hour traders went wild! So what!

There is no game economy. Some can run players around to hard to get to places, some hang around and help lower level players through some missions.

Some farm and farm and farm then try to sell what they find.

I got my gold from ebay for the most part there are only a few with a lot of money those runners to Droks. The economy of this game is terrible as bad as I've ever seen so I don't see how these traders could have had a negative impact on it.

Am I missing something here?

I'm not surprised that they are rolling back the game and I'm not upset. The fact is that it was a glitch and no one should be allowed to exploit it. Besides, it was fun to see everyone going crazy around the traders and see the rest of the city empty. It was also fun to imagine what I would have done with all the gold I would have gotten. Oh well, back to tendering the crops...

Try not to cheat and play the game the way it was meant instead of buying money off of ebay, there is still an economy in the game :P If there were no economy (actually look up that word), you would know it ... but since you bought your money, you wouldn't know!

I'm just laughing at the fact that people thought they would gain from it all. Even if you bought 100 ectos at 250 each, it would still be worth around 250 tomorrow and the next day, and the next. Not like you're profitting there. Not like the materials were just going to magic back up to 7k after you bought a bunch. Way to think it through :P

Yeah, I had to give a 30 minute presentation today for my college class in which I forgot to breathe half the time, not a fun day at all. But, soon, everything will be back to normal, including all of our abilities to play Guild Wars again, I'll be more than happy to see that come around.

The best we can do now is hope that a problem like this doesn't happen again, because I seriously dislike having GW cut off, due to my faulty internet provider, or due to things like this. This has to be the first major problem I've seen Guild Wars have, which I have to say I am very impressed with. GW hasn't had to shut down for so long since the Beta Events before GW was released. Gotta admit, that's pretty impressive...

I am sorry but i have to say this.
I have had several threads deleted on the topic of server lag and issues.
I have even been banned for disgussing this topic.LOL.was a fun trip.

THIS CRASH PROVES WITHOUT A DOUBT ANET HAS A MAJOR SERVER ISSUE.

With all the threads up don't you think this crash could have been avoided with a little prior action to the server that the people made public information of?

This is my 2 cents. let me know your thoughts. please staff no hijacking.

That is actually a pretty good point. But then again who doesn't disregard the storyline? Who wants to play the complete game over to get to the end? The drops in the beginning are hideous and doing missions over are tedious. The skill trader gives casual players a way to get skills that they already have instead of searching for some obscure outpost or not having your complete build until Ember Light Camp.

But whatever. You have a valid point and I see it.

Man Quake 4 sucks.
I had it installed since it came out and never played it because I do not want to waste any free time I have on any other game than Guild Wars.

Downloading The movies, Serious sam plus other demos to see whats out there.

Too bad that by the time GW is back online its time for me to go to bed.

That wasn't a massive change in prices. Well at least not a 8k to 250g drop. Plus everyone was effected equally by that. This doesn't effect everyone equally. Those that missed it would be out, and those of us who want our previous ectos to be worth what they are supposed to be worth would be out also.

I logged in about halfway through the bedlam. I was at War Camp and saw someone selling superior absorptions for 11k. I didn't know this whole deal with the reset was going on, and I actually went to this person and wanted to trade. He was trading with someone else, however. Then I saw someone mention the very low prices, and I headed to Forge.

Yes I was one that bought 10 superior absorptions and 100 shards. And I know it will be lost since the servers are getting rolled back. And that's fine, it was funny seeing all the chaos and people just making jokes and what not.

People trying to sell runes to those that didn't know about the glitch, thats sad. Those are the kind of scamming lowlives this reset will affect the most.
And someone mentioned earlier that this is truly the first server downtime GW has experienced in it's span. A previous game I played suffered crashes almost twice a week, and that was a subscription game. I give kudos to ANet for doing a great job in handling this. And although the thought of buying 60k runes at 250g was fun, this would of definitely destroyed the in-game economy.

My 2 cents

I've already explained why. Traders then started off with a low price but increased the sell price of their wares quickly based on the demand, which was extensive since everyone thought they could get something for cheap. So, prices stabilized rather soon after the reset. Today, prices were frozen no matter what the demand was so the economy was unable to respond in any way.

It is fine with me that they are rolling back. If they haden't it would be completly unfair for the ppl with FoW armor that earned it the truthful way.Besides that, The game does almost have a real life economy it is very competitve it would have demolished the game if they had not rolled over.
