So people who like to co-operate with other players will loose out?
Sorry I 100% disagree with you there.

Ashleigh.

I wish if it was a party of 8 when the 5th person said skip it would skip for all. Majority ftw

so by majority vote, a first time player could still miss a cutscene.

no way. I can tell you right now I watched every cutscene and only skipped it IF there was a mm and we needed the army to stay alive.

With factions coming out in a month. You can bet your ass I'll be watching those to and not skipping any the first time.

Just push the damn button. It's not like the cutscenes are actually worth watching.

Without cut scenes, one would never know why in one mission they're doing something, and in the next they're doing something totally contrary to the thing they were doing in the pevious mission!

Have some respect for the new players, and let them watch. They can be quite funny. I took my Mesmer (as party leader) through Riverside Province and at the end a couple of bad guys managed to get across the bridge with us. So the whole time the cut scene is playing, I'm standing there in my Victoria's secret armor getting beat on by the goons! - It was hillarious!

There's enough jerks running around whining about newbies who don't know everything there is to know about the game, even without the ones who COMPLAIN PROFUSELY about people not skipping. Think about how many times you've seen someone get razzed only because they asked a question in towns. I see it everyday and that's the kind of attitude that makes the "Biggest jerk" thread so long!

NOTE: This post has been spoiler-proofed for you convenience.

Maybe there should be a new function in the option menu that makes it possible to either choose cutscenes or Tetris. If you choose Tetris, every time there should be a cutscene, you can play a nice game of Tetris!

Also, make it possible to replay cutscenes maybe? Every cutscene you could've seen, you can just watch some other time. This way, you can always watch them afterwards

Heh

But then again most cutscenes don't last too long, but hey, it would kill boredom.

I'm 100% for the people who want to watch the cutscenes, should be able to watch them.

I'm 100% against the people who think majority should win, and that new people should skip scenes even if they want to watch them.

And I'm 100% with Ashleigh.

And I'm 100% against those who demonstrate this kind of attitude:

"Just click the dang button, its not like they're good or anything."
"The storyline sucks anyway"
"wah wah wah blah blah blah"

What force in this universe these people think gave them the right to decide what is 'good' and 'bad' or what other people should think about a given topic, leaves me baffled.

I always skip, but never resent or abuse those who don't. I have seen them all multiple times and there is nothing new for me, but I don't resent those who want to see them.

There are very few times when abusing another player is acceptable in my eyes, and not skipping cut scenes isn't anywhere near that list.

I do agree that not skipping when a MM is maintaining fiends is inconsiderate, particularly on missions where corpses are not just laying around everywhere.

One exception- the Hell's Precipice one where Rurik gets sent off is a must see. He is finally shut up! I never get tired of that.

I don't mean to be optimistic towards anet, but I think people who have seen the cutscenes should have a choice to watch them or not.
Regardless of one players decision, others still have the choice to watch or skip.

Of course, you don't have to skip cutscenes. And if someone asks "OK, who didn't skip?!?", say "wasn't me!"

How would that work? For ending cut scenes, i can see the option, but if the cut scene happens in the middle of a mission, I don't see how some could skip with some of the party hanging back to watch (if that's what you meant)?

I bet the same people saying "i'm sick of newbies getting run everywhere and not knowing a damn thing about the game" are the same ones saying "OMG skip the cutscene!" which still results in a newbie not getting run, who wants to fight their way to still have no bloody idea what the hell is going on.

It doesn't matter to me. As long as it saved some minions and keep someone alive, than we can skip the cutscenes. But if it just some guildies doing a mission for fun and we happen to get someone who is new to this area, we'll usually let the cutscenes run.

I agree with you. I also like the idea of the game pausing while cutscenes are being viewed or having them available to be viewed later.

I bet most the people who are saying "skip skip" were the ones wanting to watch it in there earlier days.

Still I stick with the idea"skip or don't skip, but don't make others do what you want, let them have there own decision"

Edit:Cangeman, you just gave me a great idea!

Maybe some sort of cutscene bank, where you can view in outposts and towns just for the fun of it, or to catch up on the latest.

I always watch the cutscenes but if someone doesn't want to watch the cutscenes, then it's his problem, not mine. I don't really care if 7 people want to skip a movie, since the worst thing they can do to me is calling me a noob or revealing some interesting facts about Vizier Khilbron, because they won't even dare to quit. The horror !

I agree here also.

If I want to watch, I don't skip. But as a previous poster stated, sometimes pressure is put on those who don't skip, because sometimes it is 7/8 people want to skip this cinematic.

Ps:Overnite, I edited your post because it may be offensive towards some people.

I am playing through for my third time, and I have skipped cutscenes before, but lately I only skip if there is a minion master with a bunch of minions who would die. Otherwise I like watching, and dont want newbies feeling pressured into skipping.

I aswell have seen cutscenes over and over.I skip every time now, until factions ofc.I remember been pressured into skipping earlier on in my guild wars life, so sometimes I feel guilty if someone is like "sorry I didnt skip i aint seen this before".
