The Biggest Jerk You Ever Encountered in GW (no posting names)

I think the first ever jerk I came across was to do with an auction. This guy had posted a bid which wasn't clear - well I thought it was one thing, he thought it was another. I thought he was offering 1k for each upgrade.

American Jerk: *Offers 1k*
Me: "No, you said you'd give 1k for each"
American Jerk: "No, I said 1k for both"
Me: "Look, someone else bid 500g for one of them - you can't buyout with the same bid!"
*Two minutes of trying to explain basic auctioning principles.*
Me: "Ok, 1.5k then."
*Sale*
American Jerk: "Haha, I'll sell them for lots more money. Haha."
Me: "Congrats to you then, stupid Yankee"
*American Jerk is ignoring you*

I later messaged him to say I seriously didn't mind if he was making a mark-up as I was getting a good price, but I wondered why he had to throw a paddy over being expected to out-bid someone.

Lots of other trading and PvE jerks in between. I'm surprised how quickly your ignore list grows. Last one was a really abusive player in The Wilds - I had my monk. I had got quite agitated because someone was randomly leading people completely the wrong way. Finally I managed to convince them to go the correct way. I think one player might have dropped by accident, then another left after we got the bonus. Possibly being a jerk, possibly accident.

Throughout the game one warrior was mouthing off at us. ----ing this and ----you that. Blanking out swearing doesnt stop you from knowing you're being sworn at.

"Pro" lvl 13 warrior (in the Wilds): ---- you, why didn't you heal me?
Me: Because you aggroed all the mobs and I couldn't get near you.
"Pro" warrior: ---- you.
Me: Well if you didn't just rush ahead...
"Pro" warrior: ---- you, I do as I please.

Well the warrior threw "her" toys out of the pram and refused to carry on - just stopped. So another monk, a necro and I carried on and finished the mission by ourselves. The jerk also finished, but probably felt stupid that we were able to finish with just a necro for offence.

I got one also...kinda short though. I was getting pick ups for FoW and was asking for Ventrilo only.

Me: exp. FoW group looking for 2 monks and 1 ele *must have Vent and a few hours to spare.

Then I get a PM

Noob: I don't have vent, I use shield of judgement...

Lol that scared me.

Just encountered a Jerk while in TOA..

I was in TOA trying to find a group for FOW, I see a monk who was trying to do the same so I decided to invite him and make a group together. Then we get an invite from someone (Jerk) who as soon as we are in the group, kicking me and keeping the monk.

I invite another monk and try to get another group together. Then I see another guy inviting us so I said in Teamchat "I am sure that when he invites me he will kick me". The monk replied that he would leave if he did so. As soon as I accept the invite I told him (not realising this was the same Jerk) "Please stop kicking me".. on which the Jerk replies "And just because of that".. and I get kicked again. On which the monk also left the party and we teamed up (on which I had to leave again later because of the network issues).

LOL WOW....yes i have met many jerks on my travels through the lands of Tyria...why i was training my monk the other day on the frost gate mission and wow...........

to start it off one of the party members left like 25percent thru the mission but we decided to go on......

then 2 of our party members start complaining that we werent doing bonus and we reminded them it was a mish only team......

also this team was HIGHLY dependent on my healing skills lol especially those 2 who wanted to do the bonus only who eventually went on their own to do bonus.........

so it was only 3 party members left........an E/MO a R/ME and me Mo/W...and suprisingly we finished the mish after a while........so i made 2 friends
lol the ranger was tanking pretty well...

-whenever i had energy i would try to keep them alive using heal party

-they ask me to rez em
-i tell em if i rez em they have to help us

i encountered a person in TopK a few months ago.

for five minutes he talked about how hitler would have united us all, and how he wished he were alive now.

the occasional hail hitler was in there, and some other crap.

i was more than offended...
i sat quietly, took a screenie or two, and reported him to anet.

who knows what happened to the little nazi... hopefully he got his account banned...

I encountered the biggest GROUP of jerks last night in LA.

The biggest jerk for me was a guy named Gladiator Kurt.He asked why I kept going afk(I only went afk 2 time's)and I said because I have 2 kids.

Heh I was little jerky last night...playing my monk brings that out in me.
Was doing the Aurora Glade mission, and the rest of the team were alright, except for this one particular E/Mo who shall remain unnamed.
He insisted on tanking and rushing in front, and brought Windborne Speed with him ...we had 2 warriors in our team!
After telling him numerous times to stop going in front, to which I never got a reply nor heeding my advice, I told him that he was on his own.
Yeah died soon enough and I didn't bother ressing him but someone else did.
Anyway we failed that time and went back to town.

Me and a couple of guildies promptly popped on our pumpkin heads and started to /point, /taunt, and /laugh at him, and he eventually left.

I deleted my female elementalist because I was tired of random people in front of me walking around me and going "ur sexy".

Ugh.

Ah the delicious wonders of Ascalon Arena.

I was playing around with my water ele (ZOMG I HAVE FORGE ARMOR AND
TRIDENT I'M T3H UB3R H4444444444XXX0RZZ!!!ONEONESHIFTELEVEN!!!?)
And we got matched up against, an honestly tough group. Even the 2 without
elites and 60+ armor put up a remarkably good fight. It came down to 3 living
members on my team versus the 2 remaining on their team. All res signets had
been used, and it was down to it. I was happily Tridenting and Ice Spearing
away when Life Transfer pops up in my top left window. No biggie, keep on
slugging. Eventually I drop from regen, but not before getting a Glyph of
Sacrifice/Malestrom off on the bastard. The foes don't move, and get owned
by the repeat damage/casting denial.

We win by one person.

After this, the Necro who was using Life Transfer started yelling at me.

Necro: U HAVE ELITE AND FORGE U HACK
Me: No.....I paid for a run. And last time I checked, LIFE TRANSFER is

Other things that piss me off. A level 2 with pre-searing skills in Ascalon
arena that thinks he's the main damage dealer of the team...

By the looks of that... sexual harrasment/threats made him get banned...

Me... on my first week of playing. I just made it to Post with a Warrior. Im equipped with a Purple butterfly sword I found in the breach.


Ranger: Hey... thats a cool sword. Is it max?
Me: What do you mean is it max?
Ranger: is it max damage?
Me: Uh... i doubt it.. the damage says 7-13.
Ranger: OMFG you noob... you dont even have a max sword?
Me: Sorry... where can i get the maxed sword?
Ranger: You suck.

Good Ol Ascalon Arena...

I got another new one from CA lst night. Well, the guy was TRYING to be a jerk, but it didn't quite go as he intended...

Match starts and he states (Can't remember his exact name but it had runnah in it) "I'm a runner. I don't do anything except run"

<2 of his team leaves>

So we proceed to kill the other guy in his team who stuck around, all the while listening to this guy rant and rave and brag about how he was going to waste our time by running as soon as his teammate was dead.

So now its 4 vs 1:

Runnah: "If you all drop now then I won't run and you won't waste an hour or more of your time trying to catch me"

Me: "I'll take my chances, thanks"

Runnah: "Hahahaha noobs I'm set up with ONLY running skills you'll never catch me!!"

Me: "OK...feel free to start running then"

Runnah: activates Storm Chaser

Me: "I'm using crippling anguish/conjure phantasm/faintheartedness on runnah"

5 or 10 seconds later when he's died from the degen and our team pounding on him...

Me: "Nice run"

Runnah: "STFU NOOB I'M A PRO RUNNER YOU JUST GOT LUCKY"

People like that always bring a smile to my face, especially when I see they're Ranger with no secondary and I know I have Crippling Anguish tucked away

Most probably because the name of that person stopped existing within a day or two of her reporting him. If his name dissapeared from her ignore list pretty good chances his account was banned.

1.Considering the nature of the harassment
2.Considering they where unwaranted
3.Considering that he continued to harass and even made comments of reporting her to Anet for being the mother of children...

I'm pretty sure that after that he would be banned.
They can't leave someone as *Engine gored* up as that on GW.

I just found this tread... and I gotta tell you. This is the most entertaining thread ever..

okay... here is another story:

I wont bore you with all the details... but well... There was a guy in our guild. He left on his own because of an argument he had with our leader. Fair enough... Afterwards, he PMed everyone... spreading lies about our leader. Stuff like: "Oh did you hear what she said about you? she said this.."
He actually managed to pursuade a few people to leave, but the core of our guild stayed together. 2 weeks later he begs to come back. apoligizes. After much debate we let him back in...

I log in and press G to see whos online and i see this guy was now an Officer in the guild. I quickly PMed our leader and asked her if she was nuts and why did she promote him. Apparently... He somehow got a hold of an officer's password. Logged in as them. Promoted himself with the intention of kicking everyone from the guild. He kicked one person before we caught on. We kicked his ass out.

JERK!

Well, this is not a story about a jerk, just about a young, immature, clueless, leechy person.

We have a guildie who needs to get through Elona. 5/6 of the group is guild and on TS. I, the monk, happen to be leader of the group, I invite another to join us for mission and bonus. He was a warrior, only level 17, but I wasn’t too worried because as long as you can control aggro it’s all good.

We clear out the first area before awakening the priest. Our guildie warrior says over TS he suspects that the level 17 doesn’t have very good armor. Since I accidentally let him die, I tend to agree. While waiting for slow priest to come over, we ask: What armor is that?

Warrior-17: “id rather not say”

Hmm. Well, I’ve gotten through this mission with less than 6 before, we can still handle it. I did warn him, I might not be able to keep him alive, but I also assumed he’d try and do some damage for us also. He said “that ok.”

We get around to the area with the first crystal, kill all the dudes, and start heading for the next priest. Warrior-17 doesn’t move. We call his name. Finally I say, sarcastically, “thanks for coming.” He says, “thx guys.” Whoa! He does talk! “ill stay here one less person to heal.”

Ummm, wha..?

Since I was doing the healing and whatnot, I missed the subsequent exchange which revealed that he was only 11 years old and his mom was telling him to go to bed. That we were to finish without him.

OK, bud. Entering a mission with pre-searing armor, not responding when spoken to, then leeching. We could have finished without him, and have it overwith, but we all met back in Elona, took Lina, finished mission and bonus with minimum aggravation.

Poor kid probably wakes up to find his time run out, and the camera panning up and around his dead body in the sand. Return to Outpost.

I guess we could be seen as the jerks in this scenario, but I’m not playing the game to babysit.

Ahhhh. One hell of an interrogation. Later he posted me that he'd put my name on 50 forums, but I checked and couldn't find anything. What a mug.

this happend today while i was farming with my o so orginal griffon farming build that i totally made up myself

then someone, who was in my guild for just 4 days, asked us if someone could give him an axe, now I dont care that much about thos ekind of things, but he also asked us, the fist day he wa sin the guild, if someone could give him money to buy armor. i tell him that he could get some things himself and he suddenly start flaming me with all kind of you-know-what. After a minute he cools down, i still make some screenies for just in case. about 10 minute slater, his friend, also just 4 days in our guild, starts talking to the guild with his capslock on. I kindly ask him to turn it down, becuase it was really annoying. Well then hell erupted, before i know my entire chatbox is filled with all kinds of swear words and other stuff, for about 15 minutes, will i try to stay nice and stuff. evantually the guild leader (who i PM'D on msn) came on and cooled things down.

i mean, i alreayd paid for 1 guys armor, always help others with things, an as soon as i ask soemthing, i totally get flamed, thats what i call jerks

Omg The Biggest Jerk i Encountered today was showing off his fissure armor...typical greedy bastard he had this good dye combo and i just asked him for what it was and how much the fissure armor cost and he said something you cant afford noob......and he said his dye combo was secret lol which i guess i can respect but shouldnt base peoples financial situations on their looks

I sometimes run around in my Droks glad's armour in between farming sessions and trying to sell rubbish.

Here's my story:

Needed to get some armour infused and do Bonus at Iron Mines so started looking around for people. Saw a similar ad msg:

"Looking for people to infuse, do Bonus and complete Mission"

so joined up with a group (we were 3) partaking in friendly conversation until we were 8.

Starting mission, we run to Seer and get armour infused afterwhich I update the group saying

"Okedoke, Bonus is next"

Get msgs from group such as:

"cool"
"yay I need bonus"
"what is bonus"
etc

This one guy though immediately goes on the negative:

Mr Selfish: "why you need bonus, is crap"
Me: "er, well why play the game at all?"
Mr Selfish: "only for 1k xp whats point"
Me:"I don't do it for the xp"
Mr Self: (silence)
Me: "Do it for fun"

At this point, someone has just aggroed the shadows we ran past, so a bit of fun entails with everyone running around panicking trying to fight them off but going round in circles. (which was actually very funny)

A few of us duck out of there but leave 1 more on the "other side"

Then the rest that I was with run past all the Mursaat and Mantle eventually reaching the area outside Markis stronghold.

Which is when i notice the fallen party member and ask where they are.

She tells us and then one of the warriors heroically tells all of us to wait and he galiantly dashes off to res the fallen heroine

So the rest of us are standing around bored so we decide to kill some Mursaat, clearing the area next to the RoF Portal.

At which point another member has fallen but not in fighting with us but over where Shadows are.

Everything goes quiet and someone asks

"What now"

I reply "Lets go get our fallen comrades"

So we all head off and decimate everything including Shadows, retrieve everyone so we are again 8

Again, standing in front of Markis stronghold, I think to myself "hmm if we do Bonus some of us might die or leave (which has happened b4) and then the people that need to complete mission will have to start over" so I say to group

"okay, lets take out the Mursaat left and right, then Markis and 2 Jades, but pls leave the other 2 Jades alive"

Everyone agrees and we take out aforementioned targetsand leave 2 Jades alive.

Now the Bonus argument starts up again. We start making our way towards where Blade Ryder Scout is and throughout this guy is going on about not needing bonus blah blah. I tell him that he shouldn't of joined up a group that was doing "Infuse, Bonus and Mission in that order.

He says doing both Mission and Bonus is not possible, I just laugh quietly. So we clear the area up to where the Inquisitor appears.

I tell everyone that he will appear here (draws circle on map) after I speak with Blade. Get the usual okies and smilies. So go and talk to Blade and Inquisitor appears with his Mesmer pose. The fight starts, Inquisitor starts running but knowing that we can catch him we finish off the Mesmers at which point I notice that a few of the group are missing.

Anyway, so immediately start running after the good old Inquisitor and indicate the few with me to follow.

We were almost upon him (and could have finished him off) when suddenly I get the Mission complete screen appear....

FURY kicks in........ (seething while watching the sequence with of course 1 person not skipping)

Arrive at Thunderhead...

Me "You ******G SELFISH ****"
Team Member "We only needed 2 more mins, why you do that"
Another team Member "wtf"
Mr Self "yeah an i like to be ha ha YOURE ALL *******G NOOBS"

So goes to show you that you can get a great team together but sometimes one dick spoils it all.

Biggest jerk I ever met was at the Gates of Kryta. Me and my GF were looking for other people to join up with us. We were one slot away when a level 8 mesmer asks if im doing the bonus. I say that its a possibilty and he invites in and we're off.

As soon as the mission starts, the mesmer runs off ahead and starts tanking. Needless to say he dies in about 2 seconds. He starts yelling for a res and the monk ends up ressing. He then proceeds to go off and tank again. I figure he's probably a new player or something and tell him to hang back a bit so he doesn't take all the damge. At this point he spazzes out and starts yelling at everyone in the group. Yelling about how we're all f'n n00bs and how the healer sucks etc.etc.etc. and how hes beaten the game 4 times etc etc etc. Then he tells me, my gf, and the monk that we're losers with no lives because we're over 20 and still playing games. And how as a 12 year old he was better than us (no joke). He runs off to aggro everything in sight, but being a level 8 he dies pretty fast. A lot of yelling ensues about what noobs we are vs what a prick he is. He then says hes just gonna lie there while we finish the mission. I wasn't having any of that so I decided that we should all meet up at the outpost to redo the mission. I stuck him on my ignore list and told the rest of the team. My mistake was saying it in the team chat instead of pm'ing everyone.

We get back to the outpost and look for a replacement to the mesmer. A Level 20 w/mo shows up and pms my gf saying he wants to help and just wants to farm the drakes. As soon as we start the mission i know something is wrong. The wammo kept running ahead and aggroing everything in sight. At first i thought he was running the mission for us but it then became apparent he was trying to get us killed. I asked my gf if he had said anything on team chat and she said he had. Seeing as I didn't see any of those comments I realized it was the mesmer from earlier nad announced it to the group. The kid spazzed out on the group, saying he was leet and i was a n00b then went to try and aggro anything that moved. The funny thing was he sucked as a tank too. Dying almost instantly. The stupid kid yelled at the group again told them that he just liked pissing off new players then left. What a jerk.

Question though, is this kind of harrasment a bannable offense? I really dont want this kid to get away with it because he really ruined the game for all of us in the group. The first time was bad, but to deliberately come back and harrass us again? Somethings wrong with that kid. I have screenies of the first run when he was a mesmer, but not the second as I had him on my ignore list already. Can he be banned for this?

On the other hand I was once had a W/Mo in the ring of fire getting pissed at me while i was luking for a nuker.

I'm glad that my first post here could come in such an excellent thread. I'm in a small guild, so I don't have any in-guild stories, but I've run into my fair share of complete idiots in PUGs. I don't have a lot of time to play GW, so getting hosed by one of these guys is all the more annoying. I've more or less started playing with only hench and guild members.

I've had the usual "run-ahead" jerk experiences and all, but there were two jerks that stood out to me:

- The Necro who, for 2k up front, was going to run you to Drok's from Beacon's. Actually, this might be a fairly common scam for all I know.

- The Ranger who yelled at me for taking an E/Mo with 7 healing skills instead of a healer henchman because "Elementalists can't heal, think about it." This guy joined my Iron Mines cap run to get Barrage from Markis and then forgot to equip a cap sig. That one still makes me mad.

Today, I was in a party doing the Villainy of Galrath quest. All of us were lvl 16+, except for a warrior who was lvl 13. I normally don't like having low level people on high level quests because they take damage too fast and waste my monk's energy. But I didn't complain.

So we start for Galrath. After 10 minutes, one of the rangers leaves without any notice. We ignore it and keep on going. About halfway to Galrath's castle, the warrior gains a level. Guess what happens next:



Based on his name, I suppose he saw the market in runners and decided to level a warrior toon up so he can start making money.

After this, the party leader, who is our only warrior left, also leaves without any warning. So we're left with me, 2 rangers, a mesmer, healer hench, and my pet. We were probably screwed but decided to keep going anyway. After killing and being killed by some some of Galrath's lvl 20 henchies, the two rangers managed to run past the mob and kill Galrath (who is a total pussy, btw).

hey HEY! you know that you can blank out names? on paint, with images like that, use a rectangle and cut out the names. That way you can't get reported for things like that
