I tried Dragon Slash last night on the few runs I did, and I think HB's is still faster as far as swords go. So I'm back to my HB + 4 adrenaline skill combo. It does help that I don't have to take Watch Yourself (I broke down and bought a set of legionaires) the extra attacks speed things up a bit.

quick question: ive been using a healing hands build recently (galrath, final, wy, dolyak, frenzy, HH, sprint, mending) and i have no problem clearing the front of the cave with spiders and dryders, but as i went deeper in the cave i got body blocked by the next spawn of spiders, so i was stuck with 3 spiders and a dryder which drained / shattered my enchantments and i was down before i could kill him.

i was wondering what you do in a stiuation like this, and was thinking of taking out WY for heal sig just in case

Even in the cave, I always pull the dryder before spawning any of the spiders. Same technique used in the front, nothing to it. Otherwise, my HH/Live Vic/BSpirit build would be worthless.

So I've been playing with a Grenth's Balance W/N to try to kill the Skale. Tough, and timing it right is kinda nerve wracking, but it works. You can clear the whole beach and the caves, but it goes a bit slower than just doing the spiders, driftwoods, and the mesmers (forgot the name). I just take penetrating, cyclone, frenzy, watch yourself, dolyak sig, healing sig, grenth's balance, and either shields up or plague touch or an attack skill. The drops haven't really been much better (at all), but it is a fun challenge and neat to see one tank kill so many level 28 necros that have 2 elite skills (like the rest of the beach, I guess)...

So the build is still the same or has it been updated?
If so, can someone post the updates to the build + Axe Variant? Thanks

I'm having pretty good success with:

W/Me

Insp - 2
Str - 2+1
Axe - 12+3+1
Tac - 12+3

Triple Chop (E)
Cyclone Axe
Penetrating Blow
Penetrating Chop
Watch Yourself!
Healing Signet
Physical Resistance
Sprin

~800 damage with one Triple Chop. (note that the two spiders to the left are glitched, they're actually at the same location as the other spiders, they just appear to be off to the side)

i find your new build very interesting but i came across one major problem when i tried runnign it and that was skale aggro, being unable to stop and heal at the end, i'd like to know what your strategy is for dealing with them

W/Me. Doylak signet + Physical resistance isnt a bit too much? Since Physical resistance can be up all the time. You should take an other attack skill I think

Even with a superior absorbtion the +40 armor from Physical Resistance is not enough to negate some of the damage. It is possible to do with PR alone, but you have to heal more often thus prolonging the run.

Legionaires armor is enough to make up that difference. With that armor set your free to save the extra slot for another attack skill. You just have to be careful with your energy.

Tactics: 8 + 1

That video was from a while ago (note when I open my guild listing briefly you don't see the alliance stuff ) so I would highly advise the legionnaires set for it along with a -2/-2 shield. Hmm... wonder if that would be enough extra defense to drop Watch Yourself and tack on some more offense...

I had a great run last night where I cleared the cave and got FIVE shards to drop.

I've also been use an Axe build with new Triple Chop elite and it's been working very well for me. One of the new twists I've add is a +19% Pruning Axe Mod, to help clear out the Driftwoods faster. So far it works very well also.

Thanks again for posting this Racthoh! It's been a fun and challenging run.

I've found that I can build up adrenaline quicker if I don't use Final thrust and can use more adrenaline attacks. But I've been using an adrenaline heavy build and dragon slash, so Final Thrust would just slow me down.

This is my recent build:

1. Dragon
2. Standing
3. SilverWing
4. Galrath
5. Sun and Moon
6. Healing Sig
7. Physical Resistance
8. Sprint

Mine's geared at taking down solo spiders, or small groups quicker, and doesn't neccesarily work well against a large bunched group.

I'm gonna try the W/Mo build to compare times.
