hmm, but would this eoe damage interupt healing spring?, if not, then like foo said, it would be useless
but to the above comment, i dunno about that, using healing signet alot makes the time go out longer in clearing the spiders, thats one way that the wammo one is more faster, because of the naturaly 1/4 second heal and plus after several are dead, you dont even have to use it anymore
**Edit** . . . um i just got an idea im gonna go try it out when we get favor

they dont malaise you if you you stay a lil away from them, which leaves only the melee open, but, doing the grawl with the hh frenzy is none the less, lil fun, still tryn to get down a perfect technique to take out the melee only Chillblains.

I wouldn't have linked to it if it wasn't still doable.
And when in doubt, legionnaires helps a little.

I set a new record for myself for the run! 37 mins! I shaved of some time, by using Shields Up! rather than Watch Yourself (foo's advice). It worked like a dream! I also broke down and bought a cheap set of Knights (also from foo's post). Even when I was using Heal sig, Damage was straight -0's.

What other skills are you using? what gear?
[think of trying to kill all the dryders in the cave, and then do the way back for the spiders, it mught even speed things up].

I'd been using the dragon slash combo for awhile, I just added "Shields Up!" and rushed the front of the cave like you described. I've got a stance Sword, and a -2 stance/30 hp always shield (which I need to trade out with a tactics req shield).

you usualy need to agro a few in order to get there. just make sure you have a runaway path cleared from more skales, and as much as possible, free of others too. run to them, and hit sprint. break agro, and heal untill life transfer is gone. always watch for more skales wondering about. Correct, it is just bad luck. I am no longer surprised by the variants of the skale patrols. All other mobs have a set pattern which once learned makes it pretty easy. But the other day, I had a skale from the mob closest on the right side of the cave, go all the way into the cave, damn near right up to the fourth dryder :O OH, on a side note, with any build listed in this thread, it is safe to run from skale into a mob of driftwood, but only go by dryders if you have some skills to spam to cancel Wastrel's, while at the same time not cancelling sprint until clear of the Skale aggro. On a side note, thanks again Racthoh for getting this going. I have been making money fast, even after buying legionairres armor, and weapons/mods. Still need that elusive 15^50 chaos axe. Shadowborn Demon
I've looked at this thread many times, and have finally got round to reading all the (1692, as of this) posts *wow*. I'd just like to congratulate you Racthoh on this awesome run. As per normal, your warrior prowess amazes me. I've been running the W/Me Dragon Slash build, and my runs take considerably less time than they used to (as a lot of people have said, it is practice that makes perfect with this run), around 40min.
I'm thinking of trying the W/Mo build when I get back from holiday (this computer is a Mac, which won't run Guild Wars.... grrr), and I was wondering about what armor set would be optimal. You and some others have said Legionarres(sp?) is the way to go, yet I would have thought it to be Ascalon, for the -3 damage from all attacks.... I'd like some input here, before I go and spend all my money on 15k Ascalon, and this will also help me with the decision to buy Dreadnought's or Legionarres for a factions armor. The fact that Ascalon only reduces Physical doesn't bother me - I like 15k Ascalon and will gladly buy it even if only for a farming armor, but I don't want to buy it then realise Legionarres would have been better.... The armor I'm currently using is Gladiator's, and that works fine (even with my 15%-10 sword) with the high armor builds, but im wondering about armor decision for when it comes to the W/Mo HH build. Also, would my weapon be ok for the Whammo build? It has 'of defense' mods, so only gives me -5 armor whilst attacking, which from what I've gathered would be ok with "Watch Yourself!", but I was thinking of scrapping that after geting more experienced, and subbing it for another attack skill. I know I could probably find this out from Trial and Error, but as I've said I'm abroad at the moment. Also, other opinions are always a good thing. Thanks in advance. Shadowborn Demon aB-

I find that even with optimal equiptment, (Legionnaire's, -2/-2 shield, +5 armor weapon) removing watch yourself can make the enterance of the cave very difficult. I find that if I have all of the spiders attacking me at once there, that I can not survive the entire down-time of healing hands 100% of the time. It is possible with careful pulling, but that can slow down the run even more, and is a little bit more risky. So with a weapon that has 10 less armor of mine, I doubt you will be able to take out "Watch Yourself!". But you should have no problems completing the run with it.
On another note, would a 20% longer enchantments mod be more useful than a +5 armor mod? Most of the time when I don't use "Watch Yourself!" I find that if Healing Hands had recharged just a couple seconds faster, I would have survived. The 2 bonus seconds could make the difference. Shadowborn Demon
Thanks aB! When I'll get back I'll buy Legionarres then
![]() [edit] Thanks krozz, but I was originally asking what armor for the W/Mo build. I can do the run fine with W/Me. Thanks anyway though. krozz
Using Knight's armour on the W/Me build made the run kinda easy.
SirShadowrunner
Hi All,
Been 3 months since my last spider cave run, been busy with factions, I sure love this run tho, got in 3 runs on Saturday before we lost favor, I used the Dragon slash build posted here and goes very fast, used my all Glads armor to. Seems like Europe has favor most of the day when I play, then America finally starts getting it late in the evening after I am completely burned out from playing all day, one reason I think alot of our guild plays late at night. Question : I have been thinking about switching to the European servers, since they have favor most of the time I am on, how many times can you switch back and forth?? And what are the "in's/out's" of doing this?? Looking for advice ...... -thx SirShadowrunner Racthoh
You get 5 changes.
duward
does the build in the first few pages remain the same or have there been any changes since .. like the 20-80++ pages .. tnx
Across The Battle
Duward: The W/Mo build is current that is on the front page. There is a W/Me build as well but that is buried in the 85 pages of thread :-p
foo
mine is on the #1666 post on the 84th page.

The original Build still works, but the W/Mo or the W/Me builds are faster.

ok,
I have build this, ready to go, waiting for favor, were is the best area to practice ??? Racthoh

ty,
US have favor, 2 runs so far, can get to cave , but mob seems too large to over come(at cave mouth) Racthoh

When in doubt, kill one at a time then sprint away and heal. It may take a while, but it's better than dying and losing 1k for nothing. Don't expect to be tanking the entire cave on your first go. ![]() i11inif4n
Wow...
That's all I can say for this awesome guide of FoWness =] I have read most of the pages in this forum and still can't find what is the best Build that Sword Warriors are using now? Would be greatly appreciated if someone would tell me =) Also, where is the best place to put your Sup Absorb for this build? Thanks a lot if you can answer =D SnipiousMax

Thanks a lot if you can answer =D Use either the W/Mo build that is now shown on the OP or use the Dragon Slash W/Me Build. Those two are the fastest, and it really comes down to prefrence. Also, it shouldn't matter in the slightest where you put your sup absorbtion as the effect is global (it's effect triggers no matter where you get hit.) i11inif4n
Ok thanks a lot =]
Now just have to wait for favor....Go America! =D Racthoh
Adding that link to Foo's build on the first post.
Maybe I should go through the thread and link to some axe builds as well... meh, maybe when they're as fast as sword I'll consider it. ![]() foo

(still not as fast as with a sword, which I'm used to). I would want to add back shields up, so I could take all the spider fire in the cave, and kill lots of dryders, and just then take the spiders, when I can bunch them up for great groups, but I'm afraid that I will not have the energy for those 3 energy based skills. Who uses axes?

And that's time I'd rather be using to start my second run. But it's fun seeing ten spiders drop at once. Zealous mod is a must, and the build slows down considerably once you step into the cave, as killing spiders three at a time is not as fast as killing them 6-10 at a time. Joe L.
I am still not quite sure what build is overall the best. It is fact that the W/Mo build is fastest outside the cave, but once inside I don't think it is any faster because you have to disenchant, and then pull the dryders, as opposed to the Triple Chop build in which I just run up to the dryders and hack away, while the spiders come down.
Also I just got back from a run, and it seems to me like the Triple chop build is pretty much a guarantee, and the W/Mo build is kind of dependent on how the skale spawn is. The reason I bring this up is the last run I did, the skale were right next to the cave entrance, so I could not even pull the third dryder before killing the spiders, and then their presence so close made the entrance clearing take forever. It was also not possible to pull the fourth cave dryder so I had to sprint to the backside of him to be clear of the skale, and I ended up dying. Is it possible to kill a dryder with spider around? I got close but not close enough. So which is better? The slower triple chop build, which I have yet to fail, or the w/mo build which I have yet to complete? woftam
well,
finally, got it down pat. big thanks to Racthoh and all, this is my build, not the fastest, but work well for me ![]() aB-

How long does it take to pull the spiders away from that dryder? I've had the same thing happen, and simply pulled the spiders away from the final dryder wasting maybe 10 seconds. If the skale does happen to wander into your aggro bubble, he will first cast rend enchantments easily giving you enough time to sprint away.

(I never use it: ) it might be good against the skales, but it's pretty bad against the dryders, and I dont like the idea of chaging it just for the tiny bit of the run.

Yes it is. You have a couple seconds before the first cave spiders come down and start attacking. By the time they start attacking, you should have "Watch Yourself!" up, taking 0's on most attacks, and slightly higher numbers on critical hits. Once the dryder's dead, apply healing hands and live vicariously, and start the fighting.
woftam
Well,
I have done it with both axe & sword, W/Me . axe build above, sword : foo's build (see pic below) The defence for both builds is exactly the same, but i enjoyed the sword build more.easier ? maybe, quicker? I think so. first few runs I was not certain i could take on 2 groups (2x3) . but it is not hard. BUT...was not impressed to get a purple chest drop I switch for running(same as foo)and the shot below is "fighting" set. EinherjarMx
I finally made it =) (after like 8 attempts)
It's just that, either that I have a really bad luck or I just suck too much because my trouble is passing the skales, I know I need to get the denravi helm, but the spawn I always get is 2 or 3 skales in the first area and they never patrol too far to let me pass without being seen and other thing that freaked me out was that, yesterday 2 of the times that i got killed were in the run from the shadows and the army, the weird thing is that i removed the helm to get the +75hp from the rune but I received a 264hp hit from incendiary bonds, and no, i wasn't using physical resistance, I was using sprint, the other run I just got hit from a fireball and incendiary bond and poof! 2 hit K.O. can someone explain me this please? any suggestions on running past the skales? i managed to kill the spiders, but is the run that frustrates me =( foo

(just use phys res if driftwoods are around, and dont move which they are attacking you).
the point is, dont panic. the skales damage is not that bad, and can sometimes even be outhealed. if you break agro and heal before you reach 100hp, you should be fine. (that means you would lose 400 hp, which is 20 seconds worth of degen!).

I would recomend swiching fast to a furious sword of shelter with +15 in stance, and if you (or anyone else) is interested, I now have spare +9 vs piercings -2^stance shields, one str, one tacts.
dr1zz one
^^ I may need to try this out.
Foo, How much would you let one of those shields go for? I really have no preference of STR vs TACT. Racthoh

You were hit in the head, thus taking more than 200% of the damage with your 0 AL.
