just keep an eye out on your radar. it's important to try not to aggro any skales whatsoever.

The collector in Snake Dance has one, it requires 5 mountain troll tusks.
don't feel no pain, as much as you probably don't want to get rid of the +30 health modifier, a +7 vs. physical or +5 vs. all would be best for this.

Heh I'd do the same sometimes, depending on whether my inventory was full or not. I'd sprint to the entrance of fire-like area where you do Khobay and spawn a bunch of shadow beasts. Problem was finding a save spot to stand while killing them all. Thankfully, large groups will pretty much kill themselves from Dark Pact.

After you kill the first group of 3 driftwood and a dryder, wait at that spot for a patrol of 3 more driftwood to come. Pull them with your bow back to where you are standing. It'll make sprinting passed the group of skales that are always there much easier since you won't have to worry about being crippled.
Around the second safespot I posted there will be two dryders patroling by. They won't aggro you, but best to run to that little pond like area to kill them both. Depending on how the passive groups of skales have spawned, you should be safe from the wandering groups. If not, just make sure to look ahead first and judge how far they appear to be wandering.
If it looks too congested, run to the other side of that small pond, almost to the point where you're aggroing the stationary group of skales that will always be in that corner. Stay in that small corner there, and kill the group of driftwood had you not already dispatched them while standing at the second safespot. Pull the dryder patrols to your little corner (or to wherever it's safe) and make quick work of them. Look ahead, and you should be able to judge a safe path to the cave.

another trick that I have been using lately is to use the shadow mob patrols to help me. After I have killed the the first 2 mobs of driftwoods and the dryder, I will aggro the Shadow monk/2 warrior group and bring them for a visit to the first mob of skales.
After sprinting away the two groups realize they don't like each and the shadows always win. Without the first patrol of skales walking around the rest of it is super easy to time.

Just to mention it, it seems to me that Armored Cave Spiders only use Melandru's Resiliance if they have more than one condition on them. So throwing up a bleed or a deep wound shouldn't make them use that nasty regen.
I don't have Hundred Blades, so I just bring Sever Artery instead. Everything down there can bleed and I like giving enemies degen.

The game mechanics probably view Deep Wound as a higher threat compared to Bleeding. Afterall, who wouldn't.

I took a break from this run for a week, because i got pissed. Too many skales in the way. Started again yesterday after my HOH Win First run, DIED stupid ghost guy, RUN or something! Next try, 4 shards, 2 rares, and lot and lots of wood Same build i've been using since day one, and your original build Racthoh. Some of my guildies wanted to know how to do it, so i got a free run . Still getting good stuff without even finishing a whole run LOL (I suck), maybe i'll stop being crazy and try to finish a run.

Umm i never noticed thsi before, but last night im doign thsi showing a guildmate, and the spiders use distracting shot now.... they never used too.

The spiders do come like that, it is normal.
In the midst of a run, cleared the front of the tunnel... never hit by a distracting shot. Still doable.

i think the monster ai does something differently when there is more than 1 threat present. for example, when i farm grawl outside of port sledge alone, they never used signet of agony. however, when i did it with a pet or a guildie, they would do the signet + plague touch combo.
my thoughts are that monsters are less aggressive with only 1 threat present. racthoh, when you show people, do you ever let them fight alongside of you? yichi, can you confirm distracting shot?
i've done this run alongside a friend before and i didn't notice any distracting shots.

One time I had someone along with me for the entire time and we both survived quite handily. He was using an axe, and me with my sword. Neither one of us was using any spells.
I know the Grawls will use Signet of Agony when you're close to being dead, or when two or more targets are around them. Annoying things with also sometimes use Chilblains as well for the 7 degen transfer.

On me they never use distracting shot. They use savage shot when i forget to get on Watchful Spirit, otherwise all they do is called shot, apply poison, and healing spring.

Dude use sever art and gash if they through up Melandru's Resiliance use wild blow it disrupts stance so they don't regen from bleeding or deep wound

yes they use dis shot still np lure the fist 3 out and kill let all the spiders come out then run away ( so that their h spring isn't on top of each other) let the spiders spread out ,then go in
i'll show anyone takes about 40 to 50 mins per run spiders should only be able to try and use hspring once unless you are fighting 2 or 3 beside each other

After looking at this thread, I tried this as well. I'm one of those people (some say cowards) that believe good defense beats good offense... so after several experiments I ended up with this build:
Strength 11 + 1 + 3
Tactics 10 + 1
Axe M 10 + 1
The reason I have 15 in strength is so that I can keep dolyak signet up indefintely. Most people would probably put it in axe for more damage. I also carry a minor rune strength helm for running until I get to safe zones away from the skales (+75 hp for 1 less second of sprint). The only reason I went with axe over sword is because of the lower adrenaline skills (to beat wastrel's worry easier) and just the fact I had a zealous axe with +7 shelter. I also use a -2 in stance shield.
Skills:
Sprint (obviously)
Flurry (adrenaline building, stance for -2 on the shield)
Dolyak Signet (+40 armor all the time, makes me really slow)
Watch Yourself (+20 armor when I need it)
Healing Signet
Cleave (low adrenaline +dmg attack)
Executioner's strike (the other adrenaline +dmg attack)
Shields Up (Great, probably the best, defense against rangers).
Fighting strategies are the same... I use shields up when I'm pulling (no movement penalty, faster pulling) and also when I use healing signet... with the two other armor boosting skills the spiders will still do 0 damage even when using healing sginet. I shouldn't be taking damage while not using healing signet anyways so the only damage I ever get is from poison (and occasional healing signets without shields up). Even though it has the 10 energy cost zealous axe (or sword, with or without flurry) with no energy based attack means I would have nearly full energy all the time. Also, having shields up also makes this (I think) a little more lag proof.

Linkid: You can kill the spiders with that? I took my considerably more offensive axe-build down there an spent fifteen minutes bashing three of them, and in the end managed to kill _one_ before getting bored and giving up...
