To be honest, I've been having problems with these boards since I've joined. I'm on EST, and it can be noon or midnight, 2PM or 2AM, and these boards are sluggish as all hell.
I've got a 3.0 Mbps/768kbps DSL connection at home, so it's really not an issue on my end. My work connection feels more sluggish than my home connection, but it's still not enough to explain why these boards are so slow. It's basically to the point where I cilck a link and then surf another window until this one pops up with the information I'm looking for.

Same, I got the laggyness (is that a word ?) just about everyday. After about 10 min it goes away. It's pretty slow because I read random new articles on my Firefox RSSs.

Slow isn't the word..either takes a good min or 2 to load or page times out.

Seems like others above experience the same things I do (fine internet connect, fast loads on other pages, few minutes wait to load pages sometimes or even time outs.)

The load times are horrible right now. I waited through 2 timeouts and a load time of close to a minute just to post my complaint.

Yes today the site is extremely slow. In a race between syrup, a snail, and this server the snail and syrup would beat the server by a year....

Four full minutes with 6 time-outs just to get from forum lists to this page. I would judge that is a wee bit on the slow side

Slowest loading site on the web, in my estimation. Feels like I'm running a 33k dial-up. Once in awhile it is better, but that is the exception.

Yesterday was horrible; VERY HORRIBLE. Either it would load a page in 2 minutes or not load at all. If I had more than two tabs, the pages wouldn't load at all but take 5 minutes to just say the page timed out.

Very slow for me every day that I'm on (basically every day). At first I thought it was because I had Guild Wars running in the background, but I tested and the answer is no. My computer isn't the greatest piece of work out there, but still decent. I'm fairly certain that the amount of users significantly increases the load time for me. Estimated load time for me is about 1 minute depending on thread size, and amount of users on. At peak hours bigger threads won't load and I will get a "page cannot be displayed" screen (occurs with smaller threads sometimes). Load time for editing my posts is usually about 2 minutes. And load time on Auction... *shudders in fear behind a chair*.

Okay, the speed is a lot better than before, but it is still kind of slow. It might be whatever you Administers are doing or me disabling Enhanced Prefetching on Firefox.

It's not intolerable, but the site is slow and I received several timeouts while trying to load some threads in Riverside. I figure I've been here since about 12:30 pm pacific-about 45 minutes now.

It is has been very slow to me right now even slow than GWonline that use the same sofrware and TGH.I gert 404 and 500 Errors and I would say it works best on IE atm.The board I work on works instantly I am not sure if it is because we use PhPbb Fully Modded board.It feels like the LA freeway.

I"ve found the forums in general to be rather slow, compared to just about any other site I routinley visit. On Peak hours, such as at nighttime, I get plenty of timeouts, and posting, is close to impossible.

Agreeing with Wilhelm.
Auction place looks decent enough, but by actually bidding, the server goes time-out (blank screen at /auction/bid.php) and have to redo the whole steps, taking up about 3-5 minutes to get back to your item-of-interest page.

The GWGuru forums are incredibly slow, regardless of internet speed and user-end conditions. Most phpBB forums have this problem,although Guru is the worst due to its immense userbase. I think the code is either poorly written or just not designed to contain thousands of users. That's what happens when the cheap/free solution is used, kinda like if the official Guild Wars website was a myspace blog. Fansites shouldn't be the primary gathering spots for an entire community of MMO gamers, but it is because there's no alternative in this situation.
