I will be adjusting and testing new builds, but I'll miss the one I've been using for so long. I was comfortable with it. Maybe it's time to change my secondary and see what that will bring.

You've presumably played some PvP - do human players stand still and bang on the warrior while the elementalists bomb them? Are PvP matches orderly affairs where the opposition does as you want? So a Tank in PvP beating you to within an inch of your life when he hasn't taken a scratch runs off shitting himself at the slightest sniff of AoE damage does he?
Sure the mobs are now just like humans. I always see IWAY teams run off screaming as soon as a flame trap goes off. AI my arse.
And from the other angle, PvP players aren't 8 levels higher than you with tonnes more armour and the ability to decimate a team if they get anywhere near them.
It's not coded, implemented, or even tested properly as far as i'm concerned.
It doesn't even make the game harder. If it gets messy just nuke and regroup. If anything it's not harder in a average fight, but just takes longer, which in a limited (pve) game, where many have a top level characters and want to rush new ones through ASAP without having to crawl through every quest/mission/area they've seen all before again, is disasterous for the grind/irritation factor.
And how much 'use' will you get out your new Necro and Mesmer PvE buddies when Aatxes break aggro from a Firestorm and smash them into the turf in 2 hits? Still noone has answered this as yet.
The whole thing just stinks of a cheap, quick fix to stop farming and nothing else. I'd even bet the effects for Elem's and others weren't even considered. They just tested if farming was more of a bitch or not.
When they code 'AI' into the mobs, fair enough. But the 'run away when any AoE hits' that they do now is pathetic. I want to take the damage enemies dish out and pile it back on. I want to survive a battle, not chase fleeing enemies around in circles for 20 mins. I bought Guild Wars. Not Ape Escape.

Don't feel sorry for Eles. This is a hamhanded way of opening different doors for them in terms of playstyle, not a punishment.

Guild War starts with the game taking care of both community PVE and PVP, which PVE player enjoy social and economy by farming and team play as their daily activity, PVP player gets the challenge by testing out their builds for every skill change, they are easily adapted to change everytime, since most of them are PRO.
It was a good start for ANet to sell out million copies, because of both PVE and PVP commnunity support. If the change makes one community unacceptable, sure it is faliure on ANet side without clear thinking of their game direction as they started.
If people say game is so easy, then take the challenge and go PVP.

Besides, it's not like you need Fissure armor anyway... if you're a hardcore gamer, you'll still be able to get Fissure armor, and that's what it's there for.

Monk boss giving you trouble? Hit it with a Fireball and watch it flee.
Monsters dropping wards? Hit them with a Phoenix and watch them run out of them.
Using henchmen to get around? Watch them 'run' from a Deep Freeze, and die in a hail of Water Tridents.
Ice Imps using Maelstrom? Watch as the henchmen still stand in them.
Pinesoul have you in its sights? Hit it with a Fireball and watch it run in circles.

Which is especially sad since nobody has ever proved that solo farming was actually HURTING anyone. All you can hear is the same "GW is a teamgame" BS. Why can't it be BOTH a teamgame and a sologame?

You know, if GW isn't supposed to be playable solo, then why have Henchies? Why have the pre-searing section pratically all solo? (still one of my favorite things in GW).
The missions should need a group, but if people want to farm the Northern Shiverpeaks or whatever solo, let them.

teams lol guild wars lol - find me a scenario when i go go through a day and find 7 other people that will actually stay through the whole mission sigh, lol this cracks me up you know -i have come to a realization - essentially everyone here is right to a degree - its different some people like that, which is great. Some people hate it (me included), but fine so be it,whats done is essentially done ive signed petitions ive posted here cause i want to show my disapproval using my 1st admendment right.
its just funny cause lol now its even harder to put together a decent team, let alone a team that will actually stay with you to completion of the mission. its almost like doing team areanas - everyones racing around changing their builds - lol and now few people have any idea of whats actually going on it seems (not that im a true expert) - im just upset cause i got this real cool ele and real cool solo monk that i had so much fun taking people to UW with me on my solo monk - i never really hard core soloed cause i found it kinda boring - so what i did was use my solo monk to tank why the rest of the party aided me in killing creatures - but as most UW savvy people know the solo monk can only solo up to a point so it was always fun and cool and still very challeging. its nice that the ai are now aware of aoes, good for them lol but like i just hope at the very least they modify it so that they are not so bloody silly about how they deal with it, its just funny. but like i dunno, i just hope they at the very least fix the ai coding a bit . I think its easier, actually, especially to solo cause lol you have so much more time to cast stuff - what it does however is make it take sooooo much longer to do anything - which yea lol is funny cause i mean i dont have all the time in the world dedicated to chasing tundra giants and stone summit. Yet, once again ironically - a bot will be made , i personally dont support this but to each his own, especially because now it takes longer more people will prolly be inclined to programming themselves bots which (although most likely not the purpose of the update) a likely side effect none the less.
but well that bout it just wanted to say it was fun debating with all ya all - no hard feelings to those that insulted zelda an RPG that i love...sure im prolly not hardcore or nothin - but i love zelda and i love morrowind and oblivion should rock, and ill be so happy and its release is not far off.

And pre-searing is a training ground to get you used to the interface, nothing more.

Actually, those sweatshops of people farming are the problem. And frankly, getting rid of solo play won't stop them, they'll just join in groups and still get the same amount of gold/items for their enterprise.
(Bots, for that matter, could also be programmed to work in groups with networked computers).
There's just no way to stop people from buying Gold online, even though I agree such practices hurt the economy.
Anyway, as it's been mentioned the patch really doesn't stop solo farming anyway, so the point is moot.
So, I ask again, what's wrong with legitimate players wanting to play the game solo?

I am all for whacking bots and ebayers. I only would like to be able to play GW in many different ways including solo farming every now and then. Perferrably without someone giving me the "GW is a multiplayer" mantra every time I do it. Yes, the patch made bot farming harder. Good! It didn't made solo farming harder (despite it probably was ONE of Anets intentions to do that patch). Also good! It still leaves a sad feeling to see (even in one of Gaile's posts) that a part of your playstyle is actually unwelcome in GW.

just a thought but when u take ele as a profession now how does it work in the ice mountians when u first get the fire storm skill and you are told to use it to kill the 3 or so waves of ice golems that attack so u can protect the woman (forgot her name) while she completes her ritual?
this is like the update where they screwed all the material prices but still left the crafters charging more to craft items (linen) than it is to buy it
why does anet always talk about we are going to do this soon (auction house/ system etc) then go off on a mad tangent and do something totally different
