it should be a seasonal option button in between the create and delete button as mentioned before and it should be a benefit or gift of the holiday seasons like wintersday and halloween but not during rest of the year since the confusion w/ friends list and guildies.

As previously mentioned there are issues with the tedious nature of name changes, but it's not something that a minuscule amount of coding could fix. Let's face it. It's not that Anet doesn't care about PvE players, or the issue in this thread. It's just that due to the nature and conditions associated with such an issue, the time and effort required has yet to be massed in order to address the issue properly. Yes there have been many viable solutions and ideas provided in this forum to address these issues, and for all we know Anet may have future plans to implement one of these; however at the time it just isn't practical - quite frankly they have bigger fish to fry. For now all we can do is make this issue metaphorically into a "bigger fish" - That means getting as many people as you can to sign this.

I think name changing "might" become crazy switching back and forth. Make it chargeable like someone else mentioned. Maybe dye traders can also "dye your hair...or change your hair style for that matter. I dont think face should change but you should be able to change your hair style....dont we?

I would like to see the ability to change name and hair, would like to see it set up kind of like Fable. For people that have never played it if you make your guy eat all kind of crap he gets fat, if he is in the sun a lot he gets a tan, if he carries a big weapon he gets swole up ect ect ect

for anyone who is worried about friends list/ignore list...these are account based so changing a characters name would have no effect on losing your friends or having ignored people being able to bother you again.

I have a PvP Mesmer with about 300 or so Reward Points spent into, and I don't like his name, or the way he looks, but I don't want to have those RP's go to waste...

Tbh i don't think they are really NAME-binded, but more on some kind of identity of the char (since hero's can use them). If you change your name, the identity of your char won't change, neither will the customization (except that the name will change, which i think it just reads from the char-information)

I'd like this option, but it's as low of a priority to me as changing the color of my character's armor :P I agree that there should be a fee though, so that it wouldn't be abused.

I'd rather change my character's appearance than the name. Honestly, some of the tyrian characters look atrocious, and have come to look better with each campaign. I would love to be able to change the appearance instead of having to remake them. Appearances are a much bigger issue than character names, IMO.

I do like to be able to change hair/skin tones/faces etc with whatever is available across the campaigns.
I am a very visual person and it annoys me having to make an ugly character in proph because I need her to start on presearing for instance, when the same class in NF has tons more hair styles/colors and faces much prettier!
