Collector's items and quest rewards can have arbitrary graphics. I have a similar long sword myself that I use with Illusionary Weaponry.

I think Healing Spring is definitely underused. It's like an unremovable AOE Healing Breeze with no 10-regen cap-- what's not to love?

There is a boss Thorn Stalker with Aftershock in Bloodstone Fen, but you may have to try a few times to get him to spawn. He can appear about 1/3...
