Yes. Max level is 20... Doesn't take long to reach it.

I'm fairly sure. It's that way because with only 1 person on each side the Skill and Strategy required to win is somewhat reduced.

MAinly bigger PvP battles. I do not believe 1v1 PvP's are available. You can still prosper without a guild, But it's easier to find people...

Yes. It's pretty easy to recognize a spell... Pretty much every skill a Mesmer/Necromancer/Elementalist has is a spell.
