I think Glyph of Elemental Power is fine. No need to encourage spikers with this skill.

This skill is a must in PvP, especially 8vs8 (unless you have a boon prot or something similar). To have a constant control on any kind of spikes...

Depends, was he enchanted? and were you gaining energy when he was hitting? Maybe he was dealing holy damage, which stays unaffected by this...
