fortitude grips are useless junk. But like striderkaaru said...your job isn't to deal damage...it's to absorb damage

use your elementalist as a shutdown mesmer, will an energy pool that large you could be quite effective. It's challenging and interesting.

depends on what you want to play. Ranger/Mes would make an outstanding shutdown/interupter.

it was designed to be split by a group of 8 people...that's only 125 each. Certainly not too expensive.
