yeah the missions are what usher you to the next zone...i didn't figure that out until i was level 13, then i went back and did every mission...

i did this same quest, and found two signs that said 'king's watch' i swear i killed every single mob in that zone and the quest would...

i too am curious about this it is my understanding that trainers only sell you skills that you could have obtained by doing quests in a previous...
