Just play an elemesmer, you miss out on fast casting, whippety-do.
No need to Throw Dirt when they close on you, as they should be blinded from Dust Trap already. I'd either save Throw Dirt for when they lose...

Yeah the lag has been so bad recently I've been finding other games to play. I got on earlier today and it was laggy in my freaking guild...
What I think is hilarious is that you would even use a vampiric shadow bow. It's in the slowest-firing class of bows in the game.
