There are supposed to be more secrets? I thought the Zaishin Chest was the secret, i dunno though. Wouldn't it have been revealed since friday...

NPC's are non player computers, Heroes are customizable allies only available in Nightfall and eye of the north.

I agree, it's a good option for people, there isn't any lvl restriction on getting to the other areas like Factions.
