Many people do have multiple characters. I myself have 8 different ones. You don't need to do it for different skills tho because you can...

If its for an unacceptable name they normally let you change it I think. If thats the case then you'll be able to see which one they thought...

I have no idea why but I've noticed the same thing with superior runes.

I normally wear Lightbringer since its the only one that actaully needs to be worn for its effect.

Read the transcript from the dev chat. It sounds like there are going to make the armors inscriptible with GW:EN....
