I'm sure I'm not the only one....... Since the new year I have a Warthog pet - I also got a minipet pig at the event so now I can run...

I did similar to what you want to do - though I didn't go mesmer secondary. I started in Cantha and as soon as I could I got the boat to Lions...

If you can afford it i'd suggest buying one of the other games. Either would help you as you have LA unlocked you could travel to either...

I always heal , until last night. I couldn't find an UW group as a heal monk - would you believe it. Got in to one as a Bonder in a 5 man team...

Work your way down toward 1 or 55 HP in steps until you find your own level. 400 HP OK for you - go down to 300 HP 300 HP OK - go down to 200 etc...
