Sounds like the video card slowly letting out its death wail. With that much dust trapping heat over the long term, it probably did its damage....
I didn't have a single issue with lag during the entire event, even at peak times. I am quite sure ISP is to blame for most lag experienced....
As long as GW2 doesn't facilitate the need to do extra-combat activities, I don't care what they add.
