If they're inscribable, yes. If not, no. Check to see if it says 'Inscription: xxx' somewhere on the item.

I sort of soloed them once. I probably would have got them but I was going up a steep hill and couldn't pull them into my spirits without them...

You can kill the Smites. It's a bit tricky but possible. Spread the spirits out so they don't all get hit by Zealot's Fire. Recreate...
