/signed for the req to be lower.

like 1-consumables.
2- weapons.
3-armor.

But not for removing it completely. I don't think that would work:P

I agree, but more like...

Rank 2 - consumables.
Rank 3 - weapons.
Rank 4 - armor.

That would mean that by the time you finished an area through the story (all quests) you'd probably be able to get the armour, or at the very least only have to rep farm a small amount.

Peace,

Grinding for armor is more work then doing nothing for armor.

Really, this isnt a hard thing to accomplish and IMHO is much faster than fighting through missions to Luxon or Kurzick elite areas and then having to AB forever to earn jade or amber.
Easy answer, if you want the armor, then put the effort in for it.

It's rank 5. It's takes an hour to grind there per title. It's not that hard. It's different and appealing in my opinion.

The player should work for the armours but not grind, some people are really exaggerating how it only takes an hour or so to get the title.. i got r5 vanguard and it took approximately 4 hours of grinding.

Just put a stupidly hard quest in to unlock access to the armour crafters for each group or something :P

Its not that hard to get to r5 by doing quests and killing mobs on the way.
I'm doing a faction each saturday and it takes about 2-3 hours to hit r5.

I did Asura grind just for cool shades!

Well worth it, but all said the way it works now is fine. Now people will think I'm even cooler when they see me knowing it cost more than just gold and materials.

I don't see a reason for it to change, there are things in the game I don't like but this isn;t one of them. It's a challenge, so? Take away the challenge you take away the satisfaction.

That's my 2 cents

> If somethings worth doing, it would have been done already.

not signed, people who whine for this, are just lazy .and don't forget, that now comes this reputation event, so getting double reputation for 3 days -.-

rank 5 is even without this help easily reached by normal playing, especially the dwarven title

I did exactly the same with my main character, but i still feel that lowering the rank requirement by one for each trader would be fairer all round.

After beating the game you're at r4 (probably)...only 10k more...that's 3-4 runs at Magus Stones...Not hard.

How about a tradeoff.

Leave it at Req 5. Upon completion of the game or particular stages, drop the requirement a rank or two as a reward for accomplishment, depending on the level of accomplishment. For example, finish the Asura leg and Asuran armor req drops to 4. Complete the game and the req drops to 3.

Sure people who get "rushed" will still be stuck trying to earn extra points, but anybody who played the game as it was intended probably has at least a rank of 3 or close to it (or in a lot of cases, a lot more) and the rank requirement is meaningless for them anyway at that point.

Just my two bits. Not that it will happen or doesn't have flaws.

Maybe just giving more XP per related quest/mission quest to aid getting the rank would be good idea.

I wouldn't have a problem if it was like this(as an example); If you finished all of the Asura quests you would be left with the req asura title, maybe after finishing the last Against The Destroyers quest line for them you get a big fat chunk of asura title points (And same for Norn quests/etc).

That sounds logical to me.

I'm still happy to grind for it though, it's fun just to KILL KILL KILL for a few hours here and there with no real meaning! I'm not convinced that the way it is is 'broken' though so happy to go without a 'fix'.

Actually I like having to earn armor this way it makes it more of a challenge. It's kinda funny though how noobs always want things to be easy Imo lol

If you complete the game, you automatically will get to rank 5 and be able to get the armor. there's no grind involved, if you don't like the game and don't want to play it, why do you even need to have the armor to a part of the game that you don't even want to play?

This thread is over four months old. In fact, I don't think they had even made the change to include the 20,000 point bonus for the hero's handbooks until after the last real post in this topic. Why did you dig this up just to express favor towards GW:EN's crafting system and your disdain for 'noobs' who want to craft armor the traditional way?

You get to 5k just by making the story, a couple of dungeons OR clearing a couple of areas in normal mode.

It's not so hard reaching rank 5 with a character.

The big deal is the rank 10, but there are other threads for that.

What the hell are you talking about grind.

I checked all EOTN armors from Wiki and decided to get Asuran. Then I played throught story, filled book, played minigames etc. I got r3 at norn, r3 at ebon vanguard, r5 at deldrimor, just playing throught story and doing 8 dungeons.

So, i had full Hero's Handbook and I returned it to Asuran guy who gave me 20k asuran point. Whoa, then I was almost r6 at asuran. And even without returning dungeon book!

I don't really understand what grinding you are talking about when it comes to EOTN armors.

You don't need the armor. You don't need to grind. You do need to stop whining about getting things easier in a game that is getting easier all the time.

you can get the sufficient ranks from completing all the missions and questing. it just so happens that completing all the missions and questing is what pve is. as such, if you think you need to grind to get the ranks for the armour you're calling the whole game a grind.

you can easily get 1-2 titles to r5 without grinding. If you want more armors, you'll have to grind a bit. But if you really want to have all 4 15k armors on a single char you don't mind to grind.

and I don't want to have to do all the titles for "God Amongst Mere Mortals" but it ain't gonna happen is it?

but unjokingly these ranks are painfully easy to reach they had already brought them down from the preview week so just thank your lucky stars you don't need rank 8 anymore. Theres not much grind at all just play through the story and you'll virtually be there. /nosign

Why should the Norn, Asura, Drawf or Vanguard make you armor if you havent proven your worth and trust?

This is why we have the rank/title requirement, because its part of the storyline and earning respect. You can even read the quests and it states you need to earn the respect of those races to help fight the destroyers. Remove the need for the ranks and you kill that whole side of the game.

These are races which humans have only just come in contact with, so why should they instantly craft you stuff? unless you prove yourself!

The best way to solve this issue is make the GWEN titles account based, not just to remove the titles!

Otherwise it makes NO sense that a new character with no Norn points can walk up to a Norn armor crafter and buy their armor. They havent proven anything to the Norn people or won over their trust!

Think about it!

But seriously... rank 5 is not hard to achieve in all the ranks.

Plus it would screw over all those players who have earnt rank 5 on those titles to get the armor and that would simply be unfair on them.

What i think is that the armors and weapons should be available to everybody but the higher rank u have then lower the cost and mats needed will be - like 50% off at r10 would be nice and still u wont have to grind for the rank if u dont want to.
ill /sign it anyway

i have a few armors of those
asuran on my sin
norn on my ranger
and asuran on my mesmer
with my sin and ranger i didn't discover the book but i said to hell with it and i farmed my points
i did dungeons and made money
if you can't handle clearing area's cuz the monsters are too strong for you go buy some armor from Proph/Factions or NF
it's original and good for having titles

If you can't get enough rep by the time you've completed all the main missions and a handful of sidequests in a particular faction's area, you're doing something wrong.

i think it is just another way to show off your money and being leet for amor costing more then the 1k armor, so to take the point requirement off is not needed
for the most part the rep points to get for the armor does not take much time

/notsigned. I don't farm or grind, and I'm nearly at r5 for monument armour. It's not actually that difficult. I've changed my mind from earlier. My opinion was based solely on how daunting it seemed and not on how possible it is.
