The one reason I can see them doing this is because it may lessen the strain on the servers from the constant flood of trade spam. A prelude to "downscaling" their servers so to speak.

It could be located in battle isles isles, place where all people from all campaigns can come, there are still some unused isles and it wouldn't be much trouble for developers to enlarge that map to fit in new isles.

I wouldn't give much to that picture - those outpost pictures can look deceiving.

Also: updated OP with info.

Marketplace can be placed in the Battle Islands, near to the guild hall.

Every player, no matter the expansions it has or if he is using a PVP char, can go there.

I noticed one problem Anet is going to get with their strings

is incompatible with; (NOTE this could also mean that high end sales are possible and that it referes to Ectos or other tradeables)
If anyone of the Anet People who dont read these threads so that they cant comment about projects they are not working on and never will... dont look into this so you cant doublecheck the strings which dont exist. Thank you

EDIT: It would also be nice if there was an option that the gold were added immediately to the storage space instead of suddenly giving a player 100K while in the filed trying to collect the gold drops

There is an empty area between the Great Temple and the Challenge Elite.
The space between the Zaishen Challenge and the Zaishen Elte is revisited durin the Halloween costume arena. But not the empty area I'm talking about.
If I had to place the Training Arenas I'll place them just West from the place I'm talking about.
The doors in the Great temple are also closed, instead of allowing zoning to the Zaishen Challenge.

Suggest either Prophecies or the Battle isles.

Since it would greatly help PvP players to sell HoH and Zaishen chests stuff while PvPing, if added, the best place would be there.

This is what is great about forums like this, we have taken a peek inside of the dat and WHAMO we have no found all this info and all the speculation makes everyone think and tends to provide tons of good ideas. At the very least, even if what we think is coming isnt, anet has a nice chunk of ideas to work from via our thoughts on the matter

You know, another point to back this up is the merging of all the servers to be accessible by all others. This would mean that you could use the XM to trade with Japanese, Korean and American/European players. Could be that this stopped the system from being implemented in the first place.

Still, not saying woot until I hear a response which doesn't start with "oops sorry guys!"

the longest it could have been sitting in the dat file is back to right after the release of GWEN. because it mentions items that are dedicated to the HoM and dedicated items did not come about until after everyone was complaining about the customization of mini pets.

No - because mini pets were originally "customized" rather than dedicated. If it mentions "dedicate" it would have to be info that was added after that change was made following the release of GWEN.

No, as it has been stated already in this thread it says dedicated and not customized to for minis. So that would have to be sometime after the release of GW:EN when when everyone was complaining about how they can't use them on other chars on their account.

Couldn't it just be that you get string2 if the seller has enough space in their storage plus their character but not enough space on their character alone, and they get string1 if the seller does not have enough room in their storage plus their character.

ie: If you had 900k in storage and 90k on your character, then...

• You could sell a <= 10k item and get the generic "trade done" string.
• You could sell a 10k < item <= 110k and get string2.
• You could not sell a >110k item and you would get string1.

they are going to definitely have to work on the receiving money portion of that so that it deals with people who are maxed on cash in places, be it putting the money in the unclaimed items box like you see at the end of missions and things, or allow us to hold more than the current caps on gold

I have to agree with stretchs, since even if this is currently an abandoned idea, our speculations carry enough ideas that maybe they plunk together some ideas and make it work out later .

Regarding the location of the 'Market'... is it possible it could be located in all the major cities? Most of them have market areas with stalls, such as the Merchants' Row of Lion's Arch. Perhaps it could be conducted by an NPC placed there (e.g. Xunlai Agent [Market])?
