Or he would leave and he wouldent care of being banned SO I was so eager to be thankful and take my small amount that was shown before me. However, I wanted that 4607 of mine back, bad... So I told my friend to lay this riskful final punch on him. " This is the EULA, you now have 19 minutes to pay " Wes the Wonder " his full amount of 4607 or your account will be banned. Thank you " IMIEDIETLY he starts threatning me! Telling me to accept or he would hire a hitman to blow my brains out! But I laugh knowing this was impossible and tell him one last time to give me my full price or he could get banned for months for all I could care. And thank god, he gave in and gave me my full 4607 amount of gold. Well I wanted to yell back to him " THE SCAMMER HAS BEEN SCAMMED B! " BUT my friend suggested that he should just tell Hammer: " This is the EULA, your gold payment has been met, thank you. If this is ever reported again your account will be banned permanatly. Ok so, we're all doing fine on the gates of Kryta, everything is nice and peachy. Everyone's stats are fine, no one is complaining. This warrior, decides to go AFK next to a group of the Undead. We run back so we don't get hit by the aggro. So, he dies. I bring him back with vengeance, just for a few laughs. THEN I figure he probably saw me killing him on purpose. So, he starts spamming me, he spams the whole team calling them noobs, idiots, morons, ect. saying "OMG Y DID U GIMME ALL THIS DP WTF IS WRONG WITH U WORST TEAM EVAR!!" ( Exact words said by the way )
I said for him to look at his death penalty. Then he flips out with the 15% Dp which was entirely HIS fault for going AFK infront of a massive patrol group.
We just shutup about it, until we reach the swamps with the poison effect. He decides AGAIN to go AFK in the middle of the swamp, being killed by the poison. He comes back, yells "OMFG WHY DID I DIE AGAIN!! WORST HEALER EVERR!!!!11" Everyone starts yelling at him to shutup. He left right before we killed the last Undead group to Enter LA.
For three weeks, he harrassed my guild members and my guild leader, he also harrassed the rest of the group that was with me on the mission. A few days ago I saw him standing infront of my monk trying to attempt a hug... >.> I'm officially scared to even get on. Worst of all, I send screenshots, and emails to Anet. I get only those stupid replies that you see for every email you send.
Even on ignore, he manages to find me, and my guildies which have also put him on ignore and such.. Haha.. theres my life for you.. ._. .. Yay for international districts..

At least he wasn't that persistent. I read the other stories where girl characters are harrassed. I find it sad that people try to get dates/cyber on a RPG game.

I have a small-scale antidote to small-scale jerks.
When I negotiate about a trade without somebody, or otherwise chat with them, it's all too common that they get a bit abusive. Nothing major, but I've been called "scammer", "TUAT" (sic), and so on.
Then when they want something from me, like a price concession, or even the item at the previous point, I tell them no. I would have, but they were rude, so I won't.
Hopefully, this will be a lesson that slightly improves the world of future people that happen to deal with them ...

I felt bad, but I hoped that they all died painful, horrible deaths since the only monk left.  |
Regarding the various posts above about age: well, I am 51 and I am playing GW with my wife just about every night, enjoying it very much, and I have a good job that I go to during the daytime, Monday to Friday. I know for a fact that a lot of players of GW are over 30. What angers me is when players act in a non-friendly and inconsiderate manner when in a party, such as insulting others, going afk or leaving a mission suddenly (aside from an Err=7 disconnect), running when the rest of the party does not want to, etc. etc. I can imagine that a lot of this comes from very very young players, but I am also sure that much of this kind of behavior can be seen with older players as well.

Yes I use Mending on myself a good amount of times when im running, and griffon hunting, in no way does that make me a jerk. Im a tank, im not sposed to look after somebody else, thats the monks job ( or any other type of healing/protecting class ).
And if thats the biggest jerk you have ever seen ( a player that uses a skill on themselves ), then you must have never been scammed/swore at/left behind/ect ect ect.

Half in half deal is what gets people the most, they expect the guy to really wants the cash in the end, but he would be just thankful with 50% ( especially if theres alot going with him ).

I have a W/Mo and I use mending all the time. You can't call me a jerk as I've never grouped with you and never use mending when in a group. Its one of my solo skills/running and pointless not to use such a good skill.
Saying someone is a jerk because they use mending is like saying someone is a jerk for using heal area, or rebirth, or remove hex, or savage slash... or any skill for that matter.

Me and a few friends were doing galrath. we were all somewhat of a low level. A lvl 18 asked if he could join. We got to the last zone and he went AFK. After trying to get our low level asses there, we were finally at Galrath and all of a sudden, the jackass zones. We have 30% DP and we have to go through all that shit again. He went AFK again and didnt say shit. We all left because he refused to leave.

So, I found a decent if unspectacular monk. Not the greatest at grouping the bad guys together to maximize the effect of SS. Forgot prot spirit once and dies - I cheerfully rez and we proceed. Later we run into three coldfires and does nothing but stand there wanding them them and types "kill them fast". Well, I try to cast and get a couple of interrupts...adios 2/3 my energy...he proceeds to croak and:
"g f*cking g u don't cast enough shit and pbond is spammable thats why I die."
Followed of course by the inevitable insta-leave....
Ah...I feel better.

Quite a while back there was this complete numpty who kept claiming that they had a Lvl. 23 Monk. The chat log went on for pages with this idiot claiming that their monk was Lvl.23. Here's a quick snippet I managed to grab.

That would make my primary char lvl 44 monk... and she is NO WAY better than any other lvl 20 monk, except for my superior skill in this game
Oh... anyone know if there's a chart for those "True levels"? If there is not, I will try to find time to make it

My biggest jerk is in thunderhead, he starts off acting like a noob rushing ahead and arggoing everything, amazingly we survive till the fort.
Then he starts asking what happens when you light torches, we all tell him to not light them and he then says he needs bonus and proceeds to light all the torches, drawing more mursaat and killing us.
Might not seem too bad but he also said things that shall not see the light of day again.

Belive it or not but there is a way to see a persons "true" lvl in game.... the best example i can give is in a fissure run... wait till someone drops out (they always do lol) after a while there greyed out bar will sometimes show there "true" lvl. I will try and see if I already have a screenshot of this later or maybe do a fissure run today and post one.

Belive it or not but there is a way to see a persons "true" lvl in game.... the best example i can give is in a fissure run... wait till someone drops out (they always do lol) after a while there greyed out bar will sometimes show there "true" lvl. I will try and see if I already have a screenshot of this later or maybe do a fissure run today and post one.

I've had a few jerk encounteres in the past few days:
1st:
It is my first time to go to SF to get green items with a 5 ppl group, I being the protect monk. So I tell them I'm new and they help me out. Then while we are in SF I walk near the Oro guy and accidentally start a quest thingy. Then 2 of the ppl start whinning about how I wasn't supposed to do that. I told them I didn't mean to. But as usual, nobody likes to admit they are wrong, so they just keep blabbering on. Then we all die and I map out, not caring what they have to say.
2nd:
My 2nd time to go to SF. First, I tell everyone I'm protect monk, so we leave, and the other monk is also protect. So that monk whines about how I should have told her (although I did). So after we go back to town and switch skills, we start over again. Then while we are in SF, the same monk keeps telling everyone what to do (especially me), and how she knows everything blah blah blah. She ended up leaving once she died, making everyone else happy. She didn't even get any crap from us either...
(heh, I did learn some things from this 'monk' though)
3rd:
This one was in divinity coast. I went to help a guild memeber with the mission and the 2 necros I bring along start bickering right off the start. One complains that the other is using Soul Feast and is using/wasting all the corpses, and the other one just keeps doin' it and says it's fun to annoy ppl. I couldn't decide which side to take, so I just told them: "Both of u just stop." And they stopped, thankfully.

I have two jerk stories.
1. Ages ago when I was a newbie warrior doing the frost gate mission, there was another warrior on the team. He was calling me noob and stuff for teh simple reason that my sword was not max damage and I was wearing ascalon AL 50 armour out of ascalon.
Whats the point. IM better than you because i have been further than you or what.
2. today i dropped by beacons perch in my 15k glads armour.
a level 10 wa/mo was messaging me could I run him to granite citadel. I cannot do the droknars forge run because i have not spent any effort to practise it. I have a few thoughts for getting buy the imps- I think holy veil and smite hex might work well in conjunction with each other. and i know about the charge-balanced stance combo. ok but i still cant do it, i spend my time solo farming for money. i can run anywhere else but nowhere else is a challenge really is it and i do it if asked by mates or guildies.
first this guy doesnt listen to when i explain that the way to granite citadel is via teh two hard maps which are on the way to droks. so i still cant do it.
me: i cant run to granite citadel or droknars forge.
him: yes you can you are level 20
me: this doesnt mean anything otherwise people would not be able to charge 3k for it.
him: yeas it does my mate is level 20 and he has been to droks
me: doesnt mean anything there is more than one way to droks
him: wa/mo is the best running combination in the game
me: and this doesnt mean that any wa/mo can do this run
him: well we can hire more wa/mo
