The Biggest Jerk You Ever Encountered in GW (no posting names)

My story:

I was being runned to Droks, along with 5 other people. So the runner leaves, runs, and dies right after the wurm cave. So we respawned and he retried. He dies again and said that the new build he was trying was not working for him, and that he would change to his old build. So he dies again in his old build. By this time, we started getting frustrated. He said that he was having a bad day, with unluckly spawns and all. So this ranger in the group said that he would quit if he dies one more time. So this time, the runner went pretty far before dying yet again, though I'm not sure why because I went afk at this point. Well, the ranger didn't quit, but after the runner got past the caves, said "I'm not paying for this run. You're wasting my time." I suppose we all tought he was just joking. The runner actually zoned to the next map this time. Upon reaching the first payment point, we all payed except for the ranger, who kept on insiting that this run was free because the runner had wasted the ranger's time. Of course, I started yelling that the ranger was a noob. He starts rambling about his haxor 1337 FoW armored characters and stuff. The runner became really angry and asked if we wanted to go back to beacons, kick the ranger, and retry the run for free. I, not wanting to go through the pain of the wurm caves anymore, actually payed for that ranger's 1.5k. I then realized that I would have to pay for the ranger's full run of 3k. I was REALLY poor back then, so I asked the runner if I needed to pay for the rest. The runner said no so I was pretty happy. We kicked the ranger at Rankor. Here, yet ANOTHER person in the group didn't want to pay, saying that he had paid the full amount before the run. We kicked him too and finished the run.

FREAKING NOOBS

You are aware of course that by doing so you are only enabling the moron to do it more. Far as he's concerned he could do it again, and have some other poor sap pay for it.

The guy didn't only not learn his lesson, he got a free ride out of it. I would have opted with going back, kicking him and taking a free ride. Might take longer, but you don't let assholes like that suck you out of 1-3K.

Reading all these posts really makes me RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GOing mad.. I mean, we are letting these jerks get away scot free for it.

After reading all these jerk thread. I come up with a conclusion for this. We need more peoples with admin power online in Guild Wars. I know this make it sound like a FPS Battlefield2, Counter Strike (where i'm still an admin for the server) But with admins online or quick response support staffs to ban people in second. It would make the population of jerks smaller. Granted, this would piss off whole load of peoples, but hey if you act like jerks, you get what you deserved.

I only met few jerks while playing Guild Wars, one being a 12 year old A-Hole, cuss out our mesmer first than took upon himself to called the team a piece of S@*% than continue to make fun of the mesmer than to our two necro. Finally he left the game which was a relief but our tomb run was wasted and no one got anything good out of it.

Well my first proper Jerk would probably be a protector monk in Tomb I wen stance warrior the guy was busy saying go what you want I am alright with it.

When I went inside he asked me to lure so I did. a few secs later he forgets to cast prot spells and ends up getting me killed due to running outta stance time...

after that he started saying "OMG MAN your stuffing this whole run up your meant to lure not hide (which I wasnt) DIP$^!!

few secs later i aggro a small group of monsters he starts yelling at me for getting more then 3 (which coincidentaly there are only packs of 3) I said get a ranger he said fine we go back. Kicks me out and dumps a mesmer in his group.

Oh another is a monk casting mending in Glints mesmer lair on you OVER AND OVER AND OVER again.

Well, there was this ass who kept calling me b1tch and stuff -.-; On the Divinity Coast Mission, I told everyone only 1 person should get cleansed, so that annoying eye doesn't attach to eye. Well this 1 person objected and said:
"you noob, we automatically get cleansed dumba$$. If we didn't, people would be running this mission."

In a matter of fact, you can run this mission, because if you do not step into the fountain that cleanses you, you do not have to be glued to that stupid Eye.

OK - Here's a quick respite from the on-going "Jerk-a-thon."

I was in the Citadel today, selling materials. One guy bought 5 Deldrimore steel ingots from me - at the price I asked, no haggling or anything! So, I opened a new trade window with him and gave him a couple of egg nogs as freebies (trying to clear out my inventory a bit ). he accepted and opened a new trade window with me, offering 750g! I asked him what was that for, thinking he needed more materials. He said "Freebie!"

These leet jerks who claim to never die are all around. Maybe some of you really agree with them, but...

Random arena, 2 on the team are dead, one is going down, one fairly healthy.

Ever hear of TEAMWORK, people? While the two air spikers and the warrior are concentrating on beating my squishy mesmer butt with Distortion and a pathetic-excuse-of-a-healing-spell Ether Feast, you oughta be KILLING them!

Guys, the best defense is really the Ignore list. Don't just ignore the jerk by not paying attention to his PMs, add him to the list and he will receive a message saying that he's ignored when he PMs you. And all a jerk wants to do is to send messages to you and keep it flaming.....just imagine how pissed he will be when he finds out he can't!
I know this from my own experience, and I wasn't flaming anybody, I just tried to defend myself (my monk character) against some guy explaining to me how attacking the bonus group of 20 White mantle on Aurora glade with 3 lvl 17 characters is perfectly possible and heal-able. I got carried away and damn, I was pretty pissed he ignored me after a while. So I imagine that for a "beef pro", it must be even worse.

The biggest jerk was me, yesterday.

I helped some guildies get through Abbadons mission, and when we arrived in Hell's Precipice, I told them I was afk to go eat. Well apparently I was still grouped with non-guildies and while I was afk I was merged into a group of 8, and w/o even making sure I was there they entered the mission.

I come back, sit down, see 8 people in my group, and I say "wow I was afk for 5 minutes and somehow I'm in a group doing the mission". The clock counts down and I'm yelling(in chat), "stop!!". We entered.

Of course, I didn't have time to be doing Hells so I told them sorry, but I was afk and I'm not doing this mission. And so I left them, all hurt and confused, they hadn't even been in the mission 30 seconds, and one of the monks has to leave.

O the humanity!

This thread has got me wondering. I know people can report and send pictures to ANet. But there still seems to be this distinct feeling of lack of enforcement.

Does anyone know first hand about anyone ever having their account banned or closed due to misbehaviour?

I had 2 in one pug for the Thirsty River mission. Before this group I had beaten this mission on 2 other characters and had no problems. I had always beat it on the first try and also got the bonus.

I was playing full heal monk and we had another monk who was primary heal and some protection. This was in a party of 6 so we obviously had a lack of hardhitting firepower, but it seems that monks are more and more common recently.

At the very beginning of mission:
Jerk 1 (lvl 18): My health is 285 of 285
I inwardly groan because he seems to thin that he is the worlds best Necro tank

After talking to Ghost:
Jerk 2: Ok everyone listen to me. I have done this mission many times and the only way you can beat it is for everyone to rush in and take out the priest right off.
Ele: you want us to al go in and not kill everything else? I am really squishy.
Jerk2: Yes it is the only way to win

We all die in the last area and we restart as a team. I know I should have looked for a new group but there were very few people in the outpost.

When we get to the first area the 2nd time:
Jerk 2: Ok everyone just do what I tell you and we will be fine

First mob Jerk 2 runs past followed by ele, and other monk
I am healing the Jerk 1 and the mesmer because they got stuck in a mob of enchanted warriors and such. I dropped 3 heal others, a Word of Healing, and an Orison all one after another into Jerk 1 (my healing was at 14 with divine at 12).

Jerk 1 dies...
Jerk 1: I can't heal my self. You F---ing monks can't just run off and leave me here. You f---ing suck!
Me: suck it, I sunk 3 heal others, a word of healing, and an orision into you. did you notice you health kept going up?
Jerk 1: Oh, well sorry *stops being a jerk*
Previously known as Jerk 1: Jerk2 you can't just leave us here to die, you are our only tank!
Jerk 2: We have to all go for the priest right off or we can't win

when we get to last area 2nd time:
Jerk 2: Ok, everyone listen. I am not trying to be bossy but I have done this mission many times and if we all go after the preist first we can win.

after killing first group (including priest):
Jerk 2: Wait everyone. We will attack the next group when the timer hits 4:30
Previously known as Jerk 1: Why not when it hits 3:45? Resurrect is on a 2 minute interval.
Jerk 2: It is not a challenge if we start then
All: We just want to finish the stupid mission. This is our second time through.
Previously known as Jerk 1: Ok lets go on 3:45 then
Jerk 2: No, 4:30
Jerk 2: OK, you guys need to realize something *long pause* I have done this mission many times and I know how it works *long pause* if you all can't start being nice and working as a team I am going to leave


When timer reaches 3:45 we all go except Jerk 2 who hangs back until everyone else has aquired aggro and then runs in at the priest...

Same thing kept happening until the whole party had DP and we were on the last group. We somehow convince all but Jerk 2's guildie (the mesmer) that attacking the priest first won't work because we are all too squishy and we finished the mission. We finished when the timer was at about 16 or so minutes and obviously did not get the bonus

I guess I was kinda a jerk too for retaliating, but oh well. Just another case of the self-appointed leader being a moron because he thinks he knows everything (but sadly does not) and his moronism grating on everyone else's nerves until none of us were very nice. Oh well we finished it...

Well, maybe we should look at it differently.

GW has something like a million or so players, I'd think with the law of averages being what it is that means there are a lot of jerks, bad players and 12 yr old kiddies with lousy attitudes and worse language skills among those.

As annoying as it is to deal with these people (and it is) lets just be glad that the same law also means there's a lot of great people in the game who enjoy playing it.

Ignore the jerks, enjoy the good ones.

PS: I've gotten a few messages out of the blue from total strangers lately calling me names, I've heard a few friends say the same thing, anyone familiar with this latest idiocy?

Yeah, had this happen once myself, and a few guildies have said something similar happened to them. Maybe it's replacing jokes about a certain no-talent actor as the new fad. x.x
