So I accepted his invite and he zoned out right away, and before i could even load the area (i have a slow computer xP) he had already gotten the reward and ditched me. So I PM him when I get back in:

I get into an argument with an Elementalist about the usefullness of Elementalists vs. the usefullness of SS nukers (post AoE-nerf). While the actual argument is irrelevant, the end, however, is quite funny.

We get to the first group, half the party dies, and the monk complains that he didn't have any energy to heal. Of course, I watched him standing in the middle of a couple Chaos Storms, and I'm not going to BR anyone doing that.
In the third fight, I click BR and end up chasing the monk for a few seconds before giving up and going back to hexing things. The team wipes from multiple groups hitting us, and the monk demands to know who aggroed them all at once.

All through the conversation before that she was going around calling me "newb" for coming up with counters to her knockdown build. When I said whirling defense she goes "newbs like you rush to use any defensive skill they have to keep themselves from dieing, and they still die." Laughed at her after that, didnt even pay attention the rest of the conversation. She DID have a decent hammer build, which she learned from watching many high ranked gvgs.
She was just not good enough to defend against touch rangers, which is sad for someone with FoW armor.

A while back I was ABing, on my Sword War in fact..after never having played anything but a monk there..proceeded to get a group and entered. I'm not a great Warrior, so..I died, a lot..
So after I leave the party (had to go) when we get back to town, a guy from the group seems to think its necessary to call me a noob and tell me why not to run off..etc.

My first jerk post got deleted probably because of racism. Here is another I encountered recently:
Monks seem to think they are wanted everywhere, and needed everywhere. Most of the time they are. We decided to bring a Monk along to the Thirsty River. Some guy asks to see my Eternal Bow. I show him the bow, and then the Monk demands to see it. I show the Monk my Eternal Bow (15-28 +15% while enchanted, Sundering 20%/20, HP+29. Req. 8) He immediately calls me a 'noob' and says he has alot of perfect bows he would want to sell me. I tell him nothing is wrong with the bow, and I also tell him I dont want to buy any of his bows. His exact words: F-UCK YOU NOOB I AM LEAVING AND NOW YOUR ENTIRE PARTY IS GOING TO FAIL HAHAHAHA. Then a few seconds later he leaves but not before saying something else which I just cant seem to remember. Anyways, we did the Mission + Bonus with 5 people and no Monk.
He, like most monks, suck at being a monk. They have the completely wrong build and burn all of their energy in seconds. People die left and right with those kinds of Monk builds. With my build no one ever dies, and as far as I can remember I dont think anyone has died.

This sounds like a jerkless story to me. I don't believe there's any shame in not having high skill (everybody's new to everything at least once) but in a team situation people are counting on you, and being lectured afterwards may be annoying but is not out of line.

It's not to say that I never bring my res signet...I do on occasion. If the team seems a bit...slow...I will definitely bring it, or perhaps if I failed a mission before (sometimes I go out with henchies to check out the 'lie of the land'). All I'm saying is, if the mission is easy enough, and someone tells everyone to bring their res signets, I will still make up my own mind. Just wanted to clear that up before people start flaming me for being "anti-res sig"

it started out ok while getting the party together, one of the other eles (e/me) asked my build and i gave it, and then shock horror i get called a noob for being undecided and taking flare (bearing in mind my ele has pretty much been out of action for a few months). then comes the line that seriously pisses me off: "i hate e/mo, they suck, so useless, mesmer secondary is the best" i just politely reply that everyone has their own preference and i'm entitled to mine.
there were also various other 'noob' things about me that they kept going on about, such as the fact i sometimes take mark of rodgort and that i take a res everywhere i go.
so, party is finished, we go in and find that the third ele is casting firestorm at the wrong mobs (ie ones that the rest of us are meteor showering rather than the ones raping us in the back) and so the jerk yells out that we have a noob ele which i thought was a bit extreme.
then the next thing they say to me, pisses me off further:
jerk: how many times have you done this
me: 3 times on my monk, first for my ele
jerk: omg! i knew it, you're a noob
-.-;; though i have to give them some credit for insulting me in whispers rather than team/local chat i guess

This is not a single person but groups. 1)The ones who insist that GW is ALL about pvp and nothing else matters, and if you want to pve you should go play wow. 2) The ones who keep going on about raiseing the lvl cap.

Nah, it will end up being reversed...New players will end up calling experienced players 'noobs', to make themselves appear more experienced - you'll be able to tell a true 'noob' since he will be calling everyone else a 'noob'. Then you'll get the GW veterans, who remember the 'good old days' when new players got called 'noobs' and they just had to accept it, and they will have to find another way to put down all the new players and make them all sound small and stupid! ...and the cycle will begin again...
