Runes only work on armor. You can't upgrade shields. You need a weapon upgrade (grip, haft, etc.) to add to your weapons.

You have to be in a guild to have a cape. It is equipped automatically and never comes off.

That looks much better. My personal preference would be to see the top look a bit more like the "manbra" everyone was complaining about on...

I'm not sure, but have you tried "Dead Bow of Shelter" or "Dead" AND "Bow"? Bow might fall under that too short...
