Lightning is most frequently used in the last few missions (read: 2 or 3 missions). Other than that the overwhelming majority is fire in PvE.

Any person can join a group to farm. All that really matters is your pt configuration and skill choice. Solo farming, can't be done, really....

To have it appear on PB the correct size, change the resolution quality when you save the pic. I use JPG setting at 80% compression/resolution...

Just as light can't be black, I don't believe chaos axes can dye that color. Would be cool tho.

I wouldn't put it past Anet to have coded item drops differently for different serial keys, to promote trade or engaging in other nonfarming...
