Sounds like its working well to me. People want favor so they are trying to get it. If there was no bonus to having favor then people wouldn't...

I like the first one a lot more.. the second one looks like wind is blowing it around but since it doesn't move it looks very, very odd to me....

My oldest character deserves FoW finally but my Dervish is the youngest so gets spoiled with it first.
