Painful bond builds and spirit spam are one thing, actually using the pathetic spells in communing is another.
It actually does prevent a surprising amount of damage against high level enemies, since with higher level and attribute scores comes higher crit...
Aw, crap, I lose. Yeah, in that case you're stuck with SoS or (god help you) spirit channeling. Pure was li ming is a no-go in that case too....
