The Biggest Jerk You Ever Encountered in GW (no posting names)

Just finished the turtle quest in faction with only a monk to heal and my poor abused ritualist ranger doing some backup healing and generally killing myself using Flesh of my Flesh when my party died under the relentless kurzick assault on the seige tanks.. errr. turtles.

God knows we couldnt have gone through with the mission without the monk but here i was quietly selling my loot to the merchant and the monk goes in and pulls the noob insult thing on me.

I told him.. yeah monk. I'd respect you if you deserve it. And the way your acting right now deserves no respect at all.

hehehe I actually did this once but it was because I had gotten new armor and only half of it was infused and frankly I had just forgot lol. Luckily it was with my guildies and so along with my husband going on about how newb I was and so forth and LF REAL WARRIOR! They carried me through most of the first mission in the RoF area and once I was infused I rocked =P (not in an elitest way but I didn't die anymore either lol).

But I really have seen W/X run in and just get way to much agro and we are shouting at him to move his rump and then yelling OMG DONT MOVE JUST DIE and he runs the mob back to us ;_;
It happens in our own guild as much as it happens anywhere else. Sometimes crap happens and sometimes no matter how good of a warrior you are you cannot hold agro.

For me it was W/N in the crystal desert, he was cussing out some guy because his toon was dark skined, and that only crackers have dark skined characters.......... ( Cracker.... thats like from "good times" back in the 1960 ) it cracked me up so i typed "Dynomite" ........... and al hell broke loose. the guy or girl must have had a minor in typing, it looked like a printer. There were many many very offensive things but it was so much in such a short time spand that it was actually funny. the one that hit a high note as a burn ( but not personally) was a coment about necrophiliac activity with my grand mother...... something about midgets and my sisters rectum.... but then the tide changed and 3/4 of the rest of us started busting on him, then he left, some 2-3 minutes later someone found him in LA and messaged and we were chasing him around for some 10 min, people even placed rewards for poeple to have him fail missions.......... thAT WAS FUN

The biggest jerk I have ever met in game was only a short time ago in the Random Arenas. Our team consisted of myself (an elementalist), a warrior (the jerk), a ranger (innocent bystander), and a monk (the abused victim of jerk). We won our first match, but the warrior apparently wasn't pleased with the monk's skills (even though I thought he did an alright job ... not perfect, but serviceable for RA). So the warrior began to mock and intimidate the monk until (shockingly) the monk left. We zoned into the next match, and a level 18 assassin joined our team. Mr. Perfect Warrior decided that level 18s shouldn't play (in the ragga fraggin random arena!) so he began to tell our assassin: "N00b, you shouldn't be here. Go back to Lion's Arch .... or somesuch. The Assy, stunned and p'oed, decided to tell the warrior where to shove it. In response, the warrior decided he would just sit still and not do anything. (Double Jerk). So it became a three vs. four match, even though he just sat there and did nothing, laughing all the while at the assassin to make his "point". Surprisingly, we did almost as well w/o the warrior as we would have with him I imagine (we killed two of theirs before we were taken out). The warrior just kept laughing, saying stuff like "you see what happens?" Yeah, I see what happens. Jerks lose games.

Wow..This just happened to me.

Anyways, im sitting in yaks bend and theres one guy advertising for a run to beacons which i needed for 1k. That was a bit expensive but whatever, the district was almost empty and that was the only runner i see advertising. I then join the group and find out that they were "dual-running" this. We then agreed that each runner gets an even slip of the 1k they were chargine. After like 20 minutes of them advertising for more players which they fail to (thankfully) we take off. Kinda funny haha anyways its a monk and ranger. Lets call the ranger Arch and the Monk Mental. The run starts out fine but VERY SLOW and anyways, we reach Anvil Rock. Mental starts demanding me to pay him, so i gave him his 500g. Arch said I was suppose to pay at Ice Caves but ohh well. In the next area, mental demands me to pay again. And keeps shouting 1k each 1k each!!! I just said look no, we agreed 500g each and thats all your getting. And so i tell his partner about it. Arch says Mental is a bit mental, doctor said to keep him happy and will you tip me? I said no, in fact i want my money back, the monk isnt even doing anything and demands me to pay him another 1k! And i just said it was very slow and hes unreasonable. And then Arch starts going look, i like mental better than i like you, so shut the RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO up and stop dissing him. Did i ever diss mental? This just makes me VERY pissed off And no, i never called Mental anything bad or bitched at any of them, i just said that he was being unreasonable. I had to put up with all the waiting and now all that crap. They even demanded to be tipped when we arrived!

You are not the only person to do this but i think it is funny that people feel the need to justify how much they do or dont play online games when insulted with it by someone ON an ONLINE game. You know what....I wish I could actually play gw MORE. I hate the fact that i have to go to work or do crap around my house. I like playing GW and I would play it all day if i could. So the next time someone tells you you are a loser for being online too much point out where they are currently at!...and just be happy that you have something that you enjoy doing!

I decided to have some easy fun and offer the services of my lvl 20 warrior to noobs at the northern gate mission for 500gp or something like that. Anyways, I met this guy who is more of an idiot rather than a jerk who said he would take the deal. So I partied up with him and ran him through the mission. After we got back I asked him to pay his 500gp. He asked me what was I talking about and he said he thought I was going to pay him!!! Why the heck would I pay you to let me run you through the mission???!!! What a moron... I just had to tell someone. There are a lot of stupid people in this game...

I play GW all too much, in the opinion of a 'normal everyday person' (according to my mom). And I know I'm on the computer way too much, but I enjoy it, and it's one of the only things I enjoy doing besides playing guitar, skating and seeing my gf when I can.
I often find myself laughing because that stupid timer pops up in the bottom corner "You have been playing for 10 hours. Please take a break."

Once I'm in I'm in. If I'm doing missions, I don't stop until I can't take anymore.
That's just how I am ... the only thing that pisses me off about loving it so much is having bad sleeping habits and becoming an even more bitter person because of all the idiot jerks I have to witness in that 10 hours.

For example, I was playing my ranger the other day, and was in Shing Jea Monastary because I 'hang out' there before doing missions, like many other people, and the first thign I see when I get there are 3 people sync dancingw with their CE 'spirit dances'. So I go over to stand to watch them cuz I find syncing amusing, and randomly this one starts going "Ranger you a nub." And I'm like ... uh, sure whatever? And he continues, proclaiming I'm 'gay' and a 'nub' yet, all I'm doing is standing there watching, not to mention I'm 5 levels higher than he was, which show's nothing in terms of skill, but nonetheless. I switch districts.

In the next district, the first thing I read is someone being an asshole, for no reason, just taking every comment someone says and throwing it in their face. Then 2 or more people started getting in on it and completely insulting people for no reason whatsoever.

I cannot STAND this.
There's no need for people to be selfless *ssholes for no reason at all.
It makes me love that saying that will not be quoted.
It's rude in regards to disabled people, but it's true, E-fights are so ridiculous and pointless.

I get so frustrated that I try to lash out, but, being in an online MMO, I realise the extent of my anger can only be thrown at the culprit with an /point emote.

Like when an ACTUAL noob, someone who just played the game for their first time, asks a simple question like "What are monestary credits for?" and absolutely everyone in the server flips out on them. I cannot stand that. Just answer politely and move on.

Hey I am not a newb (well sorta I got to do the extended headstart bit) but I am still waiting on my CE (which my husband just went to get) and I don't know what the monostary credits are for =P Mind clueing my newbie butt in? (I also stopped playing in the lower lvl areas till I could get my CE.)

I just don't understand why people get such a kick out of hurting someone else. I mean there was an MM who abandoned us in Thirsty after we got our cap and my husband messaged him and asked if he was some 12yr.

The guy responded: no I am 33 with a degree in business. My husband responded: Well then as a fellow in the same field you must have learned in college that time is money and you were attempting to waste what little time I get to spend with my wife.

It just annoys me. I usually bend over backwards to help new people. Heck I was practically bankrupt my first time through because I didn't want newbs to get crapped on like I did - so I spent a lot of time giving away items or money or runes.

The saddest newb I found was one that thought Glint was the last boss in the game >_< And even after trying to correct him he still said I was newb and wrong... >_<

In the newb thread there are a few people talking about common mistakes newbs make but acting like its the do all end all or something. I agree seeing 3 wammos next to an ether seal is pretty noobish, heck I know how to solo one but 3 couldn't take it down o_O;;;

While you're laughing at them, everyone is laughing and pointing at you. Maybe instead of worrying about what other people have and do you should maybe concentrate on spelling correctly and using proper grammer.

What has that got to do with the game? No one wants to hear about your love life.

Personally I am not sure why no one has notified GW about her IGN yet o_O I mean how smart is it to post things that would most likely get you either banned from GW or at least temporarily restricted.... And she or it or he.. or whatever wants to flame others and call them noobs... (real smart, lol).
See what Melissa is HOT basically said is that she loves to harrass people and be utterly cruel ingame - not totally certain but I think that is against the EULA o_O See flaming on this board can get you banned and while others do it, they typically don't mean it as a way of harrassing or being mean.

The easiest solution is to be an ass back if they find it so funny. After 1 lengthly arguement with some idiot in FoW once it ended with:

"What if i find insulting people fun?"

Then right after i said that the idiot left Randomly shouting insults at people just because they try things is just stupid. Depending on where you are anyway, RA/TA i couldn't care less what build you use aslong as you actually do something. FoW/UW is different, specially if you bring skills that together have no use at all. I was once in FoW (B/P team) and the monk just used Mending on everyone (basically he played a bonder w/ Mending) and would occasionally cast Healing Breeze on people. Then when people died he'd use Unyielding Aura.... at the end of the battle, cancel it straight away and use Rebirth... then cancel that and use Restore Life... I mean theres nothing wrong with trying new builds, but you should at least use some logic in it. The odd thing is we made it to the book area too, and got killed because we couldn't out-damage the dragon and shadows (someone took the quest). I didn't start randomly insulting him though.

I can't think of a "biggest jerk" moment, but one time that sticks up is when I was selling a superior vigor back in the day for 60k, and someone told me they'd buy it. We set up the trade, I put in the superior vigor, he puts in 60 gold, I didn't notice, and I got screwed. I know that's truly my fault, but I hate knowing that there are people out there that just screw you over when you've spent long hours farming and don't even think twice about it =(

I got him banned btw ^_^ At least, his account doesn't exist anymore, so I'm assuming he was banned.

Not the biggest jerk, just a bunch of little jerks. Im trying to unload bunch of greens for a cheap price but they have to go as a lot. I have in bold letters that buyer must take all. Of course the jerks that come looking only want the Victos Axe and complain at me not so nicely when I say it is buyer take all.

Earlier this week I was trying to unload some perfect mods in Ascalon and some jerk starts telling me I am stupid for trying to sell things "at the beginning. No one has money here." His ranting earned a spot on my ignore list.

More trade jerks: Me asking for offers on a max dmg req 9 divine Celestial Scepter with E+5>50. Jerk say "100g, thats all its worth." Same thing when selling a Celestial Sword with +30 health, another jerk telling me its only worth 10k because "Everyone gets perfect items now. No one will offer you more then this." Riiiight....

K here's a jerk story I have that just happened to me right now actually. So I was in Kaineng Dis1 trying to trade or sell my mini pet Fungal Wallow. This guy says in trade screen that he's selling his Kirin and asks people to send him an offer. So I figure I'd just offer my Fungal Wallow expecting him to say no lol. But he says he really wanted one so I go ok we'll trade. I type in his name and enter him into my party and hit the trade button with him. I offer my pet and he offers his and then suddenly cancels. Then he goes on to call me a noob and all the usual stuff. So I ignore him and tell him somewhat politely that he could've just said no and didn't have to be a jerk about the whole thing.

sadly enough you notice how most of the jerks have a go at you for simply playing the game, like they say you have no life... what kinding of f******* life is screaming at online players >_<

Say to him, "You wouldn't happen to have a Celestial Sword would you? I'll buy it off you at your price."

Mkay, nice one here: We had a party of 5 guildies for the Riverside Province mission. It was quite late at night, and we were going to try the mission and bonus before we went off to bed. One player short, we invited a random, a cutesy female warrior. Doing Mission and Bonus? That was allright with her...

We went along, merrily killing off the towers, when 2 towers from the end she rushes off towards the boss at the end and starts attacking him. Leaving us without our tank, and endangering the bonus and mission.

Our team-leader called out to her to get back, but she didn't. Didn't even answer. Just kept at it, and slowly getting killed. Our teamleader kept telling her to get back, but she just wouldn't. We were kinday occupied, so we couldn't even divert to heal her, so in the end she died.

So, we finish off the tower we were working on, and during the lull in the fighting started to ask her WTF she was thinking of? Didn't she want the mission? No answer. So we finally promised to rez her if she would only explain herself, and then we would get on with the mission. Still no answer.

No explanation, nothing. Not even when we when we kept asking while we finished the last tower. Suddenly there is an answer; "Yo noobs, I'll just wait here and collect on the bonus and mission anyways."...

So we started to farm the area, killing everything in sight except the boss. A few hours later the entire map was totally devoid of life, and by that time she had left on her own. Friggin' leech spoilers....

The biggest jerk I ever met in GW scammed me for 40k. Now some of you might not find that all that much, but I just found a Bortak's Bone Cesta en reached 100k+ for the first time in my GW life. So I was pretty happy and started to look for things I could buy. Since I had enough money now.

I saw some guy offering some nice items.(Victo's Bulwark, Sup Absorbtion, Purple Crystaline etc.) for very low prices. So i replied that I would liked to buy his Sup Absorb wich he was selling for only 40k. So we got to storage and tried to trade. The trade screen got canceled again and again, so I thought it must be a bug or something. I said I'd reconnect and try again. But ofcourse after all those tried I wasn't paying attention anymore to what he was selling and he switched it for a Sup Hammer Mastery.

I know it was stupid of me and it is a common scam.(I know now) But it still sucks! I had a really hard time not to call him all sorts of things, but I do advertise through PM to him once in a while: "WTS Rune of Sup Hammer Mastery - 40k! Your chance to clear your conscience!" But for some reason he never replies.

I encountered my 2nd but worst jerk so far tonight doing the Captured Son quest on my 2nd canthan character (mesmer)...It starts off ok but the leader may not have known much about the quest, no biggie. Well an assassin starts to lead everyone to a certain area. Then someone draws on the map to go to another location and everyone does. He starts yelling how we're all stupid and noobs, etc etc...all because people followed what someone drew on the map!

We go to the beach to kill the crimson mobs and he suicides and pulls the mobs into us hoping to kill us but doesn't and then he ragequits. So I PM him and ask why did he do that? Here's the brief conversation:

Me: WTF...why did you do that then leave?
Him: You're all idiots, you can't follow directions or you'd be done by now (mind you, it's 10 minutes into this quest and nowhere near over).
Me: You say we all are as if the entire group is at fault or is bad at the game.
Me: This group isn't so bad, it's better than 99% of the PUGs trying this quest.
Him: I have no idea what you just said so w/e
Me: So how much GW knowledge do you have if you don't know what PUG is?
Him: I've been playing for 6 months noob
Me: 1 year here...in fact I just got my minipet as a gift from anet
Him: Well that's because you have no life

o_O Few hours? I can solo riverside with my ele with no + armor spells. You said before going to bed you wanted the miss + bonus... but you still had "gew hours" to wipe everything?

Otherwise, he was a jerk.

I was part of a PUG doing Hell's Precipice mission (?) near the end of Prophecies campaign. It was the one where the titans spawn in a lava pit, and has portals guarded by wraiths.

The group was doing really well luring out a couple of monsters at a time and picking them off. As soon as the titan with the skill one player wanted died, one player decides that was all he came for and then proceeds to draw every single foe that he can on the map towards our group whilst laughing all and taunting us.

Eventually most of the group fell, when a couple of players had run away a bit to regen and res, he proceeded to lure more monsters back to those players also.

First let me say...

So, I was in a pug, none of my guildies were online, it was weird hours like 9am where I am, dunno why i was on really. Anywho... our teamwork was quite good for the first part of the mission. There was a W/mo who had fissure armor, i made the assumption that he has more experience playing a W/mo, being the character I was on was my own warrior, who i started in cantha, and first time i played the warrior class. Im a fan of the necro and monk. So i ask him if he can call targets, cause im not that good at it yet. Still learning some ins and outs of playing a warrior... Now it starts to get good. He doesnt respond, but starts calling targets. Doing a nice job too. We get to the final part, where u have to get the Kurzick chick to the door and defend her from all those stone rains, and the big warrior boss. Well he just runs in, then starts running all over, and aggros some Oni from the back left o the room. We manage to kill all the mobs, BUT NOW the kurzick chick is in the back of the room, no mobs left, and she is still doing the Blood of zu heltzer to open the door! SHE WONT MOVE CLOSER ON HER OWN. Shes supposed to open it while there are mobs still there, and u gotta protect her. It is a BITCH otherwise, cause u have to try and have necros sac life and what not to get her closer to heal. Well, I didnt know this at the time, i messeged some guildies and told them the situation, they told me what i had to do. i told the group hang on, bare with me im getting some info on this. few minutes go by and finally a guildie tells me we have to pull a mob of wardens from another room, close to the door, so she comes closer to heal. so i tell the group this. What does the jerk do... runs up the hill and aggros the dredge, they come down and kill danika. 1 hour wasted. begin attempt 4 at the mission. thank you.

I just had the greatest experience in any game, evar. EVAR.

Doing Mayhem in the market, so I go to Marketplace and go LFP. We get 4 guys, got bored of waiting, and take 4 hench. I was restoration rit, and our only other healer is sister tai (lol).

Of the four players, one was a sin, one was a 15 mesmer, and the other is the jerk. A Warrior if it helps.

Basically, he states that he wants to do the undercity part. Everyone else in the party hasnt even begun the quest, so we ask him if he can help with the wajjun bazaar part. He agrees so off we go. After a bit of fighting in wajjun, he leads us into undercity. In fact, I didn't know wtf happened until suddenly the Undercity loading screen popped up.

There were lots of wtf?s, but he assures us that the quest can be completed by talking to the people in the undercity. So, ok we believe him and we go. Lots of fighting, and I was doing my job rather well so no human player died (cant say that for silly henches). During this, he was starting to show his jerk side. Mainly, ordering us about, calling people idiots when they don't immediately do what he says (like LURE, BACK, HEAL and rubbish). Everyone was mildly pissed with him, but well it was alright. We reached Jinzo and Togo, and they don't say anything about the quest. Hmm. He makes some excuse, and I say ok just get us to vizunah or something. So alright. Continued fighting, we did well (he even said so), and in the process pissed me off. He called me a dummy when I died, and when I said I at least deserved some gratitude for keeping the party alive all the way, he made a sarcastic comment ("I forgot bout that"), and made fun of my name (Ariel moonriver, he called me arrow maker).

That was kind of the last straw for me, and the other 2 people in the group whispers me that theyve had enough of the jerk. So I start dancing. The group heads into the next fight, and all of them die.

I pissed the jerk off as much as I could "The arrow maker is tired, the arrow maker doesn't dare to fight" and stuff like that. After like 5 minutes of him begging, I rezzed Sister Tai.

Then I repeated the process. The group dies again. So I make him beg to rez tai. Then I leave them alone in a fight again. Repeat. In the end the other 3 human players ran out of the fight and left him and hench dead. We all started dancing. He cursed at us and quit.

Some may say I'm being the jerk. Well, he pissed everyone off, and everyone in the group agreed. After he left, we congratulated each other lol. That felt real good Oh, and this is what being the only functional healer in a party can do

Somehow jerks seem attracted to the "Ruins of Surmia" mission like bees to honey, or flies to s.th. else...

First story happened to my Warri at about lvl 10 or so. Jerk is the lowest ~6-7, an ele/mo I think. First player drops at mission's start. The ele is way to cheeky for his survival abilities; when he dies the 2nd time (before we reach the prisoners) the second player leaves without a word. A wise decision...
My res sig is already used, so I ask him if he wants to carry on, which he affirms. I go ahead to kill the first boss for morale boost and res him. Needless to say that while he slows down some on my request, he still gets killed here and there, being too aggressive. Unlucky for me there are some bosses on the way, so I res him again.
Then we reach the bonus, and the moment the flame bearers cross the river he attacks them and pulls them to me... Funny thing is, we both survive as he keeps fighting, though just barely. When I sit down, look at him and ask why he did this, he goes "Oh, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I thought we wouldn't make it anyway..." - after I asked him if he wants to carry on...
I just shake my head (out of game^^) and say "well, you got to get that steam out of your system..." and log out to read a book. Nerd.
Did it with henchies the day after...

Second is fresh with my necro 11, a MM. With me a PUG of mesmer 10, ranger 13 (noob), ranger 17 (jerk). With the minions we race through the mission really fast, my companions provide bodies if need be, noob dies once. Until we reach the bonus. I ask if everybody knows this, where r13 says no. I explain "don't attack, just follow the bearers". No sooner said, r17 rushes forward with r13 in tow and attacks and kills them.
Naturally no reaction when we ask why. Ok, we shrug off the bonus. So mesmer and I advance to open the gate, while both rangers get lost (rofl) although we draw directions on the mini map. Waiting for them we ponder what it is with these rangers - can they only read the wind, but neither texts nor maps? My companion insists they're just plain stupid. Finally r13 turns up embarrassed, while r17 goes back to rurik to wait for the gate being opened... Yeah.
Then comes the plum. When we free the magicians they follow r17, and instead of leading them to the obelisks he just stands in a corner near the gate and stops reacting. Luckily I still had 3-4 minions at the time, so with rather high levels and minions we fend the attack off. Still jerk would have ruined another groups mission and bonus both...

Some guy attempted to scam me yesterday. I was selling (or attempting to sell) the Exalted Aegis shield but unfortunately most people were more concerned with seing its stats

Anyway some guy came up to me and asked how much I wanted for it. After checking the GW Guru auction prices I said 100k. So I put the item in the trade window and did submit offer. Then he submitted the offer without putting money in, hoping that I would be in a rush and accept, but I cancelled.

Then words similar to this were said:

Him: can i try it on? see what it looks like
Me: Your trying to con me eh, how lame
Him: XD

Anyone who doesn't say thank you when given something for free. For example, you're out with a group, something nice drops for you but you're not the right profession for it, someone in the group asks you for it, you give it to them, and they don't even say thank you. People need to learn some manners.

Maybe as some people know, I'm a fanatic ''I Will Avenge you'' player (Iway).
I really hate it when we win a random Underworld or Broken Tower (Stage 1 and 3) map and we are getting called name. Like OMG STUPIDIWAYNOOB and other things like OMG ATLEAST WE PLAY A REAL F$CKING BUILD. People even whisper me after the game.

When I was in MATH (The good ol days ) people whisping me and say: Hey, who is the leader of MATH? I was in MATH when it formed. Or things like Hey, my friend made MATH can I join? Also people say they were in MATH, when I take a glimpse at their rank and it is 4 ( or something else lower then 8) I say that can't be true. You probably know the shit what happens then ..

Ha ha that is so true. They would probably run and hide under their mommies dresses when confronted in real life. But behind a keyboard, they are tough guys. If people think a question is a noob question, then just dont answer it. No reason to berate someone who just needs a little help. Maybe they act this way because they are getting their asses kicked in school all day, and are looking for someone to vent on.

We were just doing The Dragon's Lair.

Upon killing one of the Dragons, it droped a golden Longbow for me, as I was a bit far away, I ran toward to the drop, but some rather low valued person ran through the portal, in which, teleoprted us to the next area, and I was unable to get the longbow.

I can only hope the same would happen to the same person.

Don't you get a chance to accept unclaimed items in a situation like that?
