I was in HA just standing around seeing what people are looking for so I can try to make that type of character and get some practice with it. And some guys says
"Rank 9 Iway looking for 1 more Warrior we dont care about rank, we are all rank 9 and want to go"
So I thought WOW these guys are pretty cool I have never seen anyone take a non-ranked person into a group, I wish there were more people like this group.

Most my favorite cast weapons r 1 or 2 below max.... cause as u put it, casting speed, reset speed, eng r way more important then a few dmg...
but now seeing as how easy it is to get a "perfect" i would expect the max dmg at the same time, and a staff for 80k, wow, must be a nice one.... havent seen one like that in atleast 4 months...

I'm a serious staff collector, anyone who knows me in GW, or in the trading community, knows why I buy staffs and it's not really for usage, so much as something I will keep around a bit, and resell eventually. This has absolutely -zero- resale value, at this point, so I am forced to keep it, and customize it, because really, who wants to pay 80k for a 10/10 staff 1 point from max?

I've been playing a Ranger lately because I got a really really nice bow drop on my Monk and thought, "It's not perfect, but it's awfully close. I'll just use it."
Henching most of the early story missions is pretty easy and the damage off my new bow made me a crazy death-dealer so I figured I'd watch general for people who couldn't find teams and help them out. After all, I needed the missions too.
I got into Surmia and snagged another Ranger who was looking. We picked up Alesia and headed out.
We're having general chit-chat while we play, talking about skills and showing each other our bows and how often we play when I make a comment about my kids governing my playtime. Suddenly he asks if I'm a MILF.
I get quiet for a sec and he goes, "I'd ask how old you are but that'd be rude."
I responded with, "But the MILF comment was just you being polite, right?" or something to that effect. I later had to explain that my studded leather was only a virtual miniskirt.

but other than that it kinda pisses me off when im tring to go in HA and ppl are just rejeting me on my rank(witch is 0 btw) when i know im acompetent player and the pug groups never work and i cant attain rank if i never get into a good group and my guild ,although good, is kinda small so guild bouts are out of the question wtf can i do?

now th only pvp my guild does is allienc battles, but im not sure if we get fame from there or only factions

So I (Monk) was helping a guildie (Ranger) get a cap in Elora and we decided to join a party and help them do the mission as well.
After getting past the 1st cut scene the warrior suddenly decides he's going to run it off he goes, aggro's just about everything makes a wrong turn aggro's more. Then he starts screaming at me to heal him and of course I'm nowhere near him. Finally catch up to him and the rest of the group he of course is dead by then and the others are trying to kill what he's dragged. I heal them he spams me to rez his sorry butt (He adds a few insults as well) but of course I'm busy keeping everyone else alive. Finally kill the mobs and rez him. He starts swearing at me like you wouldn't believe naturally I'm not going to take that. Put him on my ignore list and the guildie I'm with and myself leave, I hope the others in party did the same.

I read it before I typed it yes, and I know it was a n00b telling so, but if you say, I always hate it when people try to tell me what skills to take, I consider that as more than only that time, more like everytime someone does that, even when it's in the profit of the team, and I personally ahte the people who aren't willing to change their build for the sake of the team.

The following is a PVE only comment, do not take this as PVP:
I have to admit that I automatically leave any PUG if the leader wants me to change to their pet build. I’m more than happy to bring a specific skill if the mission relies on it, but to assume that you know so much better than someone else that you feel the need to change all their skills. That kind of arrogance I can do without in a leader.
Maybe that makes me a jerk, but I find teams that have overbearing leaders tend to lose.
For instance, I play a N/Mo a lot at the moment, he is a quite accomplished MM without using any monk skills. That is only my secondary because I like to use the monk resurrect due to it’s unlimited applications.
I have a 16 in Death and tend to raise a motley band of Fiends, Horrors & Minions. I use BoTM as a heal & have a 13 in Blood as a secondary for Life Siphon/Well of Blood to keep myself & others alive in a desperate situation. The rest of my points are in soul reaping to keep my energy levels up.
I find this is more than adequate for any mission where exploitable corpses are available. (I have a Blood/Curse build for missions where corpses tend to be in short supply).
So tell me why I should change my skill set just because someone tells me they know better?

I want a rich world I can feel a sense of belief in, and I want a plot and story around my character and his/her life. The 'game' of advancing and winning challenges has little value for me.
I look at what a character has on them and personally figure I should just take it for what it is. Rather than 'min-max' the builds of a team, get 4-6 characters together and work with what you've got - features and failings all.
Not so much PvE or PvP as it is PinE.
I know you can unlearn one skill to learn another, but to me it feels 'simulation-wise' wrong. I don't know anyone in real life who unlearns A to gain B - so I feel odd letting my character get away with it even if (s)he can according to the game rules. While it is good 'gamism' to min-max a group's builds, it is bad 'PinE' - and the 'PinE' is where I get my enjoyment.

I used to get stuff like this all the time at table top RPGs in my teens whenever I dared a female PC... I've got some really strange stories from those days... the kind that would make you glad you have the screen of 'virtualism' to be able to avoid them with... You just have to wonder with some people.

Biggest jerk I have ever met - a monk in The Deep. Thought he was the lurd as he was the only free monk. Our group were the 'chosen' and had him with us. So after yelling at the two w/m he announced he wasnt healing either of us as he was above that kind of healing... I asked in a petty childish way if he did sexual healing (great song) and I got called a RED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GORED ENGINE GO of satan and other pleasant things; I got him on ignore but y'know some people....just can't deal with a decent song...
Serious point Anet - we need a bigger friends/foes list.... I have re-edited this list over and over but people that deserve striking from a list shouldnt be allowed the luxury of thinking in a week or two they will be free to do it all again......

i got a similar story.
a while ago we were in THK, found by a miracle 2 monks that actually joined a PUG. when we got to the keep, they all of a sudden said that if EACH player will not give them 1k they will not heal and will just stand there and wach us die. we were sure they joking, but they actually stoped healing. i didnt care about 1k and was to pay half half with my guildie for entire group (so long ago i was rich... good times) cuz i was greedy for time wasted, but we had like 2 guys who rage-quit, so we just restarted...

My wife and I were taking our Canthan characters through Tyria yesterday and picked up an ele an a necro at Sanctum, the necro was only lv 15 which is kinda low in Sanctum (real players ofc, not runners only) but hey, what the hell, we had 4 lv 20 Canthan's with us so we figured he wasnt going to be too much of a liability.
So, we do Sanctum Cay with bonus and the little necro does fine, when we get to the desert he kinda begs us to run him to Augury, I reply that I'm not a runner but that he can tag along (ie, fight our way through).
When we get outside he seems to think we're going to run him so we quickly tell him to pull his weight and, to his credit he does.
We get to Augury and from there I can run it to the missions so I tell the ele and necro (who's very grateful) that we'll run them to the missions if they want to stay.
Fast forward to Dunes of Despair, we've picked up 2 peeps and we're doing the mission when one of the new ones decides to have a go at our necro because he wasnt making bone fiends but minions.
When he fails to get a rise out of him or the rest of us he starts with the 'yu noob dont even have bone minions' line, at which point we tell him that as far as we are concerned the necro pulled his weight and is trying his best. Not everyone has uberskills or knows where to get them, after all. We basically tell the 'abuser' to STFU as the timer counts down to 0, aced the mission.
So, we are back at Augury and the abusive idiot really expects that we'll let him stay in the party for the other two missions, I dont think so.
Kicked him out, ran the group to the other two mission and did them without a death and the bonus on both
In short, what goes around comes around, hehe.

Well, nothing too special, but during a mission,a necromancer goes 'afk'. Ok, so we'll just play without him. Sure, it happens often, the problem was, he was following us, never casting or attacking and just picked up items. Eventually, the party falls due to improper aggro and the necromancer is alone. Waiting for a ressurection from the Necromancer, he just leaves the party instantly.

Boss couldn't kill Aidan. Aidan couldn't kill boss. Danika stood there and did nothing but throw a Jamei's Gaze at Aidan from time to time. I fired up the PS2 and played for a good half hour while this comedy played out. Aidan wouldn't burn his sig on me because Danika was alive. Danika wouldn't rez me because she's a <insert expletive here>. I finally just zoned. Jerk.

If you're talking about stupid henches, I got one to tell. This one time at the end of the quest, I died and the healer died quite a bit far away from the group.
So the henchies finished off the remianing enemies and all I had to do is talk to the guy there. The only henchie that can rez is the spirit hench but he decided to run all the way to the healer hench. When he got there, enemies popped up so he decided to run back to us. On his run back, the enemies dissapeared so he ran back to the healer, the enemies popped up again and he decided to run back to us.... Well, u get the idea.. on and on, the spirit henchman just ran around in circles!
I had to redo this mission! (ARF!)

It was me and 7 henchies. The only ones left alive were Aidan and Danika. Danika was standing on my corpse. Aidan was trying to kill the one remaining monster, an ele mantis boss (the one with Gust). Boss couldn't kill Aidan. Aidan couldn't kill boss. Danika stood there and did nothing but throw a Jamei's Gaze at Aidan from time to time. I fired up the PS2 and played for a good half hour while this comedy played out. Aidan wouldn't burn his sig on me because Danika was alive. Danika wouldn't rez me because she's a <insert expletive here>. I finally just zoned. Jerk. |

Luckily I haven't run into many jerks but the most annoying person I have met was a warrior advertising a perfect fiery dragon sword in ascalon. I whisper him to see it (I was still using one at the time) so I look at in trade. Basically it was a max damage fiery dragon sword (I think it was clean). I told him that it wasn't perfect just max damage so he basically started calling me a noob???
Another one was when I was going from city to city trying to sell some junk including dyes. So when I get to ToPK I start advertising my stuff. Some random jerk suddenly tells me to take the dyes and shove them up my ass. I ask him what his problem was but he basically starts flaming me so I ignore him.

A few days ago saw a jerk/scammer in presearing selling devourer eggs (or trying to) for 500g claiming that they were used to grow your very own mini pet devourer...sheesh...
Last night was in Jade Quarry waiting to get in, and a Rit pops in and we're all talking about random stuff and he comments that he was surprised that the assassins (me and another) had actually made it this far in the game. Well the other had help from guildmates, to which he said "well no wonder you made it this far then." Didn't respond when I told him I had henched the entire game up to that point though...
Lol had one of the henchies be a jerk (if that's even really possible)....fighting my way to Grotto to get my 15k necro armor, and get over run by ice imps...doing ok...then notice there is less healing than usual and soon we're all dead...but no res count is coming up...Lina was still alive and had run away from our party...I still don't know where the heck she was heading, but it wasn't towards any of us, completely off the radar too...lol just flat out running away, least till she ran right into another mob of imps...lol stupid hench

lol, I still have a devourer egg but I'm saving it for the last mission to throw at the titans.
I remember being told in pre searing that dropping money and gold items scared off enemies... suffice to say I didn't believe them.

I used to get stuff like this all the time at table top RPGs in my teens whenever I dared a female PC... I've got some really strange stories from those days... the kind that would make you glad you have the screen of 'virtualism' to be able to avoid them with... Jerk story of the day: Getting a masters group together for the Sunjian(spelling) mission, the one with the 4 construct bosses at the end. People seemed really confused from the start, like they weren't sure which direction to go. Someone decided to go afk during the middle of a fight, then come back and say they were sorry they were filling out a college application. What the heck!!!! I mean it was advertised as a bonus group!
I have no problem with people wanting to watch cutscenes, but I am pretty sure that they are counted in the timer! I may be wrong, and if I am it sucks that I yelled at them for not skipping. I want to know the story too. We were advertising with the need for haste though, since it was said over and over that it was a bonus group. That people needed to skip the cutscenes and all that.
It was just completely disorganized despite all preperation to the contrary. Everything went out the window the second the mission loaded. It was a complete waste of time for me.

I just meet the one single, most anoying person ever: I was doing Tahnnakai- Temple, 3 Swords, with a nice PUG. Well nice except this W/mo, who would always call... that's not bad, you say? Well he would call everything at least 3 times jumping targets at random. If he got blinded, he would ping that, till the condition was removed, over 2 sites. After we finished a mob, he would ping the door, till everyone stood bevor it. He never reacted to my insiting he'd stop it. I put him on ignore after the 7th boss. Really, he was just too anoying, but we managed the mission fast, I guess everyone just wanted to get away from him.
