The Biggest Jerk You Ever Encountered in GW (no posting names)

Personally, I think monks should see BR as a luxury, not a prerequisite. It's a want, not a need. Monks should have their own energy management, the BR may come in handy in a pinch, but don't rely on the necro for energy all the time. If you do, that just means you're not a very good monk.

I don't think Markaedw was saying every monk needs a necro for BR/BiP.

They were saying that IF Rebirth is necessary mid-battle, a necro who can recover energy quickly via Soul Reaping is the more appropriate profession to cast it, than a monk with NO quick way to regen energy, and who is needed to heal the rest of the party in the meantime.

try having it on ur 60th in a row, and they r on 2nd in a row, 2 ppl left both war/mos no adrenaline cause it gets turned off after so long... all came down to they won cause superior absorb, sup vigor, our guy had sup absorb and major vigor.... no other major or sup runes, and 45 hp on shield, and our guy had 30 always shield.... back when runes were like crazy expensive... ya, we were so pissed...

I hate to say this but, why should he fold. If you don't have an anti runner you should lose whether is is your second or 20th win.

we did, the surviving member was a ranger with cripple, he would cripple and run a bit back to make damage, thats what the warrior was complaining about.

I had a Shadow Blade req.8 Unidentified stolen from me from this jerk while doing a FoW chest run... I kinda expected that he would steal it from me... so when we got back to town, he told me to give him 40k for it. Of course, this sword is not the end of the world, and I told him to shove it, and why people like him ruin this game... then he started telling me this world is unfair, that he had a chaos axe stolen from him the same way, and that his aunt died... I told him it's not my fault your aunt died, and your axe was stolen... but he ID'd it, and I was laughing my ass off. He got a Dmg+14$ (vs. hexed) & armor+7 vs physical...> hahahahaha < it's what he deserved.

I was doin fort aspenwood and I killed this kid who had FoW armor (according to him that made him unkillable)
i kill him when he tries to take over orange mine
he challanges me to a 1v1 :O

i use dragon slash to get more adren, i use both ripostes he dies in 10 seconds.
he calls me a noob the whole game and acusses a ranger for helping me. ( we only had 2, 1 was leeching, other was 90 miles away)

CARDINAL RULE OF MONKING: DONT USE REBIRTH IN BATTLE.

This is not because the person will die again but mainly because your energy is gone os you cant heal the others. I never rebirth in battle its not a smart thing to do.

heehee...I have a guildie who is a complete fashion zombie. Its funny. if i tell her the name of someone with bad armor, she will personally make sure the armor isnt bad much longer...

Biggest jerk is any one who bashes on any class.

I totally agree! Granted it is fabulous to get a BR every now and again but a person shouldn't need it to cast. It is different if the group is asking for a battery to join. The necro should be casting BR and whatever else as much as possible in that case. No one should really need it for energy management though.

Seeing how this thread is larger than all the "Nice people" thread, I'm beginning to lose all faith I had left of humanity. I just don't see how these people can be so... evil. How do they live with themselves???

The biggest jerk I met was in fact not to long ago. I have recently started a Mesmer, and am busy working my way through Tyria.. was at the wilds mission, half the party were new guys to GW.. then there was this loser who decided to try dictate the way the party played.. well he kept carrying on about the bonus (which I am quite familiar with), so when we get to the part where we have to fight through 5 packs of centaurs, he starts arguing about which way we need to go.. after a heated argument, the team decided to follow me, while he went and stood directly in the path of the patrolling centaurs. Of course he died, he stayed around for while, then left, we carried on and proceeded to finish the bonus (with only a healer, ele and mes - we lost the warrior due to lag i think), and the mission.. we all ended up pm'ing him after without realising we had each done so.. at first he was firing back rubbish.. crap.. but then i think he realised we weren’t lying The best part for me was helping the monk and ele, who were complete newbs to get through.. they listened well, and we were successful. We lost the warrior before going down to kill the 3 war lords, and i must be honest, i had already put us down has goners, so to complete the bonus, and get the mission with 3 lvl13\14 caster characters was awesome

oh, the biggest jerk I ever met was an assassin (go figure). I was trying out the w/n SSkai farming build, & this assassin was posting that he needed 2 more warriors to try & attempt the run, I told him I would be nice & let him join in. Now, I had just accidentally salvaged my longbow, so it took about a minute or so to get sskai alone, I killed him in under 20 seconds (which is amazing, the build is really slow) . he said he couldn't watch, & asked to go again, so we did. Now, on this second run, he aggrod the kraken spawn, & brought it to me, then run & got 2 oni spawns, & brought them to me. So I put on sprint & ran to the other side. He then asked what was taking so long, I replied I had no bow, He pulls out bow, shows it to me. It wasn't max damage, & had no stats, celestial bow. He shoots sskai, & all the naga come, 2 seconds later, he's dead. he asks to go again, we do. Same thing, he shoots, dies, & we restart. I say fine, let me have the bow, so I can at least get sskai by himself. He says no, that I'm a n00b & would steal it. So I call him a silly assassin noob, & leave. Now this made my day, he replied to me & said "u R teh n00b u ass" I told him to quit going into aol chat rooms & learn to type properly & that's the last I heard of him

So I get back on the forums tonight because I'm awaiting some new parts for my gaming rig, and I figure I should find that "Jerk" thread buried here somewhere and read all the funny stories.

Am I the only one here who is really bummed out by how huge this thread has gotten? Is there ANY decency left in humanity?! YAAARGHHBLBLBLBLBL!!!

Now then, time to not help. A couple weeks ago I was in Fort Aspenwood doing the obligatory grind for Jadeite. I brought along one of my favorite builds and a Warrior charges at me frothing at the mouth, thinking I'm an easy kill. He dies 5 seconds after reaching me. It's a bit fuzzy, but the conversation was exactly two posts long and went something like this.

Jerk: ****ing gay *** Mesmer
Me: Cool. That's the fastest I've been cussed out by a Warrior for killing them with this build.

Note that we were about 15 seconds into the start of the match. Not really a jerk story, but it was one that amused me somewhat. Consequentially, I often get the same comment from Touch Rangers when I stay out of their range and degen them to death.

A guy kept pm' ing me with messasges like "OMG UR GAY" and "GAY WAMMO" and stuff like that in Iron Mines because my 15k ascalon armour was dyed in a beautiful shade of...erm...pink.
I told him to consider the chance that im a girl and he stopped.

I take my monk into FoW....

A Gold Water Wand (such a fast moving commodity) drops from a beastie right next to me. It is assigned to someone else. Said person 7's out. I pick up the wand.

Jerk: OMFG! YOU NOOB YOUR SO GAY!!!!

Me: huh?

Jerk: YOU JUST STOOD THERE WAITING TO GET THAT! (caps included)

Me: Nope I've been standing here for a while now, healing people. I didn't force her to drop from the game.

Jerk: THATS BS... GIVE ME THAT WAND YOU'RE NOT EVEN AN ELEMENTALIST

Me: You aren't either. (he was a Wammo... using IWAY when nobody was dead)

Jerk: STOP BEING SUCH A FAG YOU NOOB

Me: But what about all those sexy guys lined up at my doorstep?

So check this out. Last Friday or Saturday I went into a UW 55/SS farming run where I was the 55. I died right as an ecto dropped. I took before and after screen shots. The SS said he forgot rez sig but said he'd give me my ecto. When the ecto became available, he picked it up, then left the game, no word from him. After 10 minutes I let everyone in my alliance know who he was and what he did. I posted the before and after pics here on Guru and asked all of you to let him know what a jerk he was. I was scolded for posting names. Anyhow, enough of you and my alliance members continually badgered him as to how screwed up it was to steal from me that last night he pm'd me and setup an ecto transfer.

I just want to say thanks to all of you that constantly pm'd him before the thread was pulled. I also want to say that mob justice worked in this case. Maybe this board should rethink it's policy on not posting names. FWIW, it was never about the ecto...

OMG! I went into UW in a 55/SS team and died! the lamer 55 monk refused to rez me as he waited for the 2 ecto's which had dropped for me to become public. Moment they did he grabbed them and zoned out!! zOMG what a scammer!!! His name was Quiet Wanderer!!! what a scammer!! Everyone mass pm him and tell him to return my ecto's!!!!

Sorry, GWG will not rethink it's policy. The policy is in place to protect innocent people from being blacklisted and accused of things that they didn't do. Now you and i know the statement I made just above is false - but if we allowed names to be posted and I posted that, you can guarantee people would believe me even if you came and gave your side of the story.

If we allowed names to be posted who is to say the people named would even be guilty of the crime? What would stop a scammer who got called out as a scammer from comming here and accusing the other person of being a scammer? Or was about some person who lost in RA and decided they didn't like people from the other side.. so came here and named them as scammers/lamers/etc? We only have your word that they did what they did - you could be lying and screenshot's can be doctered to show whatever it is you want. And even if they were innocent and came and refuted what had been said about them, there would always be those who would believe the first poster and thus an inniocent got their name sullied all because we allowed people to name names.

*sigh* So many people playing GW seem to forget that girls/women play too. Perhaps their fledgling manhood is challenged by anything feminine? *snicker*

I had bright purple Ascalon armour for the longest time... But fortunately I didn't seem to run into anyone like that. I suppose it's because purple doesn't provoke quite the same reaction as pink. Although I can rarely tell it from the blue myself, what with so many in-game locales being as poorly lit as they are... Maybe everyone else is partially colourblind too ?

Now, as for my own jerk stories...

I've actually had very few. Most I've forgotten, except for this one more recent one. I can't promise verbatim, but I can promise a witty running commentary! There was this one time, at band camp... Er, Minister Cho's Estate. The team was all GW players of many months, so we breezed through the mission effortlessly. But afterwards, the standard "gj team" trading took a slightly perverse twist:

Me: Woo, go team! We pwned that nooblet mission.
Other guys: Additional generic congratulatory remark(s)!
Other guys leave the party.
The guy (let's call him, Jerk): PMs me: and you looked hot while doing it
Me: PMs back: um, thanks
Thinking to self: er, okay... It is a nice dye job... Where's he going with this?
Jerk: what's your name?
Me: [I gave him my IGN, of course] Ai Emi [which, by the way, is brilliant - Ai means love in Japanese and Emi means beauty in the same, which fits the character; but (j')ai is "I have" in French and emi is "I bought" in Latin, and I'd just bought Factions...]
Thinking to self: Riiiiight. Only one way to deal with this guy properly - ignore list! But that's kinda rude, so... How else can I put it? [Here's where I went wrong]
Me: it's a secret
Jerk: how old are you? / where do you live? [you get the idea...]
Thinking to self: Woah, freak out time. What the hell am I supposed to say now?

[At this point I was displaying all the signs of severe anxiety. Increased heart rate, jumpy, not to mention slowly drifting away from the keyboard in shock. And I think my finger was twitching... I tried to calm down a little, when PING! Another PM from our Jerk...]

Thinking to self: At last! An out!
Me: Not a chance in hell, boy.

And I never saw him again and lived happily ever after for the rest of my days. Well, actually it's a bit premature to call that last bit. But it certainly shut him down . Although it actually does take a weight off my shoulders to post it; it was really creepy when it happened.

1.) People who spam racist shit all over the local chat.
2.) People who spam or say kidish stuff like suxons/kursuk.
3.) People that just have serious tempers and that just agitates me.

One of my guildies scolded a PUG player for brainless activity in a FOW run and the dude got all defensive (fwiw, don't get defensive, be objective). Of course he wasn't going to leave as we were a guild group and he was the only one not on TS (or in our guild for that matter). Well, that's when insults start flying back and forth. This goes on for the length of time we're in FOW. My guildie has a moment of clarity and lets the PUG player know that he was joking and to not take anything he said seriously. The PUG player flys off the handle and starts insulting him again. Now the mission is over and they are pm'ing insults at one another for a good five minutes. Finally the PUG player says, "leave me alone, I haven't taken my meds and I don't want to go back to the institution!"

Priceless...
