I don't think Canthans can do the Sanctum Cay mission either. No ascension.

Level 20 without a death, 146,000 XP. Also, I believe that if you get 150,000 XP after level 20 you receive the title.

You can't get any better armor until you get to the Maguuma jungle area. Do the Frost Gate mssion and continue on in the game.
