I did this quest once fine with my assasin so I know what should happen. I took it again with my mesmer. I accepted the quest and chose to drink....

Works on mesmer as well, they also get linen. Monks get cloth and silk i think. Rangers tan and wood, Warriors iron and tan - I think....
