If he's mesmer, he might use arcane echo ( would that work? dunno ). But if he's a ranger, he willl surely use serpent's quickness!

Mantra of signet or inscriptions on the signet. Northrog, it's possible that our Geotank friend has put up Obsidian Flesh before our mesmer...
